Alph Rugs installed SEM manufactured hardwood floors throughout our house (entire 1st floor, Master, hall and Study up) 3 years ago. Within the first 6 months we notice peeling and chipping along the edges of various boards all through the house. Over the next year, they got worse and more prevalent. We finally tried to contact Daniel at Alpha rugs about the problem. It took quite a long time, a lot of emails and text messages to get them to finally come out to look at the floors. When Daniel finally came to inspect the floors, he obviously thought it could be/was a manufacturing issue. Especially since the damage wasn't isolated to one area. He did mention that this manufacturer (SEM) has in the past blamed the home owner for using steam mops or the wrong cleaning methods. This kind of set us up for what to expect. After several more months, SEM finally sent an "independent flooring inspector" to come look at the floors. He seemed to be quite thorough. Needless to say, his report came back in favor of SEM, claiming it was a maintenance created problem. This is even considering several areas that have been under area rugs since day one. We have reached out several times to Alpha Rugs and SEM to contest this conclusion with absolutely NO response. Out take on this is that SEM flooring and Alpha Rugs are trying blame us for the poor quality of this flooring. Alpha Rugs recommended, and installed, these SEM manufactured plank floors knowing that we lived in our house and had dogs. Their conclusion seemed to be that we walk on our floors too much, we have dogs who walk on the floors (which they knew bc they recommended the flooring we chose bc of the dogs), we clean the floors wrong, we don't clean them often enough, we clean them too often. According to SEM, our floors would be perfect if only we never walked on them or stay off the floor completely. After reading the contract we notice there was ZERO warranty with Alpha Rugs. They told us the floors would last as long as our previous hardwood floor (25 years) and these floors did not last 6 months. We have tried and tried to resolve this issue in an amicable, mutually satisfactory way, but they refuse. I would not recommend or use Alpha Rugs every again and please find a different manufacturer for the flooring, as neither have any sort of warranty.

IN TRANSITION, BUT THERE IS NO EXCUSE... There is never, ever an excuse for having a filthy bathroom that is designated for your customers. Here's the thing, If you want to have a filthy restroom that poorly represents you and your business, save it for the employees. I am sure that I speak for every potential customer out there when I say, we want the clean restroom that also has soap available. Ladies, this is why you should never leave home without your hand sanitizer. If I am the business owner and I walk in and see that bathroom and you are playing on your phone like you have nothing to do, I am LIVID and you are absolutely done for the day. The problem with the filthy bathroom is that it hijacked my brain and compromised my ability to really focus on the store and its contents. Also, it is important to know that you could actually spend up to two hours in a flooring store and you want to know that if you have to use the restroom, it is going to be clean, appropriately stocked and worthy of your bum! Also, you will never convince me that you can actually execute a full "turn key" service when your bathroom is that offensive. Since my reason for Yelping is to inform, I am going to go where my brain leads me and not ignore the pink elephant. So, I hope the business owner will see this review and get to work on that bathroom. For now, we can move on to other things! This store is currently in transition because they are preparing to move "across the street". I don't know what that means exactly because I use that term very loosely to mean the next town, down the street or literally across the street. Anyway, this is good news because the current location is tight and consists of a series of rooms instead of wide open spaces. It also has poor lighting which is a problem when you are trying to determine color and texture. So, I do hope that the new store is going to give customers a much better shopping experience. I visited on a Saturday morning and there was just a little too much activity for me and I found myself just cutting my visit short. Now, I haven't totally written them off because some of the things that bothered me might cease to be an issue once they are in a larger space. I was able to "check out" a flooring sample to take home and compare to my wall tiles and that I appreciated. Also, as we walked through the store, we found that people were genuinely nice and helpful. You will notice some negative reviews for this business but know that they are dated and came as a result of the previous owners. Now that there are new owners, business seems to be a lot better and customers appear to be pleased with the business. So, if I decide to return and do business with this company once they are in their new space and after they have addressed the bathroom issue, I will update my review. I really want to give them a chance because I can really appreciate an owner who takes a marginal business and turns it into a business that is really customer driven. So, we'll see what happens after the move. ***Don't forget, they are in the process of moving to a new location so make sure that you call before visiting.

We've used ARE now twice and they were easy to work with and took great care for the installation. I'd go back again.

