Service was decent, nothing too crazy. Ambiance was overall calm, wasn't crowded, it was clean. So we thought. My fiancé ordered a fried crawfish platter and my mother in law and i had boils. It is now hours later and my fiancé is VIOLENTLY throwing up the same food he digested earlier that day!!! I really wanted to give a higher rating because our waitress seemed to be doing her best, but unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience. We walked in on a Saturday night and were seated right away. The place was a little busy, but not all tables were filled. We received our drinks within 15 minutes, and our order was taken within 25, but then we ended up waiting over an hour and a half for a single crab boil to share. The waitress explained that they were behind due to a kitchen employee getting into an argument and walking out. She did bring us hush puppies about five minutes before the food arrived.. once we got the boil, we ate our meal quickly since the restaurant was closing and we were starving. While the seasoning sauce on the boil was tasty, the crab, shrimp, mussels, and other items were all very overcooked. Enjoyed a delicious seafood boil at Saucy Crab with my daughter and niece at the Homewood location. We stopped in at a perfect time before standard dinner rush and basically had the restaurant to ourselves. Our server Maurice was outstanding! He got us seated with drinks almost immediately. Wonderful personality and good sense of humor. Crab legs wasn't fresh, sweet potato fries were warmed up in a microwave, sauce was thin and runny with no flavor, very oily, pink lemonade not good and we had to ask for crab crackers. It's so unfortunate that this crab place is so close to me and I can't go there. The biggest reason being they put automatic gratuity even if you are ALONE!! I'm a person who loves to solo dine. Sit at the bar, relax, maybe read a chapter of my book and enjoy a drink and food. But anytime I'd come they would never have a official bartender at the bar and even though I'm alone a automatic gratuity goes into the bill. That tends to ruin the experience because it becomes pricey for crab boil that's literally just "okay". It's unfortunate because I live so close to this location but have to drive all the way to tinley just to enjoy crab boil without the extra charges. They have good combos but again by the time you get a drink and maybe add some sausage and egg to the bag + gratuity it feels like your no longer getting a deal. Maybe think about changing that policy and only adding gratuity to 5+ parties like most places. But adding gratuity for ONE person feels greedy. read more

I ordered a seafood boil on 12/21 through Uber Eats and I was not please with my order. I was in the area, and decided to try them out for the first time. One of the first red flags was the fact that my food was ready for pickup in 5 minutes. The second red flag was the fact that the parking lot was close to empty. The third red flag was the fact that it was completely empty inside! I mean, not a soul was in there. Normally, when I go to seafood restaurants the cashier would show you your food prior to leaving (I guess to make sure that they got your order right), but this place didn't. When I opened my bag, I definitely wasn't please with my "seafood boil". The crab legs were close to meatless and very small, there was barely any lobster to the lobster tail, and the food was cold. Mind you, I stay 10 away from the place so my food should've been piping hot. I paid $50 for this, but have gotten better at other seafood restaurants and paid less. I will say there's an automatic 18% gratuity but our waitress was great and I get wanting to compensate servers well when they're out literally risking their health. It is unfortunate that I have to leave such a low review. I used to go to Hot and Juicy crab and Tinley Park which changed to Saucy Crab new Owners. When I heard they were opening one near me in Homewood I got excited. When it 1st opened up my husband and I went during our anniversary weekend. The waitress who helped us was very good and honestly she made the experience enjoyable. She went over, above and beyond in service she even brought out a slice cake for us. When my husband was not too happy with his drink she refunded it and brought back a different one on the house. So I decided to go back yesterday for a second time but with my daughter. A month later. When we walked in we were not really greeted we stood there for a minute. When we were seated we had to wait almost 10 or 15 minutes before the waiter finally came around. We ordered our food and drinks. It took forever to come out. The one pound seafood bag did not feel like a pound at all. The crab legs were very thin and skimpy. It wasn't even hot. The waiter forgot to bring out our bib and napkins and bucket and we sat there 5 minutes trying to get his attention. My Bahama Mama drink tasted horrible. I only had 2 sips. I told him I did not wanted it and they could take it back. I would just drink water. They told me I had to keep the drink or order something else. I picked a different drink which was of lesser amount. They told me I would not get a refund or a difference in price. This 2nd drink was not good at all. I didn't drink it at all. Whoever worked the bar was obviously not a mixologist or a bartender. The total came to $125 but this included one advertiser of gator bites. Plus 2 drinks and a service fee or gratuity already added of 20%. Not even worth $40 to me. Never again will I return. read more
