Don't spend your hard earned money with this company they do not care!!!! They were hired to put transitions (kitchen, front door entrance and bathroom) in a couple of rooms in my house. All 3 area have 3 different color woods. The entrance has glue all over and now little pink stuff with glue all over the tiles, the corners of the transitions are not flush and sticking out just waiting for someone to cut themselves on the edge of the corner and is about 1-2 inches off of the ground, (all the transitions are about 1-2 inches off the ground?) they cut a nice chunk of tile out from the flooring. The kitchen has glue and pink stuff from the edges on both sides and reminder is a different color than the other 2 areas. It too has 1- 2 inch gap with all of the glue showing from the both sides. The bathroom is just hanging there, right now we had to put tape on it just to hold it down (so as of this post it is just there with tape the customer put down) where all of the glue is allover the ceramic tiles and the floor tiles on both sides and the entrance has the gunk of dried glue reminder a different color. There is really no star that should be checked for the service received from this company but in order to post this review i have to click 1 star with great regrets for this company even being used. READ REVIEWS AND BELIEVE THEM! Don't spend your hard earned money to pay to have services done to take care of your home. This company instead will just make it worse. read more

Shans Carpet and Flooring installed over 4,000 square feet within two days of demo of the existing flooring. The second generation owner Sam is an absolute pleasure to work with and I would now never consider going elsewhere. I've had one experience prior to this occasion with another local company and their installation of hard wood some 20 years ago. That was a pleasant experience until the crew boss stepped out for lunch and the installed hardwood planks were not randomized while he was out, that floor had to be redone. No issue with Sam's crew they were vigilant. I was looking for a specific product from Anderson Tuftex, their Grand Estate series, I contacted the company there appeared to be only two representatives in the south Houston area I contacted both. I spoke to Sam over the phone and clearly off the bat I felt some what comfortable with their offerings. I am a firm believer that on expenses of this magnitude the interactions can not be merely transactional, instead you have to build trust and confidence in their ability. You are letting people into your home whom you've never met and the "whatif" scenarios are sleep depriving and stressful. It's one thing talking to a person on the phone and another face to face. I googled reviews and found some tepid old reviews and excellent recent reviews which made me even more apprehensive. Politician and salesmen, you are already aware of their Laissez-faire approach to the truth. Sam is clearly the business owner, was not a matter of wanting a sale it was more of "let me show you how good a job we do, and you will be happy". There is no BS and he absolutely stands by his word. If there was any thing I can say he "lol" intentionally understates and over delivers. I must point out that Sam ordered two full boxes of the product for us to understand its variability even before full financial commitment - that's trust. I was introduced to the crew boss as the house was remeasured, again another person you felt confident with their experience (BTW it did help that the same crew worked on Sams own home). I had some tight deadlines for moving in and they met each one of them. After Harvey flooded my home, carpet was definitely one of the listed items on my replace list. Since the majority of my major traffic areas are ceramic tiled, I only needed to carpet my bedrooms. I'm really shocked at the low reviews. Adam, my salesperson, who has been with the business for years (maybe manager, co-owner, or something) was very helpful, knowledgeable, and worked with me to get the carpet at a price I desired. Their prices are competitive and I even referred family members to them who were also pleased with the service as well. It did take the installers a little longer than usual because my master bedroom is humongous, but everything else was a breeze. I decided to use Sam and his team to put new carpet in my upstairs after 10 months of post Harvey renovations and dust made our second floor carpet unlivable. The team showed up at 7:30am with 4 men and started. In the last 10 months of seeing all the contractors in our neighborhood restoring homes from the flood, I have not yet seen anyone work near as hard as they did. I am so glad we made the decision to use Shan's Carpets. Not to mention that I gave them the go ahead yesterday and they got started and completed the next day. bought flooring from them and they left the job 3/4 done because the crew did not have enough material. i had already paid for all of it and they miss ordered using my money. they have a real hard time ever returning calls. Had an appointment the following day to finish the job and nobody ever showed up. called and never got a call back. had to keep calling. finally they said it would have to be on monday wich is 2 days away. i had a birthday party on sunday with an unfinished floor. never got a call back from store or management. do yourself a favor and spend ur cash anywhere else. too much of a hastle to deal with these folks. read more

I've purchased carpet from Shans twice. The first time, I took a friend who dealt with him before. We already shopped several other stores including lowes and carpet one, so I had an idea of what I wanted and how much to pay. My friend negotiated a price and we bought. That was two years ago, and I'm convinced I got a decent deal for higher end carpet. Fast forward two yrs later. I return to get carpet for my daughters new tow home. I'm by myself this time, and Shan doesn't remember me. Ok, no big. I didn't want to spend the same money because it's my daughters money, but she wants a mid grade carpet with heavy pile. Short story, I'm sure we got the bait and switch. What we picked out and what was installed and delivered are totally opposite and obviously wrong. We took a scrap to Home Depot, and it compares to their cheapest carpet, what is rolled up on the shelf in diy section! We however paid 15x that price. While the installer was at my daughters home, I called Shan several times. He was open, but didn't answer. I went by and he threw me out! Too bad. Buyer beware! read more
