I have been driving past this establishment for years, but I always convinced myself that driving 30-40 minutes into the city was the only way to get the best waxing experience. Then I saw a TikTok where someone mentioned they got the chocolate wax here and that it was less painful. That immediately caught my attention, so I did some research and found so many amazing reviews that I decided to give them a try. I walked in and was warmly greeted by the receptionist, who took the time to explain the differences between the wax options. After hearing the benefits, I decided to go with the chocolate wax. After using the restroom, I was taken back almost immediately by Gleiciana. It had been about three months since my last wax because between nursing school and work, I just haven't had time to make the long drive to my usual wax studio. I already knew it was going to be painful regardless of the type of wax because I had waited so long. Gleiciana was absolutely amazing. She applied pressure after each pull, which really helped minimize the discomfort. She was incredibly thorough and paid close attention to detail throughout the entire appointment. She even waxed my inner thighs and happy trail without charging extra, which I've never experienced before. She also took the time to tweeze the stubborn hairs to make sure everything was perfect. One thing I especially appreciated was how she had me bring my legs to my chest for the backside instead of having me lie on my stomach and spread my cheeks. For personal reasons, that made me feel much more comfortable, and I truly appreciated her professionalism and approach. This was honestly one of the best waxes I've ever had and, without a doubt, the smoothest results I've ever gotten. Usually after a Brazilian, I'm pretty sore and throbbing afterward from the trauma to my skin. This time, I barely had any discomfort afterward. I did take an ibuprofen before my appointment, but I've done that before and still experienced soreness, so I honestly think the chocolate wax may have made a difference. As far as whether the chocolate wax is less painful, I can't say for certain since I had gone so long between appointments. However, I can confidently say the overall experience was exceptional. The location is convenient, the customer service was top-tier from start to finish, and Gleiciana exceeded my expectations. Rio I've been to this plaza dozens of times and never noticed this place. They opened the doors at 9am and checked me in for my 9:20 appointment. I only saw two other customers while there, but maybe they just aren't as busy in the morning. There's a sign on the door saying masks are required, but no other Covid precautions. No hand sanitizer, no seats marked to not use for social distancing, and no mention of "6 feet. On either side of the door are two seats, and on another wall is a couch. At any point, there was only one person sitting in there with me so if appointments are staggered maintaining distance shouldn't be an issue. The one bathroom is larger than I expected with a standing shower. They have the paper towel dispenser with the stuff that feels almost like bathroom tissue and tears each time you tug on it, so you have to pull multiple times to get an amount that will actually dry your hands, but you never get that amount, and after trying ten times you have almost enough pieces of it to wipe your nose, and end up just wiping your hands on your shirt. Fortunately I didn't have to go through this because I couldn't get a grip on the few centimeters of tissue sticking out of the opening. There are about six or seven treatment rooms and some appear to have a tinted glass wall. I had Samantha do my full body wax and vajacial. She directed me to a room and asked that I undress only from the waist down, which I thought was a little strange since I was getting a full body wax. I undressed but had nothing to cover myself with and the exposure made me uncomfortable. I put my jacket over me and I'm glad I did. The table I was lying on is right in front of the door. There was no curtain or standing privacy screen, although there are privacy screens standing outside of the bathroom. Each time the door opened anyone walking by could have seen too much of me; and Samantha had to go out a few times. Since I was in the first room anyone headed to a room had to walk by this room. She started from my legs and worked her way up with a roll-on wax stick. I appreciate that she didn't pause to remind me that pain was coming. She just ripped sections off one right after another, and it was over soon enough. She gripped the strip well enough that it came off in one motion. I have coarse, thick 4C hair and there's always some that will not succumb to wax. She was thorough; waxing over some places twice before getting the hairs with tweezers. She got everything! Including the landing strip that I forgot to ask be left behind because I'm use to being asked how much I'd like taken off. My armpits were done with melted wax on a wooden spatula. She finished by applying Vitamin E to the waxed areas. Samantha left the room and came back with a rolling cart for the vajacial. She rubbed something cold on me, which was a welcomed relief. It was the consistency of a thick liquid face wash. She did a gentle scrub before wiping it off spreading on a green mask, who's chill was also welcomed. It smelled like tea tree oil. Samantha turned on the steamer (that felt nice) and stepped out for about ten minutes to let the mask sit. She lifted it off in one, putty-like sheet, then used a paper towel to scrub off the little that stuck to me. When she said she was done, I was wondering about waxing the top half of my full body. I learned that "full body" includes legs, bikini, butt, and underarms. So back, arms, and face would be separate. A little sad since I recently discovered that I have a mustache, which I then asked her to wax. I paid and was on my way. My stomach sank each time she had to open the door while I'm there without pants. That really bothered me. The rest of the experience was as expected. Everything is baby bottom smooth. read more

