First and last time here. Came for a polish change. The prices aren't displayed of course so I asked for the polish gel price, and young girl said $25. Once the guy finished my toes and I went to pay the older lady said $27 because you paying with a card. I said, wait the girl didn't mention that, she only said $25. I've gone to almost all salons off and near panola road and I can generally say, GA Girl Nails is the only place you should spend your money. The people at shark are clearly charging you excessively to keep the rent paid but the work is not worth it. Do not come here or spend your money. This is a clear form of gentrification. I won't even show the toes because I usually think I have really nice feet for a man but now my hands and feet look like I chewed all my nails off, which is a habit I have never had in my life. It's embarrassing, and I know you're thinking why didn't you have to em redo it. Honestly it's a learning experience, they would have most likely gave me a really hard time to get a refund or had the same lady who obviously sucks at doing nails redo them again. Wish I could give a negative zero. I have been going to this place mostly because it is close to where I live. I went in for a manicure and pedicure Sunday, December 4. I decided to use a gel polish on my toes, and regular polish on my finger nails, since I did not feel like spending $14 and change JUST for the gel polish. The lady who did both was very sweet. By the time I got home Sunday, I noticed my nails looked questionable and giving me the side eye, like maybe the polish was not set properly because they did not use a fan or anything to dry them before adding three additional layers. By the next day Monday...it's like I have not gone to the salon in two weeks. My nail polish was all stripped and looked terrible. I called Them Tuesday, December 6 on my way from work to let them know what happened. I spoke with an ill-mannered, disrespectful, haughty and condescending "Ken"on the phone. I told him I did not expect my nails would look like that so quickly, even though it is regular polish. I did mention the polish must be cheap. He tried talking over me, with NO apologies...like good customer service should be...and proceeded to tell me it is because I did not use gel polish, and they can't do anything about it. I was very irate and said I have been using regular polish for years, and though it does not last as long as gel....no one would expect nails would look awful in less than 24 hours. He kept interrupting me and did not want want to hear my concerns. Next thing I know, he hung the phone up on me! WHO DOES THAT?! I went to the salon to let him know he has no manners and has no business dealing with customers if he has such nasty, disgusting attitude towards a paying customer, and he should watch his mouth. He kept talking over me saying it is not their concern that my nails chipped, because I did not use gel. WAY before gel, people used regular polish. They did not expect all their nails to be stripped the next day. What would be the sense of going to a salon? He was VERRYY unprofessional, nasty and unapologetic. The other young lady came to the desk to talk to me...saying I should keep my voice down because of their customers.....( get this...I was a customer too the day before) and they were very happy to take my almost $90 for mani and pedi. KEN....started talking haughtily with his nasty ass attitude " go pick a color! This is the last time!" Chile...these people don't KNOW! ( I clutched my imaginary pearls and almost popped one of the bead) I had to tell him to watch his mouth and WHO he thinks he's talking to.( I forgot about my professional attire and badge at that point). They acted like Black people coming up in there with excuses to get free service. I had to correct that. I just COULD NOT believe the unprofessionalism. I then said I will leave a review for him. At this point they acted like they were going to repaint my nails ( mind you, not one of them asked to see my nails to understand what I was talking about). I sat down, then realized real quick they did not plan to repaint at all because they had other technicians sitting around not doing anything. They just wanted to bait me. I got up after about 30 minutes to ask if my nails were going to be done. This fool, KEN, had the nerve to say no because I said I was going to write a review, and IF I TAKE DOWN THE REVIEW, THEN THEY WOULD REPAINT MY NAILS!!!!!!!!!!. BLACKMAIL. WTF. ( Glory, glory, glory. This, my people...are the people we have been supporting. If I had not said anything, they would have had me sitting there like a fool, would not repaint my nails. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE! I use this local nail bar because it's near my condominium and also they are very versatile with nail styles. The staff is really helpful which is wonderful even when they are full they treat every customer with respect; even the difficult ones. They have a great variety of powdered colors including gold glow in the dark and shimmers. On my next post I am going to be more artistic and get more wild and "fun"nails to post. read more

This was my first time trying this nail salon. And I will never go back. I'll start by saying, we (as in the black community) have to stop patronizing businesses such as this. I've learned my lesson. They literally laugh in our faces and rip us off and we continue to spend money with "them". I came in knowing to ask specifically for the price for what I wanted. I wanted a French tip pedicure and also SNS French tip short nails. Before sitting down I specifically asked for the price for both. My pedicure was $50 and my nails were $55. Instead of giving me SNS he gave me regular acrylic and said that they can do SNS with the acrylic brush. I said over 5 times I didn't want acrylic and he gave it to me anyways. I told him since he was putting acrylic on my nails I expect the price to be cheaper since I wasn't getting what I wanted. Had I not been getting my feet done at the same time as my nails, I would have just gotten up and left. I get to the counter and there was a young lady visibly upset about being overcharged for a fill-in. As soon as the young lady walked away , the guy at the counter literally started laughing thinking the whole ordeal was funny. I told them that I'll be filing a dispute about my service because I was overcharged and lied to. You sit down in the chair and they say one price, then you get to the counter to pay and they switch the price. This place is a ripoff and I'm done patronizing "their" businesses. read more

When I spoke to the manager he told me they would get me the next time. They Genuinely seem to appreciate their customers. I have a pretty popular nail salon near me but taking the 15 minute drive to this nail salon was more than worth it I was looking for something new and they did not disappoint. Wanted a pedicure so instead of driving to Decatur where I used to live. I decided to try the Shark Nails Bar on Salem Road which might be a mile from my home. First the establishment is beautiful. I was shocked to see all the pedi chairs and nail stations. That is where the compliments end. I was put in a chair after picking my polish color. First strike: I had my feet in barely warm water for two minutes before the guy started working on my feet. Second strike not asking the client what they want done? He cut my toe nails which weren't long. I usually have them shaped when they are "short". Third strike he only used the "cheese grater" what happened to the pumice stone? He spent more time on the leg/foot massage then my actual feet. When he was done polishing my toes. I wasn't asked if I wanted to go the the dryer? When I hit ready to pay. This guy who was signing people in was hovering around the P.O.S machine. He was trying to solicit a tip for whoever did you "service". I will not patronize this place again. The basic pedicure was $27.25 what an odd amount. The polish started chipping maybe two weeks after. Side note my daughter asked for two nails for he big toes. She had ingrown toe nails removed. They charged $10 per toe. When she was almost done she asked about the dryer. Her person asked her to pay before she could use the dryer. Who does that type of shit. I will take the drive to Decatur. The person I usually see is awesome. When I get the basic pedi she still goes above and beyond. The price is less than this place and the service is so much better. read more
