Stopped by to get my eyebrows threaded and tinted today after returning some items at Sephora. The young lady that did my eyebrows did a great job! She was also super courteous as well as quick. I appreciate that she told me how long she was going to leave the tint on instead of just leaving me there waiting and wondering. 10 minutes. I don't even think it actually took that long. My eyebrows looked perfect once she finished. Great shape, color and everything. Initially when I looked in the mirror I thought my brows weren't dark enough. I typically like to get them darker so they'll last longer BUT as I was at the register, I viewed their price list. They have unlimited threading and tinting packages! Woohoo! So perfect for me! I didn't buy one today but I definitely plan to do so. With an unlimited deal, I'll no longer have to stretch my tintings between visits. I can just return for re-dos. Also, the place is clean, calm, and quiet. Glad I stopped by today and I look forward to returning . Also, glad I didn't read the reviews before stopping in. Wow! They're all so horrible but they're also pretty old so I'm glad I'm able to leave this fresh new 5 star review for them. read more

The young lady that did my brows was having a phone conversation during my entire appointment. That's probably why she missed some pretty obvious areas and thinned one eyebrow more than the other. I said I like how they are but "clean them up". She talked the entire time using her earbuds so I'm sure she was distracted. I won't return. My fault for not checking reviews before going. If I could give this establishment zero stars I would. I usually always check yelp reviews before trying a new business however this time I didn't and regret it. The lady doing eyebrows at the Baybrook Mall location did a terrible job. She pulled a patch of hair out at the front of my eyebrow on the left side. On the right side she turned it into where it looks like two separate eyebrows.I tried to contact management and no one ever returned my call. Sent pictures to their customer service email to prove that they lady messed up my eyebrows they still have never responded. I will never go back to this establishment again..poor management and service! (FYI after the lady messed up my eyebrows asked if I was going to leave her a tip on my card!) read more

I honestly don't know why keep going back. They always cut me. This is recent i was there yesterday around 4:30pm and, the first time about 5 months ago when they cut me also. The lady refused it was her fault, but she was careless and was too busy having a conversation instead of focusing on my eyebrows. I spent months growing out my eyebrows, then the lady proceeds to do as she pleases and leave me with skinny UNEVEN brows, which I HATE. MY EYEBROWS WERE EXACTLY HOW I WANTED AND I JUST WANTED A CLEANUP. I asked her why she shaped my brows if I had asked her specifically not too. She says they are more even and that the other brows weren't suitable for my face. Like wtf?? By the H&M entrance of the mall, the place is very clean, bright, and modestly decorated. I came in on a Sunday afternoon with 3 staff members and 6 guests ahead of me, but my wait time was no more than 20 minutes. Unfortunately, since they were busy, there was no exchange of greetings or acknowledgement, which is a negative issue to me. The person who worked on me was nice and approachable, not intimidating as I feared. I told her it was my first time, so she went straight to cleaning up my brows-getting the stray hairs; nothing fancy-thin, high arches; looks natural. Finished in 5 minutes, looks good (in my opinion), $11 seems like a good price for me! read more

The first time they barely cleaned my eyebrows, the second time they made them uneven, the third time they made me bleed and now I have to cover up scabs with concealer. Yes, they are cheap. I got my eyebrows done here after a recommendation from a friend. Before coming to shapes I never let anyone touch my eyebrows fearing they would make them super thin. The girls at shapes do an amazing job! I've used almost all of the girls who work there for my brows and they do a really great job of evening everything out and making sure I look great. It's totally worth the $11 for them to do it instead of me messing them up! UPDATE: I took my husband here after a few weeks of convincing him and made the comment "no jersey shore brows" as he sat down in the chair to be threaded. All of the girls got a laugh out of it but all jokes aside they did an amazing job on his brows. He looks groomed but not over done like a girl. I've had my brows done at other places and they make them too thin (my brows are already kinda thin naturally) but not this place...somehow they manage to make them look thicker? This place used to have competent and talented ladies years ago. Now if you come in on a weekday they are literally just not there. No sign, no implications of being closed, just not at the booth. I waited 20 minutes for someone to show up and even asked their booth neighbors. The computer showed "Vimal Patel" as the person logged in, so I assume that is who is supposed to be here. I would write it off as having a bathroom emergency or something, but this is probably the 4th time this has happened to me. When I can get somebody to do my brows, they usually do them too thin and yet amazingly still manage to leave spots unthreaded. They're rude and uncommunicative. The company clearly has a high turnover rate with their employees and so the employees have no pride in their work anymore-so to make up for their loss of business they increased the prices of threading services from $10 to $13 in recent years. I've been giving them chance after chance the past 2 years or so because this place used to give me the best threading services around-but this is the last time I attempt to give them my money. read more

