"Shuck It" Oyster Bar is a reasonably priced Louisiana Cajun Style restaurant that offers "a curated selection of freshly shucked oysters served with flair, pan roast, live-action kettles, and classic gumbo, accompanied by libations." The wait staff was exceptionally attentive but not overbearing. The food was tremendous. For starters I suggest a classic Caesar Salad -- romaine hearts, anchovy, sourdough croutons, horseradish, and a delicious Caesar dressing. The Clam Chowder, New England or Manhattan though my preference is for, and this review is of, the classic New England chowder, was rich, with FRESH oysters clearly made from scratch in-house. The Gulf Oysters on the 1/2 Shell were similarly FRESH and delicious. Finally the "Prince Edward's Mussels" are served in a variety of unique styles but again I prefer classic style dishes so I enjoyed the steamed in white wine, garlic and herbs. The Gumbo is simply remarkable! Creole stew cooked with andouille sausage and okra. Served with steamed rice is common to the five styles: 1) Poarch Style - Shrimp, crab, lobster; 2) Shrimp; 3) Crab; 4) Lobster; and 5) Chicken varying in price from $30-$20. My version was clearly made to order--classic NOLA style gumbo with lobster as an add in--shrimp, crab, lobster, chicken and andouille sausage. My fiance had 2lbs of king crab legs and while they were very expensive for only 2lbs (we get it - market price but this was A LOT), they did taste like they had been frozen for awhile. First, I did not have a problem with the price because it was $60.00 per person and I paid for my daughter, son, and daughter-in-law, as well as myself. They were very unprofessional. One waitress came out and stated that we could order onions and mushrooms on our steak, but that would be an extra charge, if the bride state it was okay. I went to the bride, and they told her that it would be an extra $10.00, I gave her $15.00. So, at that point, they came out and took our orders and among the 4 of us we ordered a steak medium well with just a little charred on it. Well, I had to wait because the waitress came out and stated that they had charred it too much and they had to put me another one in. Now it is half an hour later and everybody in the place is complaining because now they are coming back stating that you can't order the onions or mushrooms that they have already given to the bride. Don't nobody want to go back and say give it back 1 /2 hour later, so we let her keep it. My steak came out burnt. Also, the waiter came around with water and one of the people at my table had gone out to the bar and purchased her a drink and he poured water in her glass that already had her drink that she paid for, and he told her that he would replace it.
