Wow! My son asked if we could visit a record store and an online search brought us here. I…read moreliterally stood in awe for minutes, taking it all in. I cannot imagine the time involved with organizing and sorting. To say it's impressive is a huge understatement! My son found a few records he'd been searching for, and I bought quite a few. Prices were more than fair and we were given a generous discount at time of purchase. It was fascinating to see so much out there that was new to me. Who knew? There's definitely something here for everyone, but without a doubt our highlight was in meeting the man behind this incredible music store, Ron. It's clear to see his passion for music, and I don't believe there will ever be another place like the one he's created. We spent 4hr flipping through records, and Ron offered to check inventory for anything specific we were unable to find. I was shocked he was able to electronically file this amount of inventory, especially when he knew he had one copy, not yet properly placed on the floor, of a record I wanted. He helped search and kept telling me "if it says I have one, I have one." I finally gave up and told him I'll leave it in God's hands. Five seconds later, Ron shouts "look what I found!" He got a giant hug from me and I told him he's My Hero. (He laughed and said it was luck.) There aren't enough people like Ron left in this world, and if you don't get out and meet him I can assure you it's your loss. I bought everything from Sinatra to Night Ranger and I praise Ron again for finding the Bryan Adams album I had my heart set on finding. I've got two sons with me today and we're currently taking the hour drive out to visit Ron and hopefully buy some records. I've told everyone I know about this amazing place and the man that left me smiling. My mom reminded me people aren't around forever, and said I'd better get out to see him again or I'll regret it because he sounds like a TRUE GEM. GO. BE IN AWE OF THE SHEER VOLUME. SEARCH.FIND.BUY. BE SURE TO TALK WITH RON. HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME, THEN TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO GIVE THIS MAN THEIR BUISNESS.

What fun to go in and experience Horizons Music. Massive selection, great to look at the music and…read morereminisce. Very helpful and found what I was looking for for a Christmas present. The value was great. Bring cash as you get an extra discount but they do take credit cards. Definitely worth stopping in.

Top marks!!!!!! So…read morethis is a local store. I always look forward to digging here. Hard to say what I like best about it. If you are not-too-picky and willing to hunt around, this store is a gem. It has been in business forever. The building is ancient. The upstairs: foreboding. When I was a kid I'd call in to radio contests once in awhile and if you won you had to go claim the album in person. Quad Cities, Galesburg, and here - Burlington, at Weird Harold's. Very large collection of all genres. I routinely find a record here that blows my mind, that it was sitting on the shelf. For who knows how long. Pricing is excellent. Pls don't listen to the fool who complained about prices and political hats. Who cares. It's about the music, period. Yep-new albums are pricey. Welcome to reality. But the used records are priced very well. I have only once asked for them to relook a price and they agreed. Their pricing may be creeping upward but not by much. I encourage y'all to bring in your old records that you don't want so that those who are collecting can buy them...

(or any month for that matter) WEIRD HAROLD'S I have been here twice and both times i almost got lost in the upstairs record collection. There are 4 parts of this store, the first floor has a collection of CD's and some art and framed posters, the 2nd section is half way up the stairs and it is apparently a place to do your own pottery. Haven't checked that out yet but it could be fun. Continue up the stairs to see a GIANT collection of costumes, most of them for rental. If you're two hours away from here and have a costume party to go to, this is the place to go, it didn't seem expensive, like 25 to 50 bucks for a 5 day rental and then you don't clutter your closet with a Mr Potatohead costume. Finally to the right of that is the equally giant collection of records... I don't know you're taste so i won't say they have EVERYTHING but i was finding comedy albums that aren't even on CD. ENJOY Weird Harold's easily one of my favorite places in Burlington.

Review Visit: March 11th, 2015…read more Thankfully they don't sell defective Acme comics.... wait, that sounds familiar. Yep, another Acme Comics post for my blog. This one is fortunately still open and is no way related to the Acme Comics in Normal, IL (which has closed recently). I am bias towards this store as I have been here many times. This store is my first place to scope out used video games. They don't have a large selection of current generation stuff, but they do have a lot of 'retro' games. Think NES, SNES, N64, PS2, Gameboy and the like. Everything is moderately priced, if not sometimes lower/higher than market value. But it's a locally owned business, so I don't mind paying a few more dollars to support a great shop. Since their inventory shifts, there is usually always something new to see when I go in. Lately, I have been getting old GamePro, Nintendo Power, Tips & Tricks magazines for $2 a piece. Talk about a nostalgic trip. They offer a large selection of CDs but they seem to be shying away from those in the more recent years. I believe they also do have vinyl and music dvds as well. I used to purchase a large amount of cds back in the day when they had 4/$10. Still reaping the benefits of that today with a massive music collection. Moving on, this place is a Comic shop first and foremost. While they do sell other things, obviously, I am betting the comic book scene is the bulk of their customers. One of my friends alone has a massive pull list there. I don't know much about comics, but they offer a wall of new arrivals as well as your $0.50 comics. The staff can be a bit inattentive at times, but they never seem bothered when you ask them for help. All in all, a pretty great local shop.

This place is so cool! Definitely check it out if you haven't. They have the most unique selection…read morefor great prices!
