I was here to attend an Indian event which took place last weekend. The event was packed with at least 8000+ people. Beautiful park with a soccer and track field, 2 cricket pitches, 6 cricket practice cages and 2 tennis ball cricket grounds. Also has a wooded 1 mile trail with a small hillock. Not accessible during school hours. Plenty of parking including the River trail school parking. Great for a walk on the trail or around the track to watch cricket match or practice. A small area with swings for the kids, an easy trail next to it. And right by the water. There are a few picnic tables in the area as well. The park is well maintained, and the promenade near the entrance is a cozy and quiet path that I love it the most. A great place to have big events or concerts. Shakerag Park is a rustic and presently lightly developed, 66-acre community park located in the northeastern tip of Johns Creek. The park features a 1.1-mile-long nature trail that loops under 200 year old hardwoods and past one of Johns Creek's only working farms. Park Features include 66 Acres with a walking/jogging track, 3.8-acre lake, 3 cricket batting cages, 1.1-mile nature trail, 3 large athletic fields, Ping Pong Table, Playground, 3 Picnic Pavilions, Restrooms, and Community Room inside Fire Station #62. Ample free parking available. If you are in the area please do visit for an great experience.

A great place for a birthday party!

This is one of the cutest parks in the area. It's pretty much unknown, which is kind of nice! It's never busy and it's covered by a nice shaded canopy. Shakerag is a hidden gem in Johns Creek. The road to the park lies between Shakerag Elementary and the fire station. Thankfully, there are signs that tell you where to go, and it's easy to find. There's a nice pond right at the playground area, and the playground is surrounded by a fence. I love that my son is contained and can still enjoy the beauty of the pond.

Such a cute park! I've done everything from maternity pictures in front of the farmhouse to Sunday…read moremorning walks with my dog. A year later, I got to bring my baby back to that exact spot where I had my maternity shoot, which made it even more special. They also have an awesome playground for toddlers and up, with a super cute farm theme, and everything is kept in impeccable condition. It's a beautiful, spacious park, and they have a large dog park too. One thing to note: the park has two separate sides, so plan accordingly when you visit.

Such a spacious and cute park. Bonus: There are various critters like deer, dragon flies,…read morebutterflies, critters like a large brown millipede looking thing (see my photo). The park itself had ample parking spaces. And the facilities there were clean and well maintained. There were various trails that's away from the main paved path. These side trails were nicely shaded and eventually leads back on the main path. The historic farm structures like the main house, farmhouse, side house and its outhouse are still erect. That's the charm of this place with the well groomed flower garden that someone upkeeps. The old and new altogether. As you wander the park, you forget you're in the heart of Duluth where shopping and restaurants galore await you. Because while you're talking around (and trying not to sweat to death during the summer), you'll hear the summer insects buzzing. It literally reminded me of my childhood during the summers hearing the loud insects buzz away.
