I've gone to multiple European Wax Center locations and had two or so great waxers that would eventually leave and I'd have to find someone new. In my search of finding someone I came across Ally at EWC Bay Area and she is the best I've ever had. I just wanted to make sure I shouted her out on here. She truly makes your wax painless, even if you went a whole quarantine and some months without an appointment. I figure I'd be softly cursing after every pull, instead we were chatting it up about traveling and different adventures we've had. I don't know how she does it lol. Something like magic! I have had very good experiences with this place. The biggest plus for me is the convenience. The wax tech I had before had limited availability. The hours here are of a wide enough range where I can go see them at my convenience. And the wax they use is soft yet still gets the job done. This was my first time going to European Wax and I was so excited! I knew my eyebrows were going to look flawless. EW asked me if I had sensitive skin before hand and I told them yes I do. The wax specialist "Bianca" was really nice but she didn't ask about my skins sensitivity which was alarming. She asked me how I wanted my brows styled and I asked for THICK eyebrows and a arch if she could (it's been done before by numerous estheticians) and what I turned up with was NO ARCH and basically NO EYEBROWS! I had an appointment for 5 services at 12:15 but I went at 11:40 to see if I could get in early. They said no..ok no problem I understand. I came back at my appointment time and the front told me "oh no one called you? You waxer isn't in today. Can we reschedule?" I received no call. This was very unprofessional and inconvenient for me. I have been very skeptical of trying to wax for awhile. I randomly looked up at their website and they offered a "free wax" for first time customers. After deciding that I wanted to try it, I made an appointment online. It was very simple, quick and easy. On the website you can choose who you'd like to see, but it being my first time I was not sure. When I got there the environment was quiet, clean and relaxing. The front staff was very kind and quick to attend me. I was a bit nervous and they made me feel welcomed. It was a very nice feeling before going back there. Bianca was very nice and did an excellent job. She talked to me through the process, and even though I was embarrassed she didn't make me feel bad. She did an amazing job. I would recommend her if it's your first time. She talked about the products that would be best for my skin. She is very caring and is wanting the customer to have a good experience. Honestly the waxing procedure itself was more painful than soft wax or sugaring. I checked her work but forgot to check the inside of the labia. Yup she left hair there. Not cool. It was all supposed to be gone. My wax was half price so I guess I got about a half wax.; even though it was my first visit so beware if website says your first wax is free! Omg so I have been to four locations over time and this has to be the worst. I just had it waxed at 6 and my kooder is in so much pain 2 hours later!!! I have gotten Brazilians before and never had it been that painful!! Also there is SO much hair left! She had placed wax inside the lip and just let go before it was dry so it was sticking to my clit. Then after it wasn't all coming off so I felt her trying to grab it but kept pinching me right about it!! And to top it off there was so much wax residue left all over!! To pay that much and have to come home to pluck so much off is ridiculous! The picture is literally what I could tolerate to pluck out above the lips! and I can only imagine how much was left in the back!!!! I was seen by Adrianna. I had tried to make conversation because hey I am spread eagle on the table and it helps put people at ease! But nope. Got the quickest response and nothing to follow. I would not recommend this location AT ALL. if you can go to another location I would. the women who work here are extremely rude and unprofessional. the waxers are great, but the women who work the front, including the manager, awful. awful. awful. My overall experience was pretty good. I made a reservation the night before and went in early to have my eyebrows waxed. It was my first time going so it was complimentary, which was nice that I could see if I liked it before scheduling another appointment in the future. The waiting/lobby area was very nice and clean, very professional. My waxer was Esmeralda, she was very educational and nice. I just wish they wouldn't try so hard to push their products on you, made me a little uncomfortable. I don't know much about how to do my brows with styling/grooming etc. as I've never professionally had my eyebrows done. She showed me the various parts of where your brow is supposed to start, where your arch is, and the "tail", but after leaving I noticed that my brows were of significantly different lengths. Maybe she didn't know where one was supposed to end? Or match? I dont know... I was really disappointed, and now self-conscious about it as I don't know how to "fill in" my eyebrows so they match. It's embarrassing... maybe for other waxing services it's much better but I'm nervous about my next appointment. I love coming to this place to get my eyebrows done but today was not a good eyebrow waxing day. My eyebrows look way too thin and curvy, like I'm in a permanent look of shock. I think my eyebrow stylist knew she'd taken off too much because she started offering me products to fill them in and this gloss to make my eyebrow hairs stay in a line. However, now that I'm home and facing a better mirror with lighting, I can see that I could have saved myself the trouble and just done them at home. This was by far one of the worst wax experiences I've ever had. I'm left with uneven brows