They even give me a ride back and forth which is very personal service most places won't offer.

I was looking at a car from a guy who lived down the street, took it here to have them do an all over check on it, and they said minor things like it needs a new radiator cap. I was being young and stupid. I bought the car and all of these men lied (including the owner of the car who claimed to be a mechanic) and fooled a 20 yr old girl. This car broke down with serious issues not even 3 months later. I was told by a family friend and mechanic that this car was "rigged" to work temporarily. The mechanics at Starr should have noticed this since it pertained to the radiator hence it needing a new cap. It's a Cadillac with head gasket issues. When I found out I'd have to pay 2000 to fix it I almost flipped out. I tried any cheap fix, bottle of concoction from autozone (this must be what the guy did because it lasted for around the same time before it would overheat again) which I found out that certain ones you put in you will need to replace the radiator cap, funny how I was told I would need to do that.... Long story short, 1 yr and 3 months later I have the car fixed, I'm out 5500 for a car worth 3000 all because these men lied to me. 1. Don't EVER buy a car from the "mechanic" that lives down the street from this shop. 2. If you do buy a car from him, don't bring it to this shop to have them look at it. Lesson learned the hard way.

Great place for auto repairs!…read more I have used this repair shop many times, mainly because it's right next door to my apartment. They do good work, quickly, for a fair price. They have been around for a long time, and I believe they have a few locations. I recently brought my daughters beater car into their shop because the power steering was leaking badly. I would pour power steering fluid in and it would drain right out the bottom. I took a look at it and determined it was leaking from one of the hoses. I tried to fix it, but the hose was located in a tight spot and I couldn't even get my hand in there. So, I don't know how they got at it to repair it. But they called me 2 hours later and it was done. Total was $61. I as expecting $200-$400. So I was really happy! I think they can fix just about anything! I've had my truck in for oil changes, a broken 4 wheel drive control module, wheel bearings, brakes, and probably a few more things I can't think of right now.

The Hillcrest mechanic told me that even though the ABS warning light was on, the ABS absolutely worked, the front end was tights, and he'd buy it if he had the money. I bought the car and learned the next day from my mechanic, that not only was the ABS not working, but if the light is on it means it absolutely CANNOT work. It would cost almost $400 (and the front end was loose in 2 places). So I called Hillcrest and told the mechanic that I bought the car on his word that the ABS worked. He denied ever saying it worked. I asked if he would fix it at half price. "Not gonna happen." Click. I'm not wining about it, caveat emptor, I did see the warning light, and I still got an ok price on a decent car. I'm posting this to document the mechanic's dishonesty.

Previously to bringing the car to joey and frank, i was quoted a extremely high amount JUST FOR THE REAR brakes, fluid flush, rotors, pads etc. I was able to get ALL 4 brakes, pads, rotors, fluid flush for A LOT LESS than what i was quoted at another shop for just 2 brakes. Ill be bringing my other car there as they have gained my trust. I would HIGHLY suggest you just stop in as they provide free diagnosis and will always just be upfront with you. He shows me the paperwork and tells me that that alternator cost him $411 that's what he had written in.
