I've been hearing about Shake Shack for quite some time, but unfortunately, the upper Hudson Valley doesn't offer it, so it was worth the stop while at the mall. When we visited, it wasn't too busy. The menu has a lot to offer, which was impressive to see. Can't go wrong with the variety to choose from. I ordered my food, a ShackBurger and Cheese fries, which come completely separate. I also ordered a vanilla milkshake along with the main order. All of it tasted great and was satisfied with it all. Customer service was great which ups my rating for sure. The rating has nothing to do with the food and service, but the waiting took quite some time, understanding they also do takeout which is probably the case, and also, surprisingly, I found it to be a bit pricey. That's not going to stop me though, but the food was top-notch. read more

The cashier was the sweetest, I forgot what she said her name was but she was super sweet. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries for my friend and I. Burger was full of flavor and delicious and fries were fresh and hot. I ordered a seasonal lemonade; a sunset and it was so refreshing. I'm a fan of Shake Shack - they have a relatively straightforward menu and I always find the food to be high quality. You can imagine then, my delight when I heard a new location was opening in The Westchester. Since I was in the mall today picking up a few things I decided to take advantage and head to the food court to check it out. This is the first Shack to open in White Plains, and the third overall in Westchester (the other two being in Hartsdale and Yonkers). A few years back there was a complete overhaul of the mall's food court - the typical mall offerings were eliminated and new, arguably more premium brands took up shop. The food court overall was definitely an upgrade, and Shake Shack fits well into the aesthetic. Owing to the popularity of Shack and the fact that it recently opened, they drew the biggest (socially distant) crowd in the food court. The line moved quickly though, and the wait for my food afterward was not long at all. I'm a fan of the Chick'n Shack so I ordered that with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious - just the right amount of lettuce, pickles, and mayo, and the chicken was high quality as usual. What I loved most about this particular experience was the customer service. I had a promo code to use and the team member ringing me up went the extra step to make sure it was honored when there was initial difficulty getting it to work. Additionally, when I picked up my order the runner was very friendly and made sure the order was complete; I could really tell the entire team was working as a cohesive unit - such efficient service. Overall, I had a great experience at this new Shack. The food was great as expected, and the service was awesome. I'm glad that they opened a location in White Plains, and look forward to the next time I want to treat myself. read more

Maybe it's because I'm old and can only hark back to the glory days of the original Madison Square Park Shake Shack, but this beloved NYC Danny Meyer staple has become a sad shadow of its former memory. It was worth waiting in line among dozens of New Yorkers eagerly awaiting a ShackBurger and a seasonal shake. The trip was an experience and the food was your reward. But gone are the glory days of the OG Shake Shack. I'm only left with thin tasteless overcooked meat, a greasy oil bomb of molten cheesy portobello, a limp vegetable menagerie, and a meek Martin's potato roll fighting for relevancy. In the shareholders' defense, Shake Shack has considerably improved their crinkle-cut fries to a layered crispy/soft contrast to give you both the exterior crunch and the fluffy inside. But unfortunately, it was not enough to save my Shake Shack order. And it doesn't help that the food takes forever, even if there's no line. As an ardent defender of Shake Shack vs. In-N-Out vs. Five Guys, I am sad to say Shake Shack has lost this battle. read more

My review has to do with drink sizes. When I go to get a large soda, it should be one where I'm floating in the soda. Places like Sarku that used to be in the galleria mall and Annie's pretzels both know how to make a large soda shake shack does not if you're looking for a large soda go downstairs to where they sell the pretzels much larger. read more

The little girls working 09/03/23 at 2pm processing and giving out customer orders need attitude adjustments. I was simply looking over at at the order pickup shelf from the counter to see if my order was ready to try and determine if my name had been called. Yet I was barked at by the girl up front handing out orders asking me "who are you picking up for?" complete with an eye roll. She then went and said something to the girl processing the food in the back and she too rolled her eyes at me. I don't expect this level of poor customer service from anyone working in this mall let alone ShakeShack. Do better. read more

