Purchased LVP and Carpeting. The product arrived quickly, within 2 weeks. Given current supply issues I had been concerned, but it was not a problem. Phillip reached out to schedule installation, staying in contact prior to the teams arrival. Also, appreciated that both the designer who helped me with the product decisions and Phillip were responsive to me, always returning my calls quickly if they weren't available when I called. I replaced the current engineered wood floors for LVP, and update carpeting on the stairs of my split entry home. I did all the due diligence from price comparison and shopping the big box stores, requesting samples etc. When I just couldn't get excited about anything out there, I visited Alpha Rug. They are a local business, which I like a lot. I was not pressured to buy, they directed me to the areas which displayed SO MANY large format samples. With the help of Lauren, I narrowed down my options, took home the samples to see them in my home and lighting. She scheduled Gary to come measure the following week. Can't say enough about the quality of the installation. The teams were so respectful of my home, courteous and most important---professional. The work was perfect. Alph Rugs installed SEM manufactured hardwood floors throughout our house (entire 1st floor, Master, hall and Study up) 3 years ago. Within the first 6 months we notice peeling and chipping along the edges of various boards all through the house. Over the next year, they got worse and more prevalent. We finally tried to contact Daniel at Alpha rugs about the problem. It took quite a long time, a lot of emails and text messages to get them to finally come out to look at the floors. When Daniel finally came to inspect the floors, he obviously thought it could be/was a manufacturing issue. Especially since the damage wasn't isolated to one area. He did mention that this manufacturer (SEM) has in the past blamed the home owner for using steam mops or the wrong cleaning methods. This kind of set us up for what to expect. After several more months, SEM finally sent an "independent flooring inspector" to come look at the floors. He seemed to be quite thorough. Needless to say, his report came back in favor of SEM, claiming it was a maintenance created problem. This is even considering several areas that have been under area rugs since day one. We have reached out several times to Alpha Rugs and SEM to contest this conclusion with absolutely NO response. Out take on this is that SEM flooring and Alpha Rugs are trying blame us for the poor quality of this flooring. Alpha Rugs recommended, and installed, these SEM manufactured plank floors knowing that we lived in our house and had dogs. Their conclusion seemed to be that we walk on our floors too much, we have dogs who walk on the floors (which they knew bc they recommended the flooring we chose bc of the dogs), we clean the floors wrong, we don't clean them often enough, we clean them too often. According to SEM, our floors would be perfect if only we never walked on them or stay off the floor completely. After reading the contract we notice there was ZERO warranty with Alpha Rugs. They told us the floors would last as long as our previous hardwood floor (25 years) and these floors did not last 6 months. We have tried and tried to resolve this issue in an amicable, mutually satisfactory way, but they refuse. I would not recommend or use Alpha Rugs every again and please find a different manufacturer for the flooring, as neither have any sort of warranty. read more

My realtor recommended I head to Alpha Rug Expo and I'm so glad she did. I went in looking for carpet, but ended up purchasing carpet and a handwoven wool rug. It's been about a month and I am very happy with my purchases. I worked with both Dan and Sable during the sales process. As a first-time carpet buyer, I liked their thorough explanations. They gave me several options in the color I wanted at various price points. In the end, they helped me make a quality selection that fit my budget, which I appreciated. Their installation team was great, too. I've heard horror stories about how reckless installers can be and I was nervous because my walls and baseboards had recently been painted. Sable reassured me their crew would be careful and courteous. To my relief, she was totally right. There were no scuff marks or gouges left behind...only great-looking carpet. The installation for three rooms and a hallway (about 800 sq ft) took about five hours. If you're in the market for carpet or rugs, I recommend you visit Alpha Rug Expo! IN TRANSITION, BUT THERE IS NO EXCUSE... There is never, ever an excuse for having a filthy bathroom that is designated for your customers. Here's the thing, If you want to have a filthy restroom that poorly represents you and your business, save it for the employees. I am sure that I speak for every potential customer out there when I say, we want the clean restroom that also has soap available. Ladies, this is why you should never leave home without your hand sanitizer. If I am the business owner and I walk in and see that bathroom and you are playing on your phone like you have nothing to do, I am LIVID and you are absolutely done for the day. The problem with the filthy bathroom is that it hijacked my brain and compromised my