I no longer use Geico but I still trust this shop because of their honesty and transparency. The management here cares about its customers. ------------------------------------------- I had damage to my headlight mount and took my car here as part of an insurance claim. I would have never gotten this repair done because the estimate from Geico (that I provided the shop) was 1147, for something I would have just ducked taped had I not thought I would only be on the hook for my $500 deductible. I send the shop my estimate from Geico, they tell me they'll work with Geico if anything doesn't add up correctly. The part turns out to be on back order and arrives 3 weeks later, I take my car in, a few hours later I pick my car up with a bill for $1930. By this time, Geico had already sent me a check based on their estimate. Geico says the shop over charged me on both parts and labor. The part should have been just over $1000 but the shop charged me $1461, and labor in the area averages $65/hour but this shop charges $145/hour. Geico is refusing to do anything about it and the shop, as of now, is going with "these are our rates, we are a business, blah blah." Shame on me for not doing my homework. I trusted this shop as I had brought my car here many times for regular maintenance but I was clearly gouged and very disappointed with my experience.

The night before, the guy at Valvoline SHOWED me the filter and said it had a lot of life left! Oh! And and he said the tires were all in bad shape! My tires are fine. When I dropped off the car they were messed up on what oil goes in the car and told me their computer system had lost all record of this. I communicated with them and determined it was the 0-20 full synthetic. Which should be 4.8 quarts. I picked up the car and drove it for 900 miles when my low oil light level came on. I added a full quart to the car and it seems to be okay, but that is TBD. I immediately got an oil change somewhere else. Drove the car and after another 1000 miles, there is no loss of oil. This store is messed up! They did NOT put the proper amount of oil in the car and I am even skeptical that they put 0-20W vs 5-20W in the car! They DO NOT know what they are doing. I would sue if I could but you make us sign the waver when we pick up the car so my only recourse is to place reviews across the internet will attest to how they are a bad place to do service.

I parked as a guest in my girlfriend's apartment lot on a…read morerow that had "guest parking" signs as opposed to the "permit only" sign on the opposite side of the lot. Even though I was parked on the side that said "guest parking" they towed me anyway. They charged me $259 cash to get my car back, not to mention making me late for work. When I talked with an officer from the Savage PD he used the term "predatory" to describe them and said they have received several complaints. They said that that predatory tow companies enter into agreements with apartment buildings to post signs and patrol their lots at no charge. The signs that they post are placed ambiguously enough to cause confusion in ordeto trick folks into getting towed. Although they didn't do anything that could result in criminal charges, they recommended that I take it up with the Attorney General's consumer protection division. Update: no where did it say that guest parking was between the signs and my girlfriend, who is a resident of the apartment building, never received notice from apartment management about where guests were allowed to park.