that don't look much better then they did when I walked in. I felt like if I let them continue to tweeze and trim them I would have nothing left. I've been using European Wax Center for a little over 6 years and have never had this bad of an experience. UPDATE: Let me start by saying I was a customer for approximately one year. My waxing therapist was great, but it's a shame she works for a terrible business. My initial review was solely for my wax therapist. Who honestly was wonderful. This location has incredibly unprofessional management (manager and owner), poor knowledge of services, and terrible customer service. I signed up for a wax pass in May. During my initial setup, front desk communicated I could pay 3 installments of $81 each month. Following my third payment, I confirmed with front desk that was my last payment required. A month later-my card was charged again for the fourth time. I contacted the location and was informed that in my account, in fact, exactly what I stated was documented. When I spoke with management about it, they did everything BUT take accountability. Told me multiple times I misunderstood the individual and they were positive the front desk showed me the sign. Although my claim was supported, they would not honor the misinformation communicated by their staff. Also stated if I contacted corporate, it wouldn't matter. Here is the kicker-the owner was just as bad. They initially gave me the option to cancel the pass and receive STORE CREDIT for what I had not already used (why would I give an extra penny to them at this point?). The owner not once apologized for her company's mistake. She was rude and threatened to hang up the phone while talking. Then stated she is "allowing me" to have MY money back and that good customer service is giving me my money without charging me a cancellation fee or forcing me to use store credit. Refused to go over the numbers with me then and stated "she didn't have my chart pulled up" even though she called my number to contact me? Next day the owner has her manager call back to obtain my information for refund. CANCELLATION FEE INCLUDED. I'm big on businesses doing right by customers and valuing customer service. This experience was horrific and I would stay away from this location if at all possible. read more

I am so disappointed in their customer service. I paid over $500 for a wax pass and was told at my last booking that it would expire in march. I just had a wax and was charged because it was already expired. Yesterday had an appointment for wax. The staff was friendly and professional. However, unfortunately, last night I had use a razor on a few missed spots (obvious). Not really sure how this was missed. Then this morning I noticed in the waxed area there is already slight stubble that you can feel. The hair was not pulled by the root! Don't bother showing up before your appointment at this location. Twice I've come 5-10 minutes prior to check in and use the ladies room to freshen up right before my wax, and been told to wait in my car while they have a 'team meeting' in the middle of the day on Thursdays. *Note to business- do not schedule appointments adjacent to meetings if you cannot wrap them up 5-10 minutes prior to the client's time. We are suppose to show up for our appointments BEFORE the appointment time to be courteous to the staff to stay on schedule- so be courteous of our time too. --Rude. The 'manager' was at the location while I was there and did nothing to make the situation any better when I expressed my dislike of being told to wait outside- in fact she did not even acknowledge me other than telling me to wait. Bad business practices all around. I will not be renewing any of my passes, nor recommending to friends/family anymore. I have already had two of my friends cancel or leave as well due to similar lack of customer service. The staff are not friendly at this locations-especially the front girls. The wax techs are usually nice. However there are several that are not as efficient at getting all the hair in the locations paid for. I have had to do my own touch ups. Needless to say it makes me pretty upset that I get home and have patches missed and my husband points them out. I feel bad for the few girls that work here that are great at what they do. I have been coming to EWC for 7 years now (I get the yearly membership for the Brazilian wax pass). I have been to several locations (Pearland, Pasadena, Houston) but the Bay Area location is my absolute favorite! Went for my first Brazilian wax with Nadia today. She was AMAZING. I was so scared and dreading this appt for the past week and to be honest, I was surprised that it was over when she said we were done. She made me feel very comfortable and talked throughout and distracted me from what little pain there was. Of course it's painful - they're ripping hair out - but as far as waxes go, this was definitely above my expectations. Try her out! You won't regret it. I've gotten Brazilian wax for 6 months now and 4 of those months have being going to European wax center, this last time was awful, I made an appointment, walk in 5min before, they took me in.. my wax specialist was very nice and polite, but she did an horrible job with my Brazilian, it was too painful, I'm not a professional but in my experience she wasn't one either. I walk out in pain, with $54 less on my bank account, there were hairs and wax in my bikini area (I guess because she didn't wait for the wax to get hard enough to pull it of), so I was left with a ball of hard wax stick into my bikini area that later on I had to shave (because it was to painful for me to even try to take it out because she didn't pull the wax strip correctly and she also keep trying to pull it out multiple times causing me more pain). I'm not coming back ever again and neither recommending to anyone read more
