8/25 Searching for a breakfast spot while in Larchmont NY, I ended up in NewRo. Driving through a huge strip mall I found Rochelle Coffee Shop. I stepped inside and I was instantly greeted and escorted to a seat. As I walked through, I noticed how clean and neat everything was. The booths were really comfortable and inviting. Rochelle Coffee Shop seems like a homely spot where locals hangout and everyone knows each other by name. The staff were very sociable and attentive. My waiter was very patient and was willing to answer any question that I had pertaining to certain dishes. I ordered a veggie omelet, home fries, beef sausage, and coffee. The Coffee was very good. It tasted very fresh with no bitterness. The sausage, OH MY Goodness. I don't mean to sound so dramatic over sausage but these sausages were very tasty and did not disappoint and it was just the right portion. The home fries were all of that and more. I am making a declaration that Rochelle Coffee Shop raised the bar when serving home fries, chefs kiss! The home fries had onion and peppers, the chef was not stingy with the ingredients. The omelet was really delicious until I bit into a piece of eggshell. That ruined the entire meal and gave me such an attitude that I will not consider coming back. The eggshell was not the only foreign thing in the omelet there was a stem from the avocado inside my egg. I did not know that veggie omelets contain avocado stems, yet alone avocados unless requested. I can excuse a lot of things but not the eggshell inside of the egg. My first time ordering here, I ordered a cheeseburger over the phone for delivery and when i got it and took my first bite, it was raw and usually don't make a big deal but only the edges were cooked the middle was raw and just ruined my lunch in general hopefully in the future i'll try eating here again but a raw burger is a no no. read more

My daughter was married last weekend in the New Rochelle area and we needed breakfast for the wedding party as they were getting ready at an area hotel. I needed two separate orders -- one for the groom and groomsmen and one for the bride and bridesmaids, probably 30 people in total. I talked with the owner and manager several times to explain what I wanted and they were lovely to work with. I needed to change the delivery time to earlier and the were happy to honor my request. Little things we asked to add -- cream cheeses on the side and not on the bagels -- not a problem. When the food came it exceeded my expectations! Firstly everything was so fresh and delicious. All the food was arranged beautifully and was abundant. Gorgeous fresh fruit salads, amazing egg sandwiches, pastries and danishes and full coffee set up with cups, sugars, creamers etc., They sent napkins, plates, silverware -- they thought of everything we might possibly need. Everyone raved about the food and there were very few leftovers as it was hard to resist going back for more. Ordered from Grubhub at 11 AM for breakfast, received confirmation for 12:20 PM delivery. At 12:12 PM, I receive an email saying the order has been canceled. Strange, so I call them. Extremely unfriendly and unhelpful man answers the phone saying they canceled "a long time ago" so I wouldn't be left waiting. So sure, maybe they did. But there's always a delay (especially during peak weekends like Mother's Day) between what the restaurant does and Grubhub's alerts. So why didn't they call me? Instead I waited an hour for a breakfast that never arrived. I also called Grubhub and they said that Rochelle Coffee Shop should have taken better care in canceling the order. Good diner. A HUGE plus is that they deliver to my house in Eastchester and are usually VERY quick- hence 4 stars instead of 3. I usually just order breakfast from here and it is typical diner style breakfast. Nothing fancy but gets the job done. Coffee is okay. Ordered lunch a few times and all pretty good, standard diner food. Their chicken soup is delicious though. Went a few times and dined in house as well. Ok so I sat at the counter and the short order cook is touching everything with his bear hands. I ordered eggs and home fries. He takes the home fries from a pan next to the grill with a spatula and puts his hand on top of it to get it to the grill without losing any. Then he starts eating his own breakfast- something on a bagel. In between bites he's fixing some other unsuspecting victim's breakfast as well. By now my eggs are in front of but I'm mesmerized!!! What disgusting avenue are we going down next? Yup, you guessed it: he finished his last couple of bites with his fingers in his mouth. Went to order for myself about a week later and my order was cancelled because the diner was "too busy." Who just