He noticed that the tires I had selected and paid for online (using what was suggested by the discount tires website when I entered my license plate) were not the right size and found that the higher quality tires that did fit were $70 less per tire! I often feel reluctant about car related purchases because I know they will be expensive and I feel like people will often try to sales pitch you into buying something even more expensive, but that was not the case here which I really appreciated. He did present me with a few extra add ons like new windshield wipers (which I did get, $21/wiper for a VW) and a new spare tire because mine is probably 10+ years old (which I did not get). I was refunded the difference between the cheaper tires + the wipers and the original price I paid and my car was ready in 45 minutes! This location is across the street from a Wing Stop, Noodles, & a Jersey Mike's. There were plenty of seats to wait in but it was also convenient to run across the street and grab lunch while my tires were being changed. Sounded like appointments were the way to go, walk ins on a busy day could have to wait up to 90 min. Highly recommend this place!

But when I needed some work done recently in a certain timeframe, they fit me in here and got it all done very effectively. (And to reinforce the point about tires, none of this work was tire-related, and when I asked how my tires looked they said I won't need new ones for a while yet.) Service departments at dealerships tend to have some amenities like lounges where you can set up to work remotely, free loaner cars, etc, and Tires Plus can't offer anything like that. And I don't think this is necessarily cheaper than a dealer. But over the years they've earned my trust, and that's not something I'd say lightly about an auto shop.

Took car to the St Paul location for a tire leak at the rear DRIVER side. Was informed the valve…read morewas leaking and needed replacement /new sensor. One week later, still adding air to the rear DRIVER side wheel, as they "repaired" the perfectly normal PASSENGER rear tire. Returned today, hoping to have an honest dialogue. Instead, the mechanic informed me he was the one that saw the tear in the tire valve, and " we don't fix tires unless there's a leak ". When asked him why the repair was done on a tire that I did not designate as needing repair, he informed me that all 4 tires are removed for inspection at the time of a repair, and that this was standard practice. If that were the case, then the problem with my rear DRIVER side tire would have been discovered and patched, end of story. The shiny new valve on the completely normal tire is pretty, but dishonesty runs deep to my core. I have trusted this shop in the past and have relied on them for good work and honest work. Wondering if this shop is under new management? I won't be returning.