Candi and Shamus have consistently jumped through hoops for me to provide great product at pricing I could fit into my budget- or my client's budgets. Their installers are educated and follow the manufacturer guidelines for install - which is hugely important as to not void any warranty. This last project they helped me with required same day delivery and unload. 2 of their managers took the time to follow the delivery truck and unload my flooring! If you're looking for great products and service, I recommend Into The Woods. Shamus is also a GA Licensed Contractor so he is a wealth of information. I highly recommend and am grateful for their support.

Poor workmanship. Poor communication. A frustrating and, at times, genuinely unsafe experience…read more What initially felt like a company we could trust turned into a project we wish we had never hired them for. If you value your time, money, home, and peace of mind, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The work on our floors and dry wall required multiple return visits. After the second flooring visit, we told them the floor was still uneven and that the vinyl continued to pop up. On the third visit, a team member stepped on the area that was popping up and said, "There's nothing wrong!" After we insisted they open the floor, we discovered that cardboard packaging from the vinyl floor boards had been used underneath the floor to address the leveling issue... When we finally thought the flooring was finished, another problem surfaced. The trim at the top of our staircase that had been installed only about two weeks earlier came loose, and I fell down the stairs as a result. We then discovered that our replacement dry wall was visibly uneven and not flush with the existing wall. Even after their team came back to work on it, the transition was still not flush, if not worse! Regardless of whether subcontractors were involved, we hired Into The Woods to ensure the work was completed properly and ultimately hold them responsible. On top of having to repeatedly identify problems that should have been caught through proper supervision and quality control, the most frustrating part has been communicating with Into the Woods direct team members, especially their owner, Shamus. We constantly felt like our concerns were minimized and dismissed. Even if the work had been perfect, the interactions with the company throughout this entire process made us wish we never signed anything with them. *Additional Review After Owner's Response* Unfortunately, Shamus' response to my review is itself a reflection of our experience with Into The Woods. Throughout the project, our concerns were repeatedly reframed rather than addressed. We were reassured that issues would be taken care of, only to find them unresolved on subsequent visits. When we continued to speak up, we often felt our words were misconstrued, our concerns minimized, and the burden shifted back onto us. The response emphasizes that the company made 7-8 return visits. But the number of visits does not mean the work was properly completed. In fact, having to repeatedly request corrections is exactly what made this experience so frustrating. Many of those visits were to address warranty or punch-list issues that should have been resolved as part of completing the original work. I also want to correct the characterization of the financial accommodations. The nearly $10,000 shortfall was not covered by Into The Woods as a "good-faith discount." The remediation company that referred us to Into The Woods chose to cover the additional costs after we shared our negative experience with Into the Woods. They asked Into The Woods to go above and beyond to restore our home, and we are genuinely grateful to the remediation company for stepping in to help make things right. Separately, Shamus offered us a $1,000 "gesture of goodwill," which we declined. This offer came after we discovered cardboard packaging from the flooring underneath our floor. The stair-nose explanation in the response is particularly frustrating. The response leaves out the fact that approximately two weeks had passed since its installation. When the stair nose came loose, we photographed the underside and found a substantial amount of adhesive that appeared not to have properly bonded. The company subsequently returned to repair it. We don't expect construction to be completely free of problems. We do expect a contractor to listen to concerns, supervise the work, communicate accurately, and make sure problems are actually resolved. This experience cost us an enormous amount of time, frustration, and peace of mind. After everything we've experienced, we would not hire Into The Woods again, and we hope prospective customers consider our experience before making their decision.

We wanted to share our experience with them as they exceeded our expectations. What stood out most to us was their exceptional customer service from beginning to end. Communication was effortless throughout the entire process. And unlike a few other places that had high-pressure sales tactics, Granite Garage Floors put us at ease. They scheduled an in-home consultation where they thoroughly toured our garage, patiently explained various style options, and gave us time to make our own decisions. Their website was also helpful as it had several examples of different styles which helped us better visualize some of the choices we were debating. But as we discussed our preferences with the team, we were able to create a semi-custom style (a new decorative flake option) which we really appreciated. The team was also very transparent and we got clear communication from how to prep beforehand to how to maintain the floor afterwards. It was a two-day process with a highly professional team. They smoothed our entire garage floor first. Then they mixed all products on-site and applied the coating with great attention to detail. We were so excited to see how our garage was completely transformed. Perhaps the best testament to the quality is that our children now regularly ask us to park our cars outside so they can use the garage as their play area! We also wanted to mention that their pricing is competitive and they stand by their product with a lifetime warranty. For anyone considering an epoxy garage floor installation, we cannot recommend Granite Garage Floors highly enough.
