Shake Shack is in the top tier of fast food spots for me. It is high quality food for what it is but you definitely pay a premium price. This location can get extremely busy and a wait at times, so I'd recommend considering that if going during peak hours and you have somewhere to be. One thing I like about Shake Shack is that they often introduce new or seasonal items to try. A lot of these have been great and nice change from ordering off the standard menu. We usually stop at this location before heading to the movies nearby. I will continue to be a customer and recommend Shake Shack. read more

It took us a while to succumb to this place due to no locations nearby. We are happy we decided to give it a try one afternoon on a whim. When you enter, you walk to the left and order through a few terminals and pay there. The dining room is on the other side, along with a Soda machine. So, pro tip, no need to order a large drink! Wish we would have seen that first. We stopped here as we were heading back from a work trip. Mediocre place. I got hyped up because lots of people like this place. The kiosk ordering was fine for me but the set up was weird walking in. The food runners were approachable. The burgers here were good, if on the small side, as were the fries, shakes and drinks...that's the good. I took my family here at their request because we were in the area and I probably won't return. We ordered at a kiosk, which I know is the future, so, I'll deal with it. But, I specified no tip and one was added anyway. If I want to tip, I'll leave it on the table, dont force me. Okay I don't get the Shake Shack hate - personally, I love Shake Shack as an overall fast food brand, and find their food to be leagues above the competition. I will say, you do pay for it, and it is more expensive here than you might find say, McDonalds to be, but the quality is definitely easy to taste in the product. This location in particular is not perfect, but again, it's fast food, so I think it can be hard to hit that bar. My only real quips here are that we've had some orders messed up - think no cheese on cheese fries, or minimal toppings on a burger every now and then. Nothing crazy. I do wish Shake Shack as a business would consider offering a true kids menu, just as it's often a harder sell to get my kiddo to go here over McD, but when I can I literally relish the higher quality of the meal we are enjoying together. read more

There is nothing wrong with a good smash burger, especially from one of the giant of fast casual burgers tycoons. When it comes to the great debate I can't weigh in because I don't have an In and Out anywhere close to me but, you bet your butt I have Shake Shacks! And I've never had a bad burger experience here...this location isn't the one I frequent however, I found myself starving while shopping around and Shake Shack sounded solid. I knew there was something new on the menu so I instantly was stoked. I can never turn down a fried pickle. These new additions to the menu (for a limited time) were crispy and had a nice seasoned breading on the exterior. They sort of fell apart when biting them so I recommend popping these pickles fully. So, when in doubt don't bite just swallow, just kidding. Anyways...onto the burger I ordered which was the season barbecue burger. These returning burgers for summer (yes there are two) are classic renditions of barbecue flavored burgers, one with pulled pork on top and one just with bacon, sauce and onion straws. Both aren't anything special but, they both taste mighty good I love the Shake Shacks patty, it's thin and flavorful without being too greasy and the soft squishy buns are the perfect counterpart. Here's the deal with fast casual food giants- I demand consistency and that's one thing about Shake Shack I feel like it always tastes the same. The fries they added to the menu are spicy fries which are technically the normal crinkle cut fries with a spicy sprinkle. The thing about crinkle cut fries is to me unless they're double fried they aren't great, I like a crispy potato and these usually end up quite soggy. Found ourselves in the area and remembered Shake Shack being pretty good from years back -- sure enough, it's a good spot for fast food! It's quite sterile inside, and like an airport, you order from a kiosk. While I'd prefer the face to face, I will say this one is really user-friendly and goes quickly. I got a chicken sandwich and fries, and my daughter got a hot dog. The chicken sandwich was really good; felt like something you'd get at a local sit-down restaurant. The fries were hot, crispy and as good as I remembered. She loved her hot dog and ate it all. My only small quibble was that I tried to get ahead of things and order a shake to split among us from our table, but it's such a pain.. their website was so and clunky and couldn't find the Leawood location. Then I was prompted to do the app which simply isn't happening for one-offs like this. I finally just got up to do it at the kiosk but it took forever -- the lines had built, and when it was finally ready, they didn't bring it out to us despite the text saying they were bringing it out. So we ended up with some melty, honestly really flavorless milkshakes that I would recommend steering clear of. Was a waste of calories overall. I've never been to a Shake Shack so when in the area and while yearning a shake, I stopped in to order one. Their ordering system was a mess! They only use kiosk type ordering where customers order themselves and they also use online ordering. Well, I don't have, nor am I loading their app for one time ever ordering. The 4 kiosks that they had were occupied by three teenage rude girls who wanted to play with them while talking to each other about what to order... this took 10 mins as the line behind them built up (so disrespectful of today's kids, no situational awareness nor consideration to look around and be aware of others who might be waiting). I walked away and was about to walk out the door when a person walked up and asked if I needed help, I think they were a food runner. They were really friendly and helpful and they took my order at a different terminal. I wanted a dairy-free shake, but I was told they literally sold their last one this morning and they're discontinuing them. So I got a regular cookies & cream shake. I've got a love hate with Shake Shack because it seems like every other time something is wrong. Last time we went, they made the shakes prior to the food so by the time the food was done, the shakes were already melted! This time, the fries were seriously undercooked. When you pay almost $4 for a fry, you expect them to actually be fully cooked. It's such a bummer because when the food is done right it's so good. I love the chickenshack and my husband likes the smokeshack. You can't really go wrong with any of the shakes because again, when done right, they are very good. The fries are crinkle cut which is the best kind because when fried correctly they are just perfectly crunchy. I don't know what happened this time. Maybe they were rushing and cut the time short. Maybe they put too many fries in at once, preventing them from cooking at the right temp and reaching optimal crunch. We may never know... read more

