I called and asked if they did their jewelry repairs in house so I wouldn't have to wait so long for the repair to my gold necklace. So, I drive all the way out there in my gas guzzler truck ( I used at least 2 gallons for the drive) ... I get in there in my less than professional attire and had to request service. The pleasant young lady proceeded to help and then just disappeared, she returned and then took my info and then said "I'll be back" and I said please don't disappear ( I just wanted her to take my chain and be off with me) and she stated "that they have customers on the other side and they assist several customers at once". So, after being vacated twice now I await her coming back and she never did so I take my chain and proceed to take off and see her down the way and she sort of smirks at me. Now, I know they weren't going to make any money off me but for customers service sake please just take my necklace and fix it. I read another review about the 'POOR' customer service of this place and having once been in sales I know that this is just a turn and burn sales environment. I did call the manager and complain only because I had spent around $7 in gas alone to be serviced and left with nothing other than two gallons of gas spent and a sore attitude. I came here because I was looking for a wedding band to match my engagement ring. My engagement ring is not a traditional diamond, it is a platinum setting with a sapphire center stone that I both designed and OBVIOUSLY, means a lot to me. You would think that you wouldn't need to say that last part, but I think the salespeople at Shane & Co need to remember this - or at least Amber does. I think that when somebody comes through their door looking to buy a piece of jewelry to compliment another piece of jewelry, the first thing out of their mouth should be to compliment the original piece of jewelry, not to look at it like it's less than or dealing with you is not worth their time. I have spent several hours over the course of a couple of days, waiting for the opportunity for someone from Shane & Co to sell me a wedding band - there's generally a waiting list to add your name to. We showed up a few minutes after they opened on a Saturday, added our name to list, we received a text about 20 minutes later that it was "our turn", waited for another 20 minutes for that salesperson (Amber) to actually talk to us, and then waited another 20 minutes for Amber to finish her transaction with the previous customer... spent about 10-15 minutes with her, looking at options. Admittedly I was looking for something fairly specialized and she did spend some time looking. We weren't having much luck finding what I was looking for, which was a curved platinum band with a few round bezel set diamonds. I was willing to pay to have something custom designed, but this was an option never offered to me. Instead, she she spent some time showing me options they had in the store, took my ring to clean it after I asked her to, and then disappeared. Ooohh....asking her to cleaning my ring, that was fun. She took my ring - a nearly 2 carat sapphire with a round diamond on either side - all bezel set, in platinum... Examined it through her loop, said in a tone, that she "guessed" it was ok to clean, that it appeared "fairly secure"... It was one of the more condescending and insulting things that I've had said to me in recent years while trying to give a local company business. She took my ring to have it cleaned, and then I never saw her again, until I went to the front desk to ask the receptionist if she could see if she could get my ring back for me. Then Amber found me, handed me my ring and told me to have a nice day. She could not have said any louder that she had no interest in my business. The biggest reason I'm posting this is because buying jewelry is a really big choice, you spend a lot of money and you instill a lot of trust in a company. If I can help another individual save time and frustration, then I want to. Still my friend in the jewelry business!!! After so many years together, My husband decided to upgrade my engagement setting. We have been researching on how to upgrade my setting for over a week and we were able to get online help from Josiah and Kwang. After having chat/email sessions, we were able to choose two sets of bands we were interested in, that matched my existing band. We thought it was best to go in to look at them. We went to ShaneCo on Saturday 8/7. When we walked it, there were alot of people. We walked around looking at everything 2x prior to Anthony asking if we have been helped. He was very helpful and very apologetic since they were shorthanded that day. He pulled out one of the settings we wanted to look at and some other settings for us to look at. One of the inital two settings we wanted to view wasn't available and he let us know he could have it transferred over. He was able to help us, all while assisting two other couples as well. Once we choose our upgraded setting, he passed us over to Austin, the assistant manager, who went over different type of loose diamonds. We chose the loose diamond we loved and best setting. We decided to placed it on layaway until we were able to view the other setting Anthony was having transferred over. A few days later I recieved a call from Anthony who let me know that Austin and him will be out on the day I was planning to come in. He