I'd heard great things about Shamrock's Pizza & Bar from a few people, so I made the drive up from Minneapolis with some friends -- and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the veggie pizza, and it was absolutely amazing. Perfectly baked, loaded with flavor, and hands down one of the best I've had in a long time. The service matched the food -- our waiter knew the menu inside and out, was super friendly and efficient, and had a great sense of humor that made the experience even better. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and to top it all off, they had Spotted Cow on tap -- a huge win for me since we can't get that beer in Texas! Everyone has that one pizza place that sets the standard for all other pizza places they visit. Shamrock is mine! I've been going to Shamrock since childhood and make a point to stop in whenever I visit my hometown. The pizza is excellent - crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and a variety of flavors. The staff members are friendly - they know your name and make you feel at home. The atmosphere is perfectly dive-bar-ish yet still clean. My go-to orders are the bacon cheeseburger, Dave's special, taco, and Sandy's special. I always order my pizzas well-done, and I often opt for half/half to get two options on one pizza. (Note: Some pizzas, like the taco, can't be made in a half/half option.) Shamrock is also a great place for parties. I had my high school grad party there, back in the day, and it was a good deal with excellent service. There's a parking lot and plenty of street parking. They don't take reservations, so get there early to beat the dinner rush. Next time you're in Superior, WI, be sure to check out this place! You won't regret it. read more

We were in the area for a couple of days and stopped by Shamrock Pizza with family on their recommendation as they'd been here before. Wow - this place is authentic and very good. We sat at a really long booth that easily fit 3 adults and a toddler but could have fit 6 adults. Our server was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I ordered a 14" Sausage Mushroom pizza and our family ordered a 14" half Cheese and half Pepperoni pizza. We all also ordered beer. They had some New Glarus brand of beer and I had a really dark Bent Paddle beer. The beer and the pizza were great. My description of the pizza... - This crispy crust, crispy on the edges and soft in the middle - Pizzas were cooked until cheese was truly browned - loved that - Next time, I'd order extra sausage. I felt it was a bit sparse and no way to get a piece of it on each piece of pizza We' love to come here again. If you're in the area and have yet to try this place - do it! read more

Very nice place. Had been upgraded a lot and very nice looking as well as built with the comfort of the customer and a happy and satisfying experience to boot . I remember as a young man this was a bar restaurant room in back we use to play cards in with a group of guys drinking pitchers of beer . I had heard a lot about this place. This was our first visit and somehow, despite all the notices about not taking plastic, we didn't see it until we were ready to order. Their ATM charges $3/ transaction. The place is very nice and clean. They have the most gigantic and beautiful hanging baskets and flower filled window boxes in front and plenty of parking; very clean restrooms and overall very pleasant throughout. We had a veggie pizza with banana peppers added. It was good, with the exception of the crust. The edges were great, but a couple inches in was just wet and soggy. Our server was nice and kudos for having paper straws and using foil to wrap take home instead of foam. I noticed the take pizzas were going out with a flat pizza bag over the pie. Mostly regulars were picking up, I believe, so I think it's expected. read more

Being a restaurant guy by career for forty years I kinda rolled my eyes when it was touted to me but to my surprise, I couldn't believe a pizza that I haven't quite tasted like the uniqueness that Shamrock has. Not just one of the varieties but all that I tried: Ham, pepperoni, *Cheeseburger, *Hawaiian, *House special. *=one of a kind recipe. The Cheeseburger pizza is served with pickles on the side and peppers with the house. All pizzas cut in squares which makes it easy to share, sauce is hard to compare, secret recipe and it shows. Crust is crunchy but a little airy not thin crust but delicious, cheese is great whatever mix used. Wow, wonderful memories brought back as we devoured terrific pizzas. I grew up about a block away from The Rock working in the bar while attending college. I may be a bit biased but we had pizzas for supper last night in St. Paul at our Minnesota home. A good friend brought some partially-baked pies from the homeland. WONDERFUL!!! My parents started going here when it opened in the mid 1950's. Rarely do restaurants make it even 10 years nowadays. I am 45 years old and have been going here about 2-3 times a year since I was a kid in the late 80's. The pizza has on original flavor and taste like no other pizza I can find in my years. We're Superior locals, and Shamrock has been our consistent favorite pizza joint for many years. Our guests from out of town look forward to our group gatherings at Shamrock and the food and service is always excellent. We recently picked up eighteen pizzas to take-out for our grand-daughter's 4th birthday party, and they gladly prepared them earlier than their normal working hours. 3 strikes and you're out. Over the past 10 years, I have had 3 pizza's from Shamrock. I keep thinking it will be better. I ordered a pepperoni with double cheese to go. The whole thing was dark brown with the edges black. The cheese was so well done that it had melted down so I could see the outline of the pepperoni under it. Never again. read more

Went here last night 6/10/16 based on stellar reviews for area pizza, I got a takeout pizza and if I come here next time, I will dine it. I have to say that I am not a local Superior, WI guy, but I am a native Wisconsinite, and I felt I was not even acknowledged until I had to ask a few people before I even got a menu, and they didn't honor their takeout menu prices because they WERE different, I understand that and I understand the servers were busy, nobody really acknowledged me, or offered me a water or a drink or anything. I think diners who come in without anybody always get treated differently, based on how many times I've seen it and experienced it and observed it with other people. Anyway, for over $20, the Dave's special I ordered wasn't crisp enough and staying somewhere I can't crisp it because of no oven, so it was only nuked and it doesn't get sny crispier that way. The end prices of the pizza were best and the pepperoni was certainly different, they being little, tiny pieces instead of bigger size.