My wife absolutely loves the chicken sandwiches, and lately they've been doing these deals where you get a shake or something with the order. Being a little more competitive has never heard anyone. Shake shack is a fun time, but they're not really put together really well. It seems like everything is just a little disheveled. The flavor is great when they're accurate, but the latest shake flavors I've been a little miss more than hit. Came in the other night craving a steak burger and shake. Overall everything felt very mediocre, the hype train was a let down for me. I ordered the shack burger with cheese fries and a cookies and cream shake. The shake was fantastic, I didn't love that I couldn't choose a smaller size though. The cheese fries were pretty good and I saw people suggesting dipping the fries in the shack sauce (bad idea) the shack sauce tasted like mayo and butter mixed up... no flavor. The cheese burger was okay, I like to have grilled onions on my burgers and I wasn't able to add grilled onions only raw onions on their app so maybe you can request in person, I'm not sure. Everything was pretty meh. Nothing was terrible but nothing really made me want to come back. The burger was fine but the lettuce was soggy. I did like the pickles as they were super crunchy. The burger was really greasy. It was actually dripping grease into the box as I ate it. I also tried the cheese fries. I like the cheese but the crinkle fries were nothing special. My mom and I decided to stop in for a lunch break while we were in the area shopping, and we were very happy with our choice! This location was very clean and the workers were kind and helpful. We ordered our food and picked a place to sit and after a brief wait our food was brought to our table. If you think the food looks good- it tasted even better. I ordered the Chicken Shack and fries, while my mom ordered the Shackburger and fries. The food was very hot and fresh and the chicken and fries had a amazing crunch to it. We could both agree that the food was delicious and everything was enjoyed down to the last bite. You see the three star rating, and you think, "Guess he didn't really like it..." That couldn't be further from the truth! Shake Shack is probably my absolute favorite fast-casual burger of any of the national chains! And, while that's prone to change day-to-day based on the burger in front of me at any given moment, I'd definitely say that MOST days, Shake Shack is the best...in my book! On my maiden visit to the closest location of this Best-of-Burger franchises to my house, I had a perfectly average visit. "Meets expectations" comes to mind. It was a little busy during the lunch rush, and a bit backed up due to two of the four self-ordering computers being out of service. After a few minutes passed, they opened up a human-run register, and we were first to that terminal. Order was taken with a smile, and we even received a vote of confidence for the Truffle Burger wifey and I both ordered for the first time. We sat inside, and our food was delivered relatively quickly. Burger was friggin' FANTASTIC, and it's a true shame that this is (supposedly) the last month of its existence on the menu, as it would probably be my hands-down go-to from here on out. I chased mine with a Wake & Shake (also FANTASTIC), and wifey had a Strawberry shake. I've had the pleasure of visiting a handful of really incredible locations of Shake Shacks "abroad" (from KC), so while this location was just fine, it was but another run-of-the-mill suburban outpost among all the others. I ordered the Chick'n Bites and Crinkle Cut Fries. The Chick'n Bites are juicy, flavorful, and delicious. When you take a bite, the skin falls off as if it was barely hanging on. The Chick'n bites were very hot when I received them and tasted fresh which I appreciated very much. The fries are crunchy, seasoned well, and fresh. They definitely made a great addition to the Chick'n bites. The environment is lively, but not very loud. There were customers in almost every booth eating and enjoying their time at this establishment. The customer service was fast and efficient, with the server being very polite. Service was great at this location! There is an option to order without a cashier for busier times. I ordered with a staff member and they had great customer service. I ordered the smokeshack and a side of fries. The smokeshack is a perfect burger with cheese, bacon, and pepper. The crinkle fries are some of my favorite fries and are the perfect 'crunchy' texture. Still having issues with too long of a wait even when no customers are there. Today I spent 20 minutes watching young kids fill their food prep gloves with water at the sink and throw at each other, and also fill their gloves with water while on their hands and walking behind the counter with their hands lifted in the air so water fell all over the floor. I met some family members here a few months ago only to find out they were doing carry-out orders only. We ended up leaving to go somewhere else where we could all sit together instead of eat in our cars. Unfortunately we live 20 minutes from this location so taking it all the way home seemed like a waste. Also came here yesterday around 5:30pm only to find out their new hours are 11-5PM - every single day. That is so bizarre to me that they close about an hour before dinner.