For those considering threading, it hurts less or equal to waxing and doesn't leave your brows super red. It was also much quicker than getting them waxed. read more

My teen daughter went here on her own bc I was working and she needed her brows done. My mom was with her and just watched off to the side. I had bought her a gift card for $60 that was near being done. I told her to let her know ahead of time that she has her gift card. My daughter stated that the "artist" continued asking her to reload the card throughout the session that normally takes 15 minutes. The artist was taking long and started loading her face with various makeups. She doesn't wear makeup at all. She told the lady I don't want makeup several times and the lady insisted. The artist was trying to sell her products non-stop. Then, when she was done, my daughters eyebrows were whacked off! Usually, her eyebrows are thick, but this lady removed them completely from the natural arch to the lateral aspect of her face. She tried filling them in with brown eyeshadow too and my daughter looked ridiculous. I'm super disappointed at how services were performed. I doubt we will ever go back there. read more

Do NOT waste your money here. I used to come here often when they opened the very first year but they have LONGG gone DOWN hill since then. I don't write reviews at all but I'm finding myself furious with their service that I'm writing TWO for them. Because of their previous good service I tried to give them multiple changes to make up for it (about 5!!) and each time I'm either left with messed up eyebrows and rude service or kinda okay I can fix eyebrows and rude service (always rude service). I truly don't know how this business still has customers because the workers create such a hostile environment by being snobby and stuck up. Very poor work, my wife got her eye brows and upper lip threading done and she has got lots of scratches around eyes and lips. They were not apologetic too. I visited shapes today to clean up my eyebrows. I specifically told the woman I wanted to keep my eyebrows as thick as possible, multiple times. She ended up not listening to me at all and now my eyebrows are extremely thin and thats not even the worst part! She took out a section of my eyebrow, she then went on to say she would fix it if I payed more money then insisted that I purchased a makeup eye brow kit. She never once said sorry and claimed that it's just how my eyebrows are. I've had my eyebrows plucked, waxed and threaded before and never had this problem. I'm so upset about this experience. I walked into the store at 5:45, 15 minutes before closing. An employee stopped me at the door and told me they would not take me because they were about to close. Even though they close at six, she said they did not want to take any other customers. She was extremely rude and condescending, and although I have had my eyebrows done at this location several times before, I will never get them done there again. read more

I leave feeling like a new woman every time! I have my friends hooked on her, some of which travel over an hour to get their eyebrows shaped by her. This review is for the kiosk across from express. So the lady doing my brows did a fine job. Midway some rude individual pops herself in the small area between the two chairs and bumps my foot, while my lady is doing my brows. First of all, you do not bump the eyebrow lady or the individual getting their brows done, because as you very well know with threading, one swipe and I'll be missing a bunch of brow. Girl apparently works there and was adjusting the chairs. She bumped twice and made the bitch what face when I questioned her. She's prob the only non desi person working there (or she forgot to brush off her baked caked face), has mad thick brows, courtesy of a heavy handed brow gel/pencil and dark hair that needs to be straightened less, and washed more. I went yesterday 2/14 and told the lady "just clean up". Keep my arch and no thinner. She keeps the arch but makes it significantly thinner. She said she understood me but obviously did not. This is the second time. I will not be going there anymore (been going for years). If a friend asks for recs I'll refer them to another place where at least they keep the brows a bit thicker. I have been going to this place for about 2 years and really like it. Not all of the ladies thread eyebrows the same way. Some of them take off too much and some others do it just right. I was able to find my favorite one (Sarita) who knows exactly how to style my eyebrows. From my experience they are all very nice and will recommend different products for hair growth. read more
