I haven't been in here in about ten or so years and then about last week I decided to stop in for something different. The staff was so kind and the food was great. Not what I would call bad but not great either. The wings while not dry are lacking a lot of smoke flavor. Almost has if they are brined in something with liquid smoke but I could be wrong. To be fair to them, I like a lot of smoke on my food and since I smoke food at home, there will be a bias that any real bbq aficionado will immediately notice. I will say the wings were larger than I expected. If you like a light smoke flavor this could be ok for you. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location appeared clean but it's more of a fast food bbq experience. It's a solid 3 to maybe 3.5 which is about where the average at the time of this reviews as it. Our whole meal was terrible. Worse service here. I ordered a 6 piece buff-q wings with sweet potato fries. Mine came out with bbq sauce which I had them take it back to get it fixed. They "fixed" it by putting another sauce on top of the already sauced wings. Still very sweet. Not done correctly. I could see the divide in the sauces saturated on the plate. They took my plate back again but didn't include my sweet potatoes fries that I paid an up charge for on the return. Whatever I was just ready to go. My husband's fries and sandwich were almost room temperature getting to the table. Good thing he didn't wait for my food to get straight to start eating. His portion of fries was not much more than a small fry at McDonald. Our son's portion of fries was normal for the restaurant. My son never got his ranch for his wings. I got my blue cheese but had to ask for it. They did make it right on the fries by bring my husband more out that were fresh and offered a cobble or something else instead of fixing my wings. It will be a long time before we visit again. Seems like the only person working is the lady at counter taking orders and delivering the food. Never saw a manager. read more

The onion rings were cold at first but they brought out a fresh batch when I complained so I give them some extra brownie points for that. They were crispy and delicious when hot. The macaroni and cheese was a step above Kraft. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I would definitely come back. They have a huge outdoor patio which is great for big groups make sure you check it out if the weather is great I would definitely recommend sitting outside. There's a huge parking lot across from the restaurant so you don't have to worry about finding a space. read more

Went here a week ago and the food looked amazing to the point the half chicken resembled the image on the board. Gone in there today and ordered the same smoked half chicken and received a plate that looked like the dog ate it or needs to be given to a dog. You will not serve me that. Then some of the staff have an attitude cause I asked for another chicken and one that's cooked a little longer...Nah miss u could eat that and give me my money back. Then to be told the manager's not there and nobody knows how to do a refund, and asked if she should him. I kindly said yes and she called and talked them through refunding my money...hopefully it was done right cause she gave me a receipt with the order purchase I made. And I actually liked that place. Only complaint is I ordered on line and arrived at designated time, gave cashier my name and she said it wasn't ready. App said it was I waited and asked again it had been sitting there all along. I went here last night with my Dad. We both had ribs which were fine. They no longer offer Brunswick Stew as a side, which my Dad loves. He was disappointed when the order girl told him. Why did she have to mention that they haven't offered that side for 6 months? Was she trying to make us feel stupid? Very odd. Didn't work, lady. Another oddity - the ribs came out as a slab, uncut. I've never seen that before in my whole BBQ-loving life. huh. Staff was nice enough. Doubt I return until the Brunswick Stew makes a reappearance. Sorry, I like to see my Dad happy. read more

Usually get the half chicken platter which is normally pretty good and consist of a whole half chicken and two sides. Order two half chicken platters but received chicken pieces that consisted of a very small dried out breast, one leg and a small part of a thigh (maybe). Wasn't quite sure what it was. Regardless, the sum of the parts did not equal a half chicken. The normally very good baked beans were simply beans, no sauce. I hope this was just an off night and not the new norm. Regardless, if I order again, I'll check to see if they are serving a true half chicken or chicken pieces. read more

I absolutely love Shane's, but tonight it was terrible. Not the food, but the service. The management really messed up today. There were only 4 people working, on a Saturday night??!! What were they thinking. The workers need to be paid double. They were working their butts off!! There was a spill on the floor (dangerous) that was not being mopped up, the trash containers were overflowing with trash stacked on top and the tables were not being cleaned. If the management stays like this, I'll not be going back. Please straighten your act up!!! read more