ensured me that he will let his coworker know what was going on and she will assist me when we came in. Yesterday, Friday 8/13, we had our appointment to view the setting that came in. tl;dr: I'll be buying engagement and wedding rings from this location very soon. This is a personal story about my recent visit to the Roseville Shane Co. To give some background I'll begin by saying that my partner and I have been planning our marriage for a long time now and had recently decided on shopping around for engagement and wedding rings to kick start the wedding process. My initial feelings about browsing Shane Co. were mixed at best; for one, both my partner and I had absolutely no previous experience in purchasing diamond jewelry, second, because we weren't planning on purchasing anything at the time I was worried that I wouldn't be receiving the highest quality of service, and third, frankly, given my young age I didn't even think I would be taken as seriously as some of the older clientele looking to purchase rings right then and there on the spot. My only goal for the day was to learn more about the whole diamond buying process and get a feel for what kind of engagement ring my soon-to-be fiancé would love. I admit for the first few minutes I felt that my suspicions were partially confirmed. The employees who received us coming through the door were polite enough but I certainly felt a lack of eye contact and urgency as I spoke to them about what I was coming in for. After waiting a while we were introduced to one of the many jewelry consultants on staff and my partner and I spoke to them about our goals for the day. After a few minutes of speaking the consultant let us know that they wouldn't be able to dedicate their full attention to helping us, stating that they were in the middle of helping another couple, and asked us to wait for someone else who was available. It was at this moment that my partner and I were introduced to Walter Sally and our experience at Shane Co. changed drastically for the better. When we first met Walter I immediately let him know that our focus for the day was to learn about the diamond buying process and that we weren't looking to purchase anything that day. After having explained our goals, Walter nodded in agreement and then promptly led us over to a counter filled with a dozen stunning rings on display and started a literal crash course on the whole diamond and ring selection process. I am by no means exaggerating when I say that Walter literally broke down the entire selection process step by step for us. His explanations were easy to follow (he provided a pen and paper for note-taking) and at various times he would bring out diamonds (six or seven if I remember correctly) as examples in comparing their characteristics in relation to one another. Walter gave us a full understanding of how the cut, color, clarity, and shape of a diamond all fit together in the selection process to ensure the perfect diamond for your 'someone special. He was very generous with letting my partner try on multiple different rings to gauge for herself what she did and didn't like, and for an extra special touch, he even taught us how to use some of the same tools used in the examination of diamonds. Along with just being a fun person to be around, Walter was also very receptive to our questions about the selection process going as far as to advise against some of the more inexperienced decisions I considered making at the time, even at the expense of a profit, all because he believed that an expensive ring doesn't necessarily translate to the perfect ring for our individualized needs and values. That sentiment led me to believe that I was well taken care of that day. Though I walked out of the store without purchasing anything, Shane Co. certainly earned a client for years to come. Upon leaving I felt more knowledgeable about the diamond selection process, I felt as though I learned the various pros and cons to each different ring style, and I feel as though gained a general sense that whenever I do come back to make the big purchase, that I'd be conducting my business with a company that certainly deserves it. As a side note, later that night I decided to browse the Shane Co. website and I noticed that it's actually possible to book a one-hour appointment to have a jewelry consultant meet with you about any upcoming purchases you may plan to make. This discovery led me to believe that we were given the same type of individualized service from a walk-in basis, which is quite incredible in my book and likely not the norm. Having been born and raised in the Bay Area I used to recite the entire outro to the Shane Co. radio commercial with my mom whenever it played during our commutes to school and work. Horrible return policy and customer service. I purchased a wedding ring for my fiancée in several months ago and long story short, the wedding was canceled. I attempted to return the ring which was never worn and was told that because it was outside of the 60 day return window, the best they could do was weigh it and pay me for the value of the metal and diamonds so they could melt it down and re-purpose it. I was shocked when I was offered $53 dollars back on the $615 dollar wedding band that I purchased. Now I have to try to sell it myself to recoup some of the money I lost. My soldier son in law asked me to pick up some earrings for my