I'm am so disappointed to have been so disappointed! The hype I've heard about this place made me excited to have my first trip there tonight, but it's highly unlikely I'll be back to eat! Perhaps the lack of trying a shake was my mistake, because it certainly would have coated my stomach for the gastric nightmare of the meal I chose. The classic Shack Burger with added pickles and crispy onions was beyond disappointing, grossly over cooked with burnt edges, and left my hands slick (even through their paper cover) from the excess oil. Hard to taste any flavor beyond "oily and burnt". The fries were a heart condition patients death! I have never (Never!) eaten fries coated in salt as these were - a visible, crunchy coating like sugar on a donut! I cannot believe this is usual and customary, and am convinced this was the mistake of a heavy hand. God awful and barely edible. They few that I had left my lips tingling from the sodium overload. For as bad as I thought the meal was, it was worse as time passed and my body felt the effects of the salt and grease. A real stomach turner. I can't imagine this was the same place I heard so much about. Maybe, in the spirit of fairness, in time I would give it another try, hoping I was there on a very off night for them. I would go back to just try a shake, and maybe that's the key to the rave reviews that make people not notice the inferior food? I'm hoping this was not a representative experience and afforded them three stars for the hope, and for the friendly and helpful staff that served us! Came back from a long day of apple picking and was craving some Shake Shack. It has been a while since I last had it, and I had high expectations given how beautiful the mall looked inside. Came at around 2:30 pm on a Thursday afternoon in which there were maybe 3-4 other customers around me and that was all, so I was expecting better service. I ordered the SmokeShack single and the ShackBurger single, along with the regular fries and a lemonade and the order came out to be over $30 dollars. I was not given a receipt so I could not verify the order, but I assumed the order to be right. When I was given the order, I received an extra ShroomBurger that I did not order. It was fine overall, but I wish I could've gotten a receipt or at least a verification of my order as I know for a fact that I did not say ShroomBurger. Otherwise, food was good. The fries with the black truffle sauce was also good too. The food came out decently fast as well. The mall had a beautiful outdoor patio to sit in, which was next to a indoor fireplace. Overall, I would come back again as I could give the benefit of the doubt that the messed up order was a one time thing. read more

We were on a long road trip between college visits. My family really wanted Shake Shack one more time before returning to our home in Hawaii, where there are no Shake Shacks. We have tasted Shack Shacks all over the country, but my family agrees that the ones in New York are the best tasting burgers. I am not sure why they taste better, but this one was no different. First of all, wow, what a shopping mall! I am not sure if this is a new mall, but it looks that way. The tile is so nice and the decor is open and quiet for a mall. The food court was a little tough to find after we left the parking garage and they could use a little better signage to get you there. Anyway, the food court was pristine. There was plenty of seating options and we chose some over nearer to the windows. I have had so many burgers on this trip, so I tried the Chicken sandwich. It was good! It is no Popeye's Classic, but it was tasty. As always, the burgers here are the best. But, the fries this time were perfect. I love crinkle fries and these were cooked to perfection - golden brown, crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. A great meal on the road! read more

I have been urged to try the shake shack burger by fans and have lost all respect for their opinions. I have two issues with the the shake shack at the Westchester. First I am not anti salt, I generally like salty foods; the level of salt on the fries was obscene. There was the heaviest coating of salt I have ever experienced, I did not finish them. The burger was good if a tad over done. The second issue was that there was no Shake Shack sauce on the side in my bag. Remedied by a trip back to the counter, were the staff who were friendly and helpful and gave me two. Only to return and open my burger and find that there was also none of the crispy onions I had ordered and paid for. Again friendly staff provided some in a burger bag. I was well treated by the counter staff, they were helpful and apologetic to me and another customer standing next to me with her own complaint. Yes, I know it's a mall food court... Love shake shack! Love the food! I headed to this specific location because of pregnancy cravings. However, this location is always slow service. It feels like you wait an eternity for your order. and the guy handing out the food is super rude. After asking for mustard he tossed packs of ketchup then tossed packs of Mayo on the table towards me stating they don't have mustard. read more
