We had heard this was a great place on the lake so my family arrived by boat for lunch and the server was friendly but the menu was very limited. What kind of diner can't make a patty melt or have lemonade? Our food took over 45 min to arrive & it was not that busy. We'd been told their pie was their specialty but when we ordered, she said they only had one piece left - keep in mind it was early afternoon - so we ordered it & she came back 10 min later and said it was gone. We went way out of our way to experience what we'd heard was a great place and we left having eaten with my kids still hungry b/c of their portions & near tears b/c they'd been looking forward to pie the whole time. My family and I went to cafe on 7/26/25. The waitress was rude and racist to me and my interracial family. Another waitress joined in with her and had the same attitude. If you want this to be a white only restaurant put a sign up racism is old and dumb. This was our first and last time going here. read more

For a small marine setting cafe it ranks high. I'd give it 5 stars except we wee not staying at the resort. We only dined at the cafe three times in a three day period. We were camping at Denby Point with plenty staples of our own. But, this little cafe was so good for breakfast and lunch... Coffee is not watered down, which is important if you're spending the day on the lake. The eggs, bacon and sausage just the way I like them. Keto friendly options to boot! Come in, seat yourself, the staff are on top of it. As busy as they are we were able to manage getting a seat by the large windows. It's nice to view the lake while dining. It's June and above average temps make the a/c much appreciated. Try the daily specials, the hamburger is juicy and delicious accompanied by fries that are most delicious! Oh and a big thanks to Becky, a 45 yr veteran of the Cafe/Resort! Oh and did I mention the wide selection of homemade pies... Too many to name them all. We had coconut and it was amazing. read more

NOT SERVICE DOG FRIENDLY!! I came in on June 22, 2025 with my service dog. I was greeted by an elderly lady who asked me what kind of service dog pearl was. I initially thought she was being friendly, and I explained to her that she was a psychological service dog. She then told me told me I could not bring my dog in. I explained to her that this was not an emotional support dog she was a registered service dog and that she could legally not keep me out of the restaurant. She argued with me and said she could Legally keep me out of the restaurant, but that if I promised the dog would not be running around the restaurant, I could take the dog in the dining room. What what How gracious of her! When we went into the restaurant and sat down, I sat her and I as close to the wall as possible, and had my dog lay down against the wall. Then the waitress came over and told me that my service dog had to be under the table. I asked her why, and she said she needed to be able to walk around the table. There was no room to walk around the side of the table where my dog was laying we were against the wall. I asked her why I was being harassed for having a service dog. These people need to educate themselves on the laws regarding service dogs. This could be a potential lawsuit for them in the future! We walked out without eating. I've never been treated so unprofessionally with my service dog. We travel all over the United States. We have been in some fine dining establishments. She flies with me and no one has ever given me any grief over her. Hugely disappointed! read more

Very nice lake front restaurant with excellent views. We did not stay at the lodge, but did eat at the restaurant. The food exceeded our expectations, I had fried catfish and it was very tasty, and my wife had fried shrimp, which had a very crusty but batter and wash so good. After 4 PM baked potatoes are an option which we had and found these also to be very good. We noticed several other patrons around us ordered onion rings, and they looked to be fresh battered and huge. I would also rate the service as exceptional and the prices are more than reasonable. We will definitely have this on our trip list and return in the future, I highly recommend it. read more

We love visiting and enjoying the great cuisine here. We always bring pie home with us. Definitely recommend staying here, clean rooms and friendly service. Looking forward to our next weekend here! We've tried every item on the menu and have no complaints. The apple, cherry, coconut and blueberry pies are superb. I'm sure the others are as well but we keep ordering our favorites lol. Excellent!! Went with friends that took fish for restaurant to cook!! They did an EXCELLENT job!! They provided salad or coleslaw, French fries or other options, and hush puppies!! The fish was wonderful and all the sides were very good! The pie is GREAT, especially the coconut!! The service was outstanding!! Their other food also very good!! Highly recommend!! Will close mid November until early February! Stopped in May with friends and we only ate pie!! Their pie is AMAZING!! Coconut is best anywhere! Great restaurant! Had the hot roast beef on toast. Most of the time roast beef is fatty and hard to eat but this roast beef was not as such. It was covered in a homemade gravy that added mountains of flavor to the sandwich. View of the lake was nice while eating and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The best part was the pie. They had numerous types of pie ranging from Apple to blueberry. I had the lemon pie and loved it. That is why this place gets 5 stars! read more

Been coming here for years and my mother-in-law has been coming since she was little. Pies are homemade every morning and delicious. You may want to reserve one as soon as you get there...butterscotch, peanut butter, banana, and coconut go fast. Fish is always wonderful. Staff is rude, prices high, and food is terrible. Never been talked to so rudely by a server in my life -- been around the world to a million restaurants from LA to NYC all the way to France -- but this place takes home the gold for most unprofessional, rude, classless staff on earth. I still left a 10 dollar tip cause I still have class and human decency, not that my server cared at all. Asked for a cup of coffee and she said "you're too impatient for me" in the rudest eye rolling tone possible while shaking her head -- I had no idea asking for a cup of coffee from a server was such a burden in an empty restaurant with 2 other tables to serve, but I digress. Don't waste your time driving out to the dump. Pie case had flies landing on the pie so if you're into fly pie, be my guest and drive on up! Wish I could've snapped a pic of the flies covering the pie but I couldn't wait to get out of there. If I could give this place zero stars I would. read more
