Had lunch there today (4/6/2020) had the sampler(ribs, tenders, pulled pork, Mac n cheese and fried okra) food was great. House made buff-q sauce is awesome. Their spicy BBQ Sauce is great as well. Nice heat with great flavor. This was my first time getting food here. Had to eat in my car due to current events so I can speak on customer service as my interaction was very limited. Had a very negative experience today @ Shane's Rib Shack in Ooltewah. I received an email for a free birthday offer & was craving a BBQ meal so my wife & I went to dine & celebrate. Upon ordering, the first person was very nice but ask for help when I showed him my email & he didn't know how to do it in their POS system. A second person actually refused the offer, stating that the "offer had expired" & did not allow us the reward even though there was no documentation / proof of expiration date on the email nor in the app. My birthday was only seven days ago. We left & went to another restaurant to celebrate. I'm still confused & will certainly remember this in the future. A free meal is a free meal on the 3rd, 10th, 22nd, or the 31st. Solid place with the best barbecue in town. The only problem is the wait time and that is easily overshadowed by the quality of the food.

This is a great place to go when your money is tight. My in-laws have taken us there twice now it is a lovely restaurant and great atmosphere. Food is great for the price. Would totally recommend this place to people that love grilled and bbq and have little money. read more

They are so friendly here - I've dined at this location several times and the service is always great. (Some of the other Cambridge Square businesses should take notes!) What I love about eating here is that it's incredibly spacious. There's also a large variety of sauces to choose from. I stick to the bbq but the burgers are great as well. The Dining Divas went to lunch Wednesday June 5th at Shane's Rib Shack in Ooltewah. There were 6 of us and we were seated immediately. This is not a full service restaurant but after placing your order at the counter, the staff is very attentive. They bring your meal to the table and come back often to ask about refills or any other needs. The atmosphere is bright and comfortable. The BBQ is to die for, it is flavorful and tender. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. The owner, Chad, come to our table several times and informed us all the meat is smoked in house. They have pork and chicken but not beef. Every so often Chad will have Brisket but it is for special occasions. If you are not very hungry they will let you order from the kids menu. One Divas asked for an extra piece of Texas Toast and they brought it to her at no charge. They really care about pleasing theirs customers. We rated Shane's Rib Shack a 5 out of 5. If you have not been, do yourself a favor and go. Be sure to have the homemade peach cobbler, it will make you want to smack your grandmaw Lol read more

We have been to the Ooltewah location several times and always walk away pleased with the food and the service! We have tried several menu items from salad to chicken to BBQ to burgers and all have met our expectations. We were a little apprehensive on ordering a burger at a BBQ restaurant but was pleased with the size and taste! Would definitely recommend to our friends and family. read more

Wanted to try Shane's Rib Shack so I decided I would get lunch to try it out. Oh I was not disappointed! The service was top notch. Everyone smiled and so helpful and friendly. And the food was amazing!!!! I tried the Shack Sampler. You get ribs, chicken tenders, your choice of pulled pork or chicken and two sides. I had the fries and coleslaw. All of it was incredible! The ribs were my favorite. They were juicy and tender the meat just fell off the bones. So very good. The chicken tenders were so good nice and juicy not dried out like so many tend to be. And the breading was just right, not over whelming but oh so tasty! The pulled pork was good nothing really special about it. The fries and coleslaw were also very tasty. You'd be surprised how often places screw those simple dishes up. Not to worry here though. It's all good!! read more

It's not a fancy place (there are other pricier places in the area) but the atmosphere is nice--clean, not loud, friendly and attentive staff (that don't seem to turn over that often for a quick food place). I came in after a massive rain storm and first time ever eating at a Shane's Rib Shack. I seen they had a chicken potato and for the price was thanking it would be loaded with sour cream and chives. The guy said it would be a 15 minute wait. He said you can have a seat and he will bring it to me, ok. The food took like 2 minutes and stone cold chicken and no loaded potato just chicken and cheese. So as a first time I would have to say 2 1/2 star because the fry's were hot but for a $15 meal and cold chicken. read more

My husband and I got the Big Dad we both loved the pork and the sauce. The portions are fantastic! When they say they give more they do. I hate to admit it but the sandwich which (ha) was on Texas toast was so filled with meat we actually both had enough meat left to have for a snack later, my husband liked that too. My son got a cheeseburger and it was huge and looked like actual real hamburger just made. He said it was the best burger in a long time. He paid too so it was really reasonable. I mean no one should go to McDonalds when they can get meals for the same price and of really good quality and they were fast. I cannot wait to go back and eat in. Great place!! read more

We love Shane's. It's constantly good. The prices are reasonable. Everyone has always been friendly. We probably frequent 3 times a month

Eh I wasn't super impressed. The selection was pretty slim on everything beside pork. No even beef brisket which would seem like a barbecue place staple. While we were there however we were treated kindly and had nice prompt service. Everyone greater us with a smile checked on us a few times. I've since heard their wings are really good so I'm not counting it out completely until I try the wings. But for me they need to broaden the menu a bit. read more

Just moved to Ooltewah and our neighbor recommended that we visit. We certainly were not disappointed. The meal was fantastic. I had the Shaniac burger, my wife had the All American burger and my boys had the smoked wings. The burgers were amazing but after stealing a smoked wing, I was envious that I did not order them. We went one night when it was really busy and there were no seats. The cashier went and rearranged extra seats in order to make us a table. That out of his way service impressed me. I have to say this is the best rib place I've been to in Tennessee. The customer service was way above average and the food was amazing! In a city full of excellent barbecue options I think Shane's can definitely hold its own. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. I got the sampler platter with chicken, pulled pork and ribs. I really liked that they had the option of grilled chicken tenders instead of just fried. And the grilled chicken strips were by far the best part of the meal which is impressive for chicken at a barbecue spot. The other meat was good too but I was very disappointed with the amount. The pulled pork was fine- 4 oz is 4 oz, but the ribs are supposed to be a quarter rack. I asked at the register how many bones that would be and told that it was 4 which was what I wanted. However, when I received the plate it was only 3 little tiny end bones. So while I paid for what I was told would be four bones I got what was the equivalent of MAYBE 2 bones worth of meat. I was extremely disappointed. Ribs are my favorite thing to get whenever I go for barbecue so to only get a couple of end bones was sorely disappointing. read more

Food is great and so is atmosphere. Went during the week and food tasted just as good as a busy weekend day, unlike some restaurants. Highly recommend the Big Pork Sandwich and Mixed Rib platter. Only recommendation for location is to install a hook in the women's bathroom because women with kids need a place to hang a diaper bag! read more

This is the best service I think I have ever seen. They are just so incredibly nice there, and every time. The food is very good, the brunswick stew is very meaty. The smoked wings are yummy, and they have a nice kids meal (which is good when you have three year old twins). We haven't had a bad meal there, but they always treat us very well. Since they opened I think my family has eaten there 6 times. I would recommend this place to anyone, even if you don't like BBQ you can find something you'll like. Give them a try. read more