cancels someone's order for a bs reason like this? My husband just asked me if I wanted to order from here again. Nope! They can't be counted on to complete the order. It's not that damn busy in this town, at all. It was like 1pm on a weekday. Terrible. Ordered off of eat 24, which showed this having 5 stars, not sure why. Delivery took 1hr and 20 min, food was cold and had to be microwaved. When I called to check in they said it was probably highway traffic- I live less than a mile from this place so highway is silly. I've order from here multiple times. THE FOOD IS GOOD. This is a delivery issue. Everytime I've used eat24 or Grubhub for delivery for this place either they are very early OR EXTREMELY LATE!!!! The plus is that the food was hot the minus is that the didn't cook the food till after an hour of getting the food. In previous orders as well Orders weren't right. I order a Bacon egg and cheese on a bagel and get it on toast. Or I don't get bacon and it's an egg and cheese. Yesterday I placed an order and advised on the order to bring change of a big bill. Well the delivery driver told me He didn't notice till her got to the door and that they didn't say anything at the restaurant. My advice....either call them direct or go pick it up cause when you order from these services it's almost like they delay it or mess it up on purpose. Only the freshest ingredients are used in all the menu items (The appetizers are delicious and great for sharing or to have a a light on the go meal.) plus the homemade dinner specials prepared daily. The Coffee Shop is extremely clean and a bit cozy when they fill up but it doesn't last long as the swift turnover takes care of it. Breakfast is our favorite for eggs with corn beef hash and we share sides of bacon and sausage. The coffee is great too.The staff service is friendly and swift at the counter, doing double duty serving the booths as well. The corn beef hash and hamburgers are a specially prepared blend of high end cuts of meat. Best in town! We come before 3pm for an early dinner when we are in a burger mood. They are so huge and delicious, I get mine with melted Swiss - black and blue with some raw onions, not many places today will serve it that way for you. It is too much food for me, so I take half of it home to eat the next day. You have to save room for the amazing desserts! read more

My husband and I stopped in to have breakfast on a weekday morning. It wasn't busy at all. The man took our order. He delivered the food to our table. He never came over to ask how anything was. I had to ask for coffee. He came over and almost spilled the coffee on my husbands arm. We then wanted another cup and once again I had to ask for it. Eggs and French toast were soggy and cold upon delivery, then when I called through the number on the grub hub app ( originally I had called about 10 times from the number that the lady who works there, had contacted me from prior to the order) I finally got someone and asked to speak to the manager who was incredibly rude, hostile and discourteous. Then had the nerve to rant about me not 'generously' tipping the woman who delivered the food. Luckily, grubhub is a great app and I was refunded. Absolutely terrible. I just ordered food from them usually their breakfast and lunch is pretty good I tried their dinner for the first time today I ordered penne vodka with chicken....and the chili cheese fries and chopped steak...now the pasta is okay the chili cheese fries are awful and the chopped steak was terrible. I work in a restaurant and in my past places I work at chopped steak doesn't mean ground beef it means chopped steak into slices. Forgive me if I'm the first person to not know that I took one bite into it and realized it wasn't steak that's not the most bothering part the part that is bad is that even the ground meat tastes terrible McDonald's meat is better than this trash. And I call to simply say it wasn't steak like I said I didn't know and the guy that answers the phone it's the same guy that always answers I recognize the voice he starts an argument saying everyone knows what it is basically saying it's my fault I didn't know I said you should specify he said well everyone knows and then he continues to talk over me. And says he's been in the business for 30 years...whatever it was a suggestion I was saying I wasn't demanding for my money back absolutely terrible management whoever runs this place needs to check their staff and if he's the manager like he says he needs to learn that the customers opinion matters not that the customer is always right cause trust me I work in this business I understand it I'm a waitress they can be complicated he could've just said sorry and I would've been fine.