Great experience! I was a walk in. Though they were booked the accommodated me. Jacquelina serviced and I appreciated her so much. She was so nice and very professional. I chose the cocoa Brazilian wax. She knew what she was doing. The conversation was great, the pressure didn't cause any after redness or irritation and overall my experience was well beyond my expectations. Though I'm not from here I would recommend this establishment to anyone who lives here. Con: they charged me incorrectly and had to call me to get $5. It was a little interesting as it was their error her communication was very apologetic and kind about it. I was happy to oblige and offer the additional $5 over the phone. Would recommend slowing down to make sure you charge the correct amount so not to inconvenience your customers in the future. read more

I received a brazilian body wax & hydrojelly 7/24 -- at 12:20pm with Mariani -- The waxing experience was very painful & the wax was extremely hot. The waxer attempted to use box fans to cool the wax... not ideal as it's not temperature controlled. The wax was still very hot most times. There was no "take a deep breath" at any point, just ripping and it took several (more than 4-6 passes) on each area. I've been getting waxed for 3 years so the hair typically comes out easily and takes no more than 2 passes. The next morning, I experienced a lot of itching & minor stinging. I noticed 1 blister on my inner leg/labia and 4 large hard lumps in various other areas of my genitals. The 1st blister burst in shower and the lumps turned into 3 boils & 1 carbuncle. They were extremely painful and warm/tender to touch. One boil in crevice of leg, one carbuncle on top of vagina and 2 boils between butt cheeks. The placement of these boils made it impossible to stand, sit or walk comfortably for over 2 weeks. The boils felt like rocks under my skin and got larger. Once they started to drain, I had to wear sanitary napkins to avoid messes. My 30th birthday was that Saturday and this experience completely ruined the experience. I was in excruciating pain, could barely walk and could not be intimate. The scarring and wounds left my the wax experience are embarrassing and have made me feel shameful, not beautiful. I regret making the decision to try a new facility as now my health and livelihood have been affected greatly. As the boils worsened, I went to urgent care and was prescribed antibiotics. I still have scarring and 1 open wound as of 8/17. I contacted the facility early on but they were barely available, unhelpful and I did not even receive a refund. The facility did not provide ANY kind of customer service after I explained my issue. read more

This is the worst place you could ever imagine going to for waxing services. They are rude, unprofessional, and petty to say the least. I had an 11:40am appointment. I was late because it's Sat. I was at the dentist and it ran over. I've been on time and early on multiple occasions and still had to wait so I figured it would be fine. I got there at 11:50am. The front desk female stated my appointment was at 11:40 and now she is with someone else. I said ok, I will wait. 25 mins goes by and I have to ask her what is going on, she then informs me "she will see you at 12:35pm". I said fine, I will be right back. I went to the grocery store to kill time which I could have done early had this incompetent excuse of a " receptionist" communicated that when I walked in. I come back on time for 12:35pm no one is at the front to greet or anything. 5 mins later the receptionist comes up and I have to ask her to confirm she said 12:35 because now it's 12:40 and I have things to do, she says she's finishing up with someone she'll be right with you. Another 5 mins passes. I walk to the back to wash my hands and all of their wax employees including the receptionist whom I thought should be monitoring the door, were are all back there eating having a grand time. At what point if at all were they going to say, hey, paying customer, we are all on lunch, and we are just going to have you sit here without communicating until god knows how long. They are disgusting. I then grab my things and walked out having lost an entire hour of my day. This would never happen at Sweet Peach in highland. I only come here because of convenience, but this will be the last time. I tip, I'm easy as I usually only do half leg, and I'm respectful. This is not the cleanest, nor updated, nor most sanitary wax studio I have been to. The least they can do is be polite, and professional. Do not go to this place. Please save your time and money. Very terrible customer service. Nobody was sitting at the desk when I walked in, I could hear a lady talking in the back. I said "Hello", one of the ladies opened the door and said sign in and someone would be with me. She yelled for the other lady who I initially heard and she responded "What, I just sat down to eat", the lady informed her