daughter at Ben Bridges at the Galleria Mall in Roseville. He was in Iraq. While I was waiting, a salesman asked if I wanted my diamond ring cleaned. My ring has two rows of 20 channel set diamonds. He took it and then asked me to listen as he shook it in my ears. All the diamonds were rattling around. He asked when I had it checked and tightened. I said never in 18 years! He told me they had no onsite jeweler and it woukd have to be sent out. I told him not to do the work until I approve the estimate. Two weeks passed and I didn't hear anything. Beginning to worry, I called and no one knew where my ring was. He called back and said it was still at jewelers. The bottoms of the 20 diamonds had jiggled so much that the points wore off! More gold would have to be poured into the ring. My estimate was $300! Sounded fishy so I said, No! My husband and I would be in to get my ring tomorrow. We entered store and no one could find my ring. Finally Ted said that we were going to have lunch at Cheesecake Factory and that ring better be in the store or he was going to call the police. After lunch We took the ring and left. Then I got the idea of taking it to Shane Co. On North Sunrise. I had bought the ring at Shane Co. In Portland, OR. 18 years earlier! I ordered a ring as a special order to surprise my wife for our anniversary. To ensure the piece would arrive in time, I ordered it almost six months in advance. I was told the time for completion would be four to six weeks. After six weeks, I called to check the status and was told it had not been delivered yet, but I was assured I would be contacted as soon as it arrived. After another two weeks, I called again, and again was told it had not been delivered, and again was assured I would be contacted as soon as it arrived. After waiting another two to three weeks, I called again and was again told it had not arrived, but I would be contacted. This time, I didn't let them rush me off the phone, and I told them it was long past the promised date and asked for someone to please research what the status of the order was. I was promised a call back later that day, which never happened. The next day, I called again and again asked to speak to someone who could tell me what was going on with the order. Again, I was promised a call back and again, it never happened. That day, I drove to the store and asked to speak to a manager, as showing up in person was clearly the only way I was going to get an answer. After speaking to the salesperson who greeted me, I was told a manager would be with me shortly. I waited well over half an hour for the manager to speak to me. When the manager finally spoke to me, she delivered the bad, but obviously inevitable news: the piece had still not been delivered. In fact, the order was never placed by the original salesperson. I was told the original salesperson ordered the piece out of a catalog that "they don't use," so the order was never placed (despite the fact that I had an invoice and an order form printed from their computer system, and I had already paid the full price of the piece). By this point, getting a special order or a custom piece was virtually impossible in the time that was now left before my anniversary. They were profusely apologetic, and explained that the piece was never ordered because of the original employee's error, and that employee no longer worked for the company. However, this problem clearly extended beyond one employee. How was an employee even able to process an order from a catalog that "they don't use?" Also, there is clearly no system in place to ensure that overdue orders are checked on, or that orders taken by an employee are in fact placed. But the biggest problem is that any of the employees I contacted throughout this odyssey could have followed up to see if something was wrong with the order, instead of just telling me over and over, "we'll call you when it arrives." No one took the extra time to investigate whether there was in fact a problem with the order, even though I called several times and spoke to different people. The manager offered to have a custom piece made and to do everything she could to have it done in time, but by that time my trust was completely shattered. I was able to get another jeweler in town to make the piece I wanted, at a comparable price, in less time, and with fantastic communication throughout the process. Only due to the work of the other jeweler was my milestone anniversary gift not ruined. If you shop here to buy something off the shelf, you'll probably be fine, but they clearly do not have a system in place to ensure that custom pieces and special orders are properly tracked, so I would never trust them for anything that matters. read more