ability to really focus on the store and its contents. Also, it is important to know that you could actually spend up to two hours in a flooring store and you want to know that if you have to use the restroom, it is going to be clean, appropriately stocked and worthy of your bum! Also, you will never convince me that you can actually execute a full "turn key" service when your bathroom is that offensive. Since my reason for Yelping is to inform, I am going to go where my brain leads me and not ignore the pink elephant. So, I hope the business owner will see this review and get to work on that bathroom. For now, we can move on to other things! This store is currently in transition because they are preparing to move "across the street". I don't know what that means exactly because I use that term very loosely to mean the next town, down the street or literally across the street. Anyway, this is good news because the current location is tight and consists of a series of rooms instead of wide open spaces. It also has poor lighting which is a problem when you are trying to determine color and texture. So, I do hope that the new store is going to give customers a much better shopping experience. I visited on a Saturday morning and there was just a little too much activity for me and I found myself just cutting my visit short. Now, I haven't totally written them off because some of the things that bothered me might cease to be an issue once they are in a larger space. I was able to "check out" a flooring sample to take home and compare to my wall tiles and that I appreciated. Also, as we walked through the store, we found that people were genuinely nice and helpful. You will notice some negative reviews for this business but know that they are dated and came as a result of the previous owners. Now that there are new owners, business seems to be a lot better and customers appear to be pleased with the business. So, if I decide to return and do business with this company once they are in their new space and after they have addressed the bathroom issue, I will update my review. I really want to give them a chance because I can really appreciate an owner who takes a marginal business and turns it into a business that is really customer driven. So, we'll see what happens after the move. ***Don't forget, they are in the process of moving to a new location so make sure that you call before visiting. read more

Just had Alpha Rug Expo Install LVT flooring in our recently finished basement(1,400 sqft), plus install of the carpet on the stairs and additional install of carpet in our Bedroom closet. Sable and Daniel were fantastic to deal with from beginning to end. The installers that handled our new carpet and pad install treated our house and us with great respect. We received three quotes for this project, they were right in the middle of the pricing. We decided to go with them after talking to Daniel in detail about the carpet seam layout. So glad we used them, a great experience beginning to end. Sable was a tremendous help choosing the carpet type and not trying to upsell us on a pad we did not need. Other companies quotes were trying to upsell the carpet pad, almost felt they were using this item as a profit margin, not the case with AlphaRug. They stand behind their work! We used Alpha Rug to install new hardwood in two rooms, refinish existing hardwood and all new carpet. It was a large project that involved moving all of our homes contents and put back. Sable and Dan have been great. It took them 6 days to complete the work. At the end of day 5 they came to inspect the work and I was not expecting candid criticism of the work. Sable did the initial inspection and pointed out some things I did not see. She is the expert and I was happy to hear her comments and what they would do to fix the small issues. After the furniture was moved back Dan came by to inspect and I was not happy with the durability of the hardwoods. He admitted that it was not the level he likes to see and offered to do it again. I was not happy that we had to move all of our furniture out to get the finish we were looking for but I agreed and A.R.E. went to work. I was floored (no pun intended) that a small business would stand behind their work like this! I couldn't be happier with the flooring and looking forward to many years of durability. A few tips for you and what to expect. These types of projects are extremely invasive so don't try and live there while they are doing the work. Set your expectations up front on furniture moves, duration of the work, and the quality you are looking for. If you are refinishing hardwoods cover your wall mounted TV's with plastic yourself. Turn off your AC during the sanding process. Hope that helps. Once upon a time 6 years ago, Ann and I had heart pine plank flooring installed by Alpha Rug in our kitchen, dining room, entry, and main hall. The results were so delightful that, when we decided to replace the carpet in our master bedroom, sunroom, basement stairs, and great room, we called them two Fridays ago. They came out next Tuesday, moved our furniture, and did a great professional job. The price was reasonable, especially since we had upgraded the carpet and pad by several levels. We just had most of the floors in our house replaced with Alpha and