there was a customer at the front. She responded "they have to wait until i'm done my food". Finally the lady comes to the front to say she is now over her time and cannot accept my service (full body wax), but she can do a brazilian and underarms. Because my birthday is in 2 days I had no choice but to accept it. She rushed the job applying hot burning wax on to my skin & immediately snatching it off eight out applying pressure. Her name was Jojo, she apparently only works this location on Saturdays. FYI- I usually go to Camp Creek location, but figured i'd try this location since it was closer to me since I moved. I usually go to the Camp Creek location, but I recently moved across town so I needed to find a Rio closer. I decided to give this location a try. I came for a Brazilian wax from Samantha since she was highly recommended in the reviews. It's safe to say she did a great job! No hairs left behind and she made me feel extremely comfortable. The wax was put on a little too hot at times, but I got through it. There's just no curtain when you come in the room for once you take you clothes off and they have to re-enter the room and the receptionist at the front desk was a little unprofessional. To start off I got a Brazilian wax and a chin wax from Sammie. This is a new spot I wanted to try. I only came here and requested her based on the reviews, I'm not sure if it was a bad day for her but her vibe was very off. She wasn't rude but just standoffish, she didn't introduce herself she just said "hey, you ready". I had to ask her if Sammie was her name. I'm not the type to like to talk while I get waxed but I didn't get a welcoming vibe. I love how she is straight to the point with waxing though. She does her job and get the job done well. She was fast and I haven't got a wax in months and surprisingly it didn't hurt that bad. I was a little thrown off by how when she finished I didn't get a mirror to even see how she did. I literally had to pull my phone out to inspect. I will come here one more time just to see if I get the same vibe and if I do then this will not be my regular spot, i will find somewhere else to go. Update: So my kitty is fine she did good on that. As far as my "crack" she did good too but there was a little wax leftover... I'm only giving four stars because of how fast she was at finishing and did a pretty good job as far but I do have to keep in mind that I was serviced an hour and a half before they closed. I came in at 5pm and was told to come back at 6. The reception called me 15 min later to come back, so I believe I was serviced at 5:30 and they close at 7pm. Regardless of the time I did pay for the job to be done correctly and tipped $5 because by my quick inspection on my phone she did fine. First time visiting here and came based off of the reviews and location. I booked with Camilla and she was awesome! This location is very bright and clean. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and checked me in quickly. Camilla came out led me to the room to get started. She was very no - nonsense, efficient and thorough. It was over before I could even get scared about the pain. She knows what she is doing and the baby powder she adds at the end is a great touch. Already booked my next appointment and recommend her to a friend. One more thing some might feel that the neighborhood is sketchy (I didn't but then again I grew up in the hood so this area is decent enough for me). I always come to this location I received a text message saying I have $10 off so I went and booked for appointment for Augment 2, at 12:40 for $25 so after I booked it I realized that I put the wrong time so I canceled it and tried to rebook it but when I tried I notice they was charging me the full price witch is $35. I gets on the phone to call the Decatur location I explained to her the reason why I was calling and the employee ask me for my number and name. The employee comes back and say that I see that you booked for August 2 for $25. So I asked her can she take the $10 off because when I try to do it it's charging me $35 instead of $25 she told me that she can't do it witch is a lie because it was done before. So proceeded to ask her what's her manger name because you can't help me. Which she gave me the manger but when I ask her what her name was for I can tell the manager who I was talking to she told me she couldn't give me her name and proceeded to say I'm texting my manger now and told me to have a good day and hung up on my face. Just unprofessional. I calls back she must of put the phone off the hook because I got the busy tone. so I called on my other phone and it was still off the hook I waited 5 minutes and called back she answers and I said did you just hang up on me after I asked you what was your name. She still says I'm waiting for my manager to text me back I told her I want you to know that I recorded our whole conversation and your manger going to listen to when you just hung up me I will be coming up there. Then right after I said that she going to try to give me her name it's to late sweetie you should of been did that when I asked you the first time. I called maybe 5 mins early to arriving to see what time they took their last client and the lady told me to come on. Makes no sense for this establishment to be so rude to let me stand outside and they ignore me. The felt the women that did my wax was rushing and didn't know what she was doing. She was all over the place with the placement of the wax. I was covered with wax strands by the end of it.