I can be labeled a "Shaniac" by as many visits I have made to this BBQ chain over the last few years. I always look forward to the sauces - original (sweet, tangy, vinegar base with some tomatoey to it), spicy - (like the original except with more black pepper), mustard, and a Shack Sauce (have to ask for it - like Zax sauce but waaaayyy better). Some locations also have a honey and hot sauce. In my opinion, the best Shane's has to offer is found in their half-chicken and chicken fingers. The chicken fingers can be tossed 6 different ways. I usually get the sampler that comes with chicken tenders, pork, and ribs. The pork is usually very tender and juicy. The ribs are ok at best, which is hilarious since it's called a rib shack. I really enjoy the potato salad, cole slaw, and fried okra as the best sides. Today, I decided to try the Shaniac burger. It has pork and slaw on top of a cheeseburger. The burger was bigger than I expected and with the pork and slaw, it was awesome. The only complaint is that the burger seemed to be a pre-made frozen patty instead of a fresh, hand-made one. Nevertheless, I was quite pleased with it. The service was excellent as well. The manager came by and spoke with me. There is a rewards program they have which with so many visits, you will get a free sandwich. Also, there are lunch specials Monday - Thursday. And the sweet tea is really good and has a little bit of peach flavor to it. You should think about becoming a Shaniac too. read more

This is not even remotely BBQ and the fact it is called a Rib Shack is unintelligible to me. Had the sampler. The best thing on the plate was the chicken tenders. Not as good as the Chick Fil A across the street or the Zaxby in this plaza and on par with those of the McDonalds in this plaza. Not a good thing to say about a rib shack. The bbq pork tasted like the stuff reheated out of those little plastic tubs you buy at the grocery store. But was second best. The slaw tasted exactly like that Stuff you get at the grocery store. Nothing special and barely average even with the grocery store as the standard. The baked beans taste as they are straight out of a bush's can with some extra onion chunks added. Average maybe. The Texas toast horrible. No sign of grilling. No butter. Just a dry touch on the flattop. Finally the worst of all- the ribs. Hands down the worst i have ever seen in my thousands of rib samplings. Atrocious. No flavor. Tasted boiled and then baked. Low quality of meat. The membrane on the back still there so the ribs couldn't be cut or separated. The employees are nice and that is all i can say positive. Keep driving and eat something else - this was beyond disappointing. read more

I'm a huge fan of Shanes Rib Shack! They have great Bar B Que. My favorite is the Big Dad which is a huge sandwich on Texas Toast served with triangle-cut fries on the side. As with most good ole southern style restaurants, they serve fresh-brewed sweet iced tea! I also love their chicken fingers. Their brunswick stew is not so great in my opinion. read more

Skimpy portions though the quality of the pork was ok I guess. Sauce was ok as well; nothing exceptional. On the pulled pork plate there was enough meat to make a decent $2.00 BBQ sandwich, but hardly a $10.00 meal. Fries were frozen, just like you get at McDonalds. Only one slice of bread. Slaw was bland and flavorless. The worst was the Brunswick Stew. Overpowered with vinegar and absolutely inedible. Nothing remotely like anything I've ever thought of as being Brunswick Stew even. Sad thing is, a few years ago the place was among the best in town. The service was pretty good and the manager did ask about the overall experience. I decided to just chalk the whole thing up to experience. The only bright spot, my dog seemed to like the fries ok when I brought the sad remnants home, but even she couldn't stomach the stew. read more

I've visit this location a total of four time and I have enjoyed each visit. Staff is always friendly. Food is not your homemade BBQ but is still pretty good! I recently tried the chicken tenders and my eyes lit up at how juicy they were, I was so happy. However, today I tried the peach cobbler and i was very unsatisfied! I feel like I waisted my money on mush because that's what I got, a pretty nice size portion of mush mixed in with about 4 peaches and a little crumble of the crust on top. So, dont waist your money on the peach cobbler but everything else is good! read more

Birthday party for 8 people last night. Have loved ribs and had great experience for 2 years. Was very disappointed and embrassed about the ribs last night. I had really bragged on the food to my family. My ribs were burned beyond eatable. Charcoal on bones and the back was completely charged. 2 other plates the bones were chared but the meat was ok. Sommoned an employee And told her not eatable. Simple response was I can bring you Another plate. And did. But they were not as tender as all the other times we were there. Bread missing on one plate . Baked beans were dryed out and French fry were limp. We have always had good food and good service but last night really was a failure. Will probably be back just to see if just a bad night. No one came around to ask how everything was or to check on us. read more
