I had the Cheeseburger, Onion Rings and a Coke Zero. Even though this place is nonstop busy, the staff is fast and friendly. Looking at their menu, I was completely surprised with the variety of food choices. They have anything from the usual burgers and chili dogs, to catfish dinners, chicken fried steak and fried or grilled chicken. If it's too busy inside, they have a walk up window and several picnic tables to the side of their building. I would be remiss if I didn't mention their ice cream. We absolutely love this little small town stop. Milkshakes of every flavor, so many options and different appetizers to choose from. My favorite would have to be the jalapeño poppers. It reminds me of Dairy Queen meets mom and pop but way better quality. It has inside seating and outside covered seating. You can order inside or out. We come back to eat here many times and always have fantastic, friendly service from smiling faces. They treat our kids kindly and make delicious food. Cute diner joint. In town so decided to give it a try. Double bacon cheeseburger was huge. Oh wait, did I say bacon? None to be found anywhere. Cajun fries were just ok, just not crispy at all. Big menu with lots of options. Tons of different options for shakes and ice cream around and it's a great place to stop by in Mount Ida. The atmosphere in the place is really similar to a diner I have back in home that really makes it feel comfortable. We drove over to Mount Ida to check out the crystal shops and found this cool little place. It said it's been there since 1958 a old fashion burger joint with all kinds of ice cream. Unfortunately we had just eaten or I would have gotten me a burger. So my wife and I got cones and our granddaughter got a hot fudge sundae. She usually orders extra hot fudge but you don't have to here there was more than enough. We bought some t shirts and will wear them proudly. The Fries are awful with some type of powder coating. I spent almost 75 there and it was the worst 75 dollars I ever Spent on Food. Its sad that Freddy's, five guys, wendys, and even Steak and shake have fresh never frozen hamburgers. This Place is a total rip off. I mean the Chicken Tenders come right out of a freezer. I guess it would be okay but I have had better chicken tenders at walmart deli or Chesters truck stop chicken. If I could I would give this place zero stars. I'm not the kind of person to leave reviews. But this is by far the absolute worst place I've ever gotten food from. I've gotten a fly in my food before so I didn't come back for a while. Now it's hard for me to even get food from here. But I gave in because it's pretty much the only place open in mount Ida on Sunday. So I just got a wrap today thinking how hard could it be to mess that up, but there was hardly any chicken and lettuce in it, maybe 5 pieces of chicken. I do not recommend wasting your money on this place. And I work at a diner so I'm not the one to complain or be a Karen. They should get better employment that's for sure. read more

Stopped by for a burger after a camping trip. Their cheeseburger combo meal is expensive. $9 for an average meal. I ordered cheeseburger, extra pickles, and tater tots. The hubs ordered cheeseburger with NO pickles and fries. Neither of us got what we ordered. Didn't want to take it up with person who took our order, because it would have taken a long time to it get a new order, and we were HANGRY. Dairyette seems to be a small family owned shop; as well as the only burger spot in this area, and it gets busy. The problem is that you can order your food from a window outside or order inside, but they have one person taking orders at both spots. This means it takes a long time to get your order in, and just as long to get your food. Our friend ordered a cheeseburger meal right after us, and was still waiting after we finished our meals! *Tip* They have a $5 minimum if you're using your card. read more

Passing through Mt. Ida on a motorcycle trip with friends. Lunchtime so decided to stop and get a bite before hitting the road again. A few of us decided on burgers and gave this place a try. Reminded me of old local burger joints/drive-ins when I was growing up. Place started to get pretty busy shortly after we arrived. Dining room was closed due to Covid-19 restrictions, but they have several picnic tables available, mostly in the shade. Staff: Neither overly friendly or cheerful but certainly not rude. I had a feeling they knew the rush was about to begin and they no time for cheerful banter. Food: You never now with these places how big the meat patties are going to be, so I ordered the double cheeseburger with fries with a strawberry lemonade to drink. Patties were bigger than expected so it was a pretty thick burger. Burger was really pretty good. Not the best I have ever eaten, but definitely a good burger. The fries were just average. One of our friends got onion rings and said they were really good. The Strawberry Lemonade was good and a great alternative to soft drinks or tea on a warm day. Overall, I would say it was a slightly above average place to get a burger in a small town without a lot of choices. Would have been a higher rating if the fries would have been better. That is just ONE opinion of this place based on just one visit. read more