we could not be happier. Sable had great suggestions for solving a few style issues that I had, and they worked out beautifully. We did all wood on our lower level and some wood and carpeting upstairs. The wood is simply gorgeous and the upstairs Dream Weaver carpet was over 30% less expensive than "50 Floor " for the exact same thing, including the pad. The wood installers were very professional, and without complaint replaced several wood planks that I did not like. Carpet installers were also friendly, neat and professional. Overall great experience. They have allowed me to take runners home for larger size rugs that I may want. Or they will allow you to return in the large in-stock rugs if you choose to take the full size home to try it. Who could ask for a better policy? Honest and helpful all the way! read more

Owning a small business myself, i always try to support local business. Just moving to Georgia, and needing some carpet for my new home, I also wanted the personal service of a small business and stayed away from the Big Box Stores. The out come of the job was good, but getting there I was met with failed delivery dates, non returned phone calls an an attitude: that "I have to understand how busy they are." The remnant after the install was to be brought back to the shop for bordering, and delivered to me upon my return from vacation. "But can you please pay us in full" before you leave. I had no problem with that. When returned from vacation I realized a span of interactions that included " we don't usually deliver" "did we promise you we would" "Okay Friday" no one shows, "he will call you when he finishes with customer" no phone call. Called back, "he doesn't work today..." so all in all the outcome was fine, but getting there was not fun. I won't be back soon. I bought a new central AC from the Big Box Store a few months ago, a seamless transaction, feeling like I was the only customer they had. Thats what my business did. 25 years in a business that required sale and installation, not one phone call from a customer asking why we didn't show up. Lesson to business owners, don't let your problems become your customers problem. Your customer has no interest only empathy that you are failing. read more

I have used this business several times on recommendation of a favorite builder I have. I really like their selection. However, they are apparently transitioning from the original owner to a new young man and his wife. Sadly to borrow from the previous comment. "Don't let your problems become your customers problems" I purchased an 8 x 10 area rug which did not work out. When I ordered it they knew I had wanted a larger rug but the manufacturer had stopped making them. Not once did they mention this was not returnable or refundable nor was there any mention of a time limit for a return. After the dust settled from Thanksgiving with other family crisis to deal with I called about returning it. "Oh, we special ordered that for you!" They had previously told me they were in stock and it would come quickly. Which it did. I received a very rude " you don't understand" we can't hang that rug. What? I received it rolled up! He went from I can give you store credit, I said ok, and then quickly changed to I won't take it back. What ever happened to customer service? Or even basic manners and politeness. I could not believe the ATTITUDE I told him I would not be back and I would be calling my builder friend. I recommend staying away from this crew until they figure out their customer service policy. Ugh. There are many many other places locally who will gladly take your business. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! We used Alpha Rug in an effort to support a local business. They rolled $3,000 worth of carpet on a muddy construction road to cut it, and then proceeded to walk all over it with muddy shoes. I called the owner who is extremely rude by the way, and told her what was happening. She told me that is standard, although she said they should have put down plastic or some protective layer. Then retracted the statement later and said that they didn't have to. As an Interior Designer for 20+ years I have NEVER seen an expensive rug or any rug treated in this manner (i.e. rolling it out on a muddy road to cut it, and then walking all over it with muddy shoes). The owner wouldn't do anything about it. I even sent her pictures that day showing what was happening instead she was argumentative and totally disrespectful. We have clean driveway in the back, they refused to cut the rug there. The workers told me that they walk on new carpet with muddy shoes "all the time." The owner didn't even come out to see what was happening (we live maybe 5 minutes away), she just kept telling me that they have never had complaints in 17 years, well obviously after looking on the internet that is far from the truth. I would strongly urge anyone thinking about using Alpha Rug to check out other reviewers online. The "new" carpet in our house was laid in the middle of a muddy road driven on by my neighbors, walked on with muddy feet and then installed in our home. The owner is rude, makes misleading statements and shows absolutely no standard of care what so ever, AND did nothing to make it right. In other words you will get sub par service at best.
