This Sharks Fish and Chicken is getting worse and worse. My husband bought us some catfish today, Friday 7/25/25. It was horrible, old, tasteless. Some months ago the chicken was old and black. Now the fish. We've given them too many chances. A waste of money. Several of these places are serving old black looking fish & chicken. Tonight, I ordered 20 wings dipped in honey barbeque sauce from the Sharks in South Holland. When my son came back from picking up the order he had legs and thighs. I called the store to let them know they got the order wrong as I ordered wings, and I don't even eat legs and thighs. He insisted that was what I ordered, did not even want to hear me out, and flat out told me that that's what I ordered and he was busy and had to go. No consideration that he may have made a mistake because they are so infallible that they don't ever get the orders wrong. I was stuck with a $36 order of food I couldn't eat. This is poor customer service when Sharks refused to admit they got it wrong. I have gone to this restaurant for years and ordered the same thing. As good as you can get from a sharks. Cole slaw is sweet and creamy and wet just as I like it with a surprising but nice touch of I think cinnamon. Beware though, they do refry chicken and the result is not always good. Make sure you ask for freshly made and I usually get extra lemon pepper. One of the guys is a better cook (the tall thin one). Very much hit or miss. The service here is just plain awful, it's like this place has a job requirement that all cashiers be just plain rude and unfriendly. Like I get it, you hate your job, but as a PAYING customer that's not my fault nor my concern. Anyways, I usually get the jumbo shrimp w/ extra lemon pepper, they're normally good, but the regular 1lb of shrimp is really hit or miss... This last batch of shrimp I had tasted like they had feathers??? The fish is hit or miss as well... I would stay away from the nuggets and stick with the filets, or the tails. Also, the chicken is just plain awful in all forms (wings, tenders,etc.) They're small and they always taste like they've been cooked and reheated... The good thing is that they have a mild sauce station in the corner, where you can get as much mild sauce as you can pump... The bad news is if you're going to have a station like this, then you must keep it clean! How the hell am I supposed to feel comfortable getting sauce from a station where mild sauce is everywhere? On the "clean" cups and tops that we're supposed to use to get the sauce, all over the wall and floor surrounding the station???? The food is good but the customer service is very iffy. Tried to call in my order on 4/19 at 8:30 pm, but kept getting an error message stating that the number was not taking calls at the moment, only to find out that the cashier was on the phone talking to one of her friends when i got there to place my order in person, which is why they weren't able to take calls for orders. She seemed very unconcerned. If the food is good but the service is lousy, I usually end up taking my business elsewhere. I don't spend my money at this restaurant like I used to. DO not waste your time going to this location... I ordered there special barbecue wings but what I received was about ten pieces of fat hard crusted balls. My husband asked for a refund and was told that would not be done. He said they were good wings and nothing was wrong with them. Chicken is what I expected not balls of crust or boneless wings.
