He suggested a matcha drink or something made with Red Bull, and I don't think we were quite on the same wavelength. Personally, if I'm going to a coffeehouse, I'm there for coffee--not a Red Bull drink--so those recommendations didn't really fit what I was looking for. I ended up ordering a 16-ounce Shibam iced latte with almond milk and half the normal amount of sugar, and there's no denying it--it was excellent. The balance of flavors was spot on, and I wouldn't change a thing. Because it was later in the evening, I didn't try any pastries or desserts. The display case was pretty picked over by that point, which is understandable. Now let's talk about the price because that's what everyone in the Lexington Foodies group seems to be discussing. I get it. It is expensive. My 16-ounce latte was just under $10, and if I had added one of the pastries, I would have been looking at around a $25 coffee break. That's a tough price point to justify on a regular basis. For me, this isn't going to become part of my everyday routine, no matter how much I enjoyed the coffee.
