After making and arriving for my appt, a rude nail tech shoved the sample colors at me while I waited for them to finish other customers...15 mins and counting. When I asked where the chrome samples were, she gruffly told me that "powder can't be done with chrome." Mind you...I've been getting my powder dip nails done with chrome, hologram and all sorts of options for 8 YEARS! Considering her attitude - and the fact that they had no respect for my appt time - I walked out. I waited until my 3rd visit to give this review! I am new to town and had visited multiple shops already and none of them had impressed me until now. I get a regular pedi and shellac manicure always and never has my manicure been so detailed, lasted me three weeks or more and fairly priced. I love this place! My issue isn't so much with the service here as it is with the lack of quality. I've been here three times now, trying to give it every opportunity to earn my business, but my nails never really look clean when I walk out. For the price, I feel like the standard should be a lot higher. I just got a new set of acrylics today with shellac color and the outcome was just.. messy. See photo. It seemed like the service was stopped short too because once I pulled my hands out of the UV light she told me I was done. No final examination? No lotion? No final nail shaping? Service: Plenty of booths and pedicure stations with very sanitary autoclaved nail utensils for each customer. They offer full manicure and pedicure services , along with waxing which I haven't tried yet. Wait: Appointments are available but I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to be seen Atmosphere: Everyone is very welcoming and nice paired with a clean, open environment. Cost: for a Hot Stone Pedicure for Jordan and a Refill w/ color Full set for me costs around $51 So once again I'm a regular here and semi very picky and I've never had any issues. On the plus side it's a clean salon and they do line the foot bowl with plastic. The price for the basic mani pedi combo is $32 which is fair. Overall the service was fine. Poor customer service. If I could give no stars I would. I have gone here several times and in the last two visits experienced situations that would prevent me from ever returning. Which is a shame because I really enjoyed the service provided by An. The first incident I witnessed a young lady being turned away (she told the salon was closed) only to watch moments later two more patrons be accepted, neither had appointments (I asked the customers themselves). The young lady sat in her car, watched the door, and returned, demanding to be serviced. The manager lied to the young lady as to why he couldn't service her. This whole scene left me with a bad feeling. This on top of fluctuating service cost, certain customers being asked to wait when techs are obviously available, and other issues is why I will never spend a dime here again. read more

Gosh, Just had my nails done, and one girl messed up my right big toe, so I need her to fix. Another girl who did my french nails, she just followed me everywhere and kept asking me pay $62 first, pay first. I got very annoyed by her, she actually is a very nice good looking lady, and she did pretty good job on my nail, but she made me feel that I would run away without paying them $62!!!!. I told her you need make me happy first, fix my toe nail and you will get whatever I owe you! I came here because I was given a gift certificate. POSITIVE:The place is very clean&well kept, well lit, nice atmosphere. The pedicurist was friendly and attentive, though hard for me to communicate with, but she tried. NEGATIVE: I noticed when I got home that my toenails had been cut at an angle, however, and still a bit long. Also the polish was smudged and it chipped within a day. Usually a pedicure will last me about a month. The manicure was not even worth the few minutes she spent. I tried several times to ask her NOT to pull on the cuticles while trimming them, but I guess habits are hard to break because she continued to do so. So, my cuticles became sore, jagged and swollen. I asked for clear polish because a regular manicure will not last much more than a day. Even I was surprised when it started peeling off that evening - on its own. Not going back. read more

9/11/2014 I will never, never, ever go to this nail place again. I have been there several times before. I was going to another lady first. She did ok for a while but then she began to rush and her work didn't last as long as it use to. So I started tipping her less. They treat you differently when you don't tip. No one has to tip for a service that is not being done well. I started going to Helen, she works in the nail salon as well. She seems to be the only one that really does a good job. Her work was consistant. They said she would be out for 2 weeks and I really needed to get my nails done. I made an appointment with Anna the one I was going to before. I figured just one time until Helen gets back. I made an appointment for 1 pm but was running late. I called and told them so. I was on my way. I drove from Houston to Pearland only to have the manager tell me they wouldnt see me. I was only 30 minutes late, they only had about 3 clients in the whole nail shop and I called. If they would not have seen me, they should have said so when I called. He said Anna had another appointment at 2 pm. It was only 1:30 pm. I dont understand how someone opens a business for profit but would so easily disrespect their paying customers. And their prices were very high for average work. Most of the salon operators just sit abound doing nothing. read more

Love this place been a client for over a year now. Service is quick but quality, which i appreciate. Never really wait longer then 5 minutes since I make my appointment ahead of time. I originally started just walking in and never waited long either. My nail fills last a long time and so do my pedicure's. All the staff is very nice. I have been here 1 other time before with my sister to get my nails done and it went pretty well, but this time it did not, and I'm very very disappointed. So I went this past weekend to get a pedi for my mom and to get my nails done, as soon as I arrived they were rushing me to pick out my nail color, I was asking for light pink and the lady said they didn't carry it, I was shocked because last time i saw it, anywho, I picked a color quickly and it was followed by nothing but bad customer service. The lady was really rough on my nails (they hurt for a whole 2 days), the lady doing my mom's pedicure kept getting phone calls AND she was answering them, she did this quite a few times, and then when i asked her how long i should get my nails the lady told me "i don't know, i'm not the one wearing them", SERIOUSLY?? And to end the day they asked us to PAY BEFORE they even finished our services. My nails did look good but it was not enough to repair the damage the customer service did, i will not be coming back to this nail salon EVER again. read more

I have been going here for about 2 years now and I love them. I have been to several nail salons in the city of Houston and a few in pearland and they are my favorite. The manager Jimmy is great at taking care of you and they always have the latest polish collections from OPI,CND, China Glaze, and so on. I have a nail blog where I feature most of their work and get tons of compliments. I went today and it was HORRIBLE!!! My feet look exactly like they did when I first walked in. My toe nails look ok, but I paid for a pedi (really expensive one too) so I expected for my dead skin not to be their anymore. I wanted my nails to be a medium length and when I asked for that the lady said that it would be an extra 5 dollars to the 35 they charged in the first place! I was blown away by this!! But that's not all, to make my nails 'shiny' it was ALSO an extra 5 dollars! Something simple that every other nail place does with out charging extra. But wait! Their's more! I kept telling the lady to square my nails, and how do I walk out of there? With circled nails. The lady also was way too rough on my nails. I have been coming to Number 1 Nails for at least 5 years and am always pleased. Services used regularly are mani-pedi and face wax. I usually have Mary and Annie but also Caroline and several other of the ladies over the years. They are pleasant, friendly, always accommodating and the place is clean. Jimmy keeps everything moving smoothly. They ask you to pay before finishing so you won't have your wet nails in your purse - makes perfect sense to me. The only unpleasantness experienced here is with other patrons that spend the time talking LOUDLY on their cell phones as if the rest of the world wants to hear their business. I went in excited to get a mani/pedi yesterday. Trying to get ready for my vacation. I was very disappointed with the customer service in this place. The lady who was doing my pedicure did a good job, BUT the one who was doing my manicure was horrible!!! She was so engulfed in her conversation with the other lady that she wasn't even paying attention to what she was doing! (Pausing several times to continue her gossiping.) This was so annoying! She did a poor job at filing my nails. I don't think she even filed all of my nails! I asked for clear polish, so when she put it on, she only covered part of the nail. The sides had no polish! I had to ask for a second coat! Her massage of my hands included her snapping and pulling at my fingers! It was very painful! Then she has the nerve to ask me if "you ok?".