Suffice it to say, I have a fiance who has a very particular eye for style and personalization, which is one of the traits I love most about her. But understandably, this can present challenges to both the consumer and consultant for obvious reasons. Walter was an absolute saint. His comforting demeanor was only surpassed by his vast knowledge of his craft and ability to put his finger on the pulse of his clients. Being that Shane Co's consultants are non-commissioned, there is absolutely no pushy sales tactics or attempts to get you out the door with a purchase "by any means". If anything, it was quite the opposite. Walter took to the time to walk us through the entire process (and the entire display case, for that matter), ensuring that my fiance was nothing less than satisfied with every facet of her ring. From discovering information about her likes/dislikes to presenting various options and even infusing his own flavor and expertise, he was with us every step of the way to provide impeccable service and, perhaps above all, a wonderful experience. His energy is very warm, his communication style is amazing, and it goes without saying that we walked out of the building beyond satisfied with both our experience and our purchase. In fact, he was so good, he ended up getting my fiance to get ME trying on wedding rings, and we left after purchasing BOTH of our wedding rings. I have been a customer of Shane Co. since 2014. This is by far the worst experienced I have ever received. I walked in and someone finally greeted me after a few minutes of being there. No one was in the area until this time. Tiffany finally came over and told me she would be helping me. She helped me for a minute asking what I needed. I told her I needed to have my ring cleaned and to have it resized. She advised me she had to get her computer and would be right back. 7 minutes later she comes back with no computer, but instead of coming back to me she starts assisting another customer who just got there. She finally makes her way back to me and gets the ring sizer. She tells me measures my finger and tells me she will clean my rings. She continues to help other customers. She made her way back after 10 more minutes. She then tells me she has to talk to her manager. This take another 10 minutes. She told me she does not recommend resizing it because my size is going to fluctuate anyways(I'm pregnant). I told her I have always done this and it is my 3rd pregnancy. She says she will be right back and leaves again. She finally comes back with her computer and looks up my account. She then tells me she has to go talk to her manager again!!! She continues to help other people. Finally another associate comes to me and asks if I have been helped. I advised him I has been waiting awhile and that the girl helping me is helping someone else. She comes back to me about 14 minutes later and tells me she has to now talk to the jeweler and see if they will resize it. Again she leaves and returns awhile later. She tells me they can resize it but now I will have to pay $$ to have it resized!!!!! At this point I am pretty annoyed. I drove 45 minutes to come here and now I am going to get charged??!? The entire experience of shopping at Shane Co. is far better than any other jeweler I've visited. They have a huge selection and you can basically build your own ring, by picking the setting and choosing which diamond you would like separately. This allows you to stay in a certain budget and get exactly what you want. When I was looking at other jewelers they did have that option some of the time, but mostly were prebuilt rings. And a lot of their diamonds were cloudy looking to the naked eye. Out of all the diamonds that they showed me, they were all very high-quality. They have an abundance of staff to help you. I went to other jewelers and was looking for 10 to 15 minutes before anyone either acknowledged me or was able to help me. I don't think we could have had any better experience here! We looked at rings at a couple other jewelers first and felt very pressured and left "in the dark" about important details of the diamonds and what exactly we were paying for. At Shane Co, we were educated throughly on the diamond purchasing process, what makes one diamond more expensive than others, etc. It made it easy to choose specifically what diamond we wanted because we knew all of the details. This place was Amazing an you can go in an ask for HANNA she's completely AWESOME! My husband took me here for Valentine's day an much to my surprise he wanted to get me a diamond tennis bracelet, out of our price range. HANNA to the rescue she showed us other products available in our range. We walked out with 1 necklace 1 bracelet 1 ring an a set of earnings at a steal. This review is way overdue! Its taken me 6 months to finally give kudos to how the management handled my situation. Without going into too much details, it involved a rather new employee that didn't follow the appropriate steps. Although the employee never apologized the assistant manager contacted me in a reasonable time and the manager took care of the rest. It was an emotional ordeal and appreciate how they handled it. We make a handful of purchases there and I will continue to do business there. read more

We have been Shane Co customers for about 4 years now, and this last visit definitely reminded me why we are staying!! they're very professional, very welcoming and they actually care!! The lady who helped me with my last visit I came in to change my 4 prongs to 6 and also I changed my engagement ring setting to higher so its not too low with my new wedding band I just got. I explained to her what I wanted, how I wanted the prongs to hold my diamond and she actually took a note of that plus she added in the notes to the guys who will be setting my diamond that she wanted to see the ring for approval before I come in to pick it up. That was very thoughtful and I really did appreciate it. When I came in to pick it up I was in awe how beautiful the ring was!!! The craftsmanship is just so perfect!!!!
