We paid thousands and thousands of dollars for our artificial grass and it looks worse than any job I've ever seen.

They do a great job mowing and trimming edges in my yard They show up like clockwork every two weeks do their thing and leave

We are renters in Benicia and this company does the gardening. My experience with Tom has been quite negative. He's been rude, abusive, and disrespectful to me on more than one occasion. Today his workers were in the back of the house outside my art studio (I was working)--they knocked over some patio furniture and when they they put it back, I looked up and the guy waved at me. This is unprofessional and an intrusion and I was dumbfounded. I would never recommend this company. read more

Edit: Waiting to hear back, but I'm having the same issues Ross S. is experiencing: basically just mowing the lawn and trimmed some vines which is a bit steep for $75/month. Also, got a quote to repair the sprinkler system which has a leak even while off, but Mike hasn't returned to do the repair for almost three months. Hopefully I'll be back to update with better news, but so far the service has been below the quality promised and the repair work seems to have been forgotten. ----- Original: Mike is timely, affordable, and efficient. I found his bid to be lower than a couple other landscapers I've used in the past for maintenance (and the others who gave me quotes). He also gave a reasonable quote on some irrigation / sprinkler repairs we badly needed. His dogs are cute and his staff are patient. His equipment seems well cared for which I take as a good sign (same applies to clean mechanics' shops). He made it to my house less than 24 hours after I called and has returned all my calls. He's well spoken and considerate of financial limitations. He seems ready to take on bigger jobs in the yard including trees and complex irrigation systems without any hesitation. I'm happy to recommend him and his staff. He's a local Benician and a pleasant dude with good prices. read more

I hate to bring down their average, but I haven't had a 5 star relationship with Shamrock. They've been providing my yard care for about a month, so I guess we're still relatively early into the relationship, but typically businesses seem to stick to their initial service level. I met with the owner of the company at my house, and was impressed that he actually spoke English (he's an actual born in America person). With so many yard care providers, this is not the case. We discussed what I'd like to have done: lawn care, pruning in a naturalistic manner (no hedge shears and hard edges, please), and weed removal / control. I also asked for recommended extra services that can make things look spiffy, such as lawn overseeding and sprinkler adjustment. (I'm certainly willing to pay extra for this, I just want someone to do it for me.) Agreed on a monthly rate for twice a month service. On the first service, they only mowed the lawn, and said they would come back to finish up since it had started to rain. Over a week later, no one had returned, so I called to remind them of this. A worker came over and removed a few weeds, and trimmed a little in front- using a hedge trimmer that left a bunch of hard edges. Including on lavender, which if you don't know, looks horrible after it's been hit with a hedge trimmer. Many big obvious weeds were left. I've had to use Roundup and pull many weeds myself, so I don't think the value is there since one of the promised services was weed removal. They have cut the lawn a few times and done a little pruning. I have yet to see a bill from them, but I guess that's all that $75 a month will buy me with Shamrock. My previous provider (about two years ago, haven't had one since) charged about the same and did much more work. In fact they overpruned and things grew out of control as soon as they stopped doing my yard, but the lawn always looked great and I never had to pull a weed. I'll give them three stars and no recommendation. If the service improves, I'll gladly amend my review. The owner said he'd adjust my lawn sprinkler heads. Over a month later I'm still waiting. I guess I'll do it myself. read more

Shamrock has been doing my rental property in Vallejo for several years. I've never had a problem and the front lawn and backyard always look great. I really appreciate some of the extra services I've received over the years..... repairs on the sprinkler system and even letting me know of some potential problems with the house before they became real problems. I don't check the house very often and really appreciate the pride of ownership and service I've received from Shamrock. Also.... the few times I have seen them on the property... the crazy Jack Russell always brings a smile to my face. Shamrock has been taking care of our large Manufactured Home Community, in American Canyon, for about 5 years. Mike is the BEST and his workers are always diligent about their work and taking care of our needs. Shamrock always takes special care with our gardens by replacing seasonal plants and any plants that are in need of replacement. I recommend Shamrock to anyone that wants good quality service. Clean equipment and mediocre quality of work but any appreciation they might have gained was lost by the behaivor of the workers. The employees who showed up were rude to the passers-by during their breaks, including obstructing the path of several older residents trying to reach their vehicles. Had the workers been courteous enough to close their truck doors while standing around on break or to park in a less central location this would not have happened read more

I am not a customer but my neighbor is one of their clients. I am tired of the workers blowing leaves and petals into my yard. I have spoken to both the neighbor and yard workers on site from the Shamrock Landscape Co. about this problem but it continues. They should be raking instead of blowing if they are unable to clean up their mess. Workers are not professional. read more

These guys take care of my neighborhood and they do a very poor job. They don't take care of the full neighborhood just what is visible on the outside, aka the front entrance. They have killed 3 trees in front of my house and I have had to have them taken out. We've had leaves sitting in a massive pile next to our house for 6 weeks now, weeds up to my waist and the drip system they replaced is leaking and spraying everywhere because they didn't bother to cover the new water lines. I almost forgot that we've had trees in the common area that have fallen over and still laying on the ground now for at least 2 years and several houses that used to have grass now look like they're sitting on dirt lots for going on 3 years now. read more

Absolutely top rate. I used Shamrock as my bi-weekly gardening service while owning my home in Vallejo for a number of years, until I sold the home a couple of months ago. I hired them to mow and line the front and back yards. They frequently went above and beyond what I paid them for, pruning back bushes, yard cleanup, and even removed a large fallen birch tree -- voluntarily and at no additional fee. Mike's company has been doing my yardwork for me for about 5+ years. They have always been fantastic about doing a really good job and cleaning up when they are done.
