This is supposed to be a pound of shrimp $26, a pound of mussels $19, a half pound of snow crab $28, and garlic noodles $4. A freaking joke!

If I could rate this place negative numbers I would! Y'all gotta stop opening restaurants and playing in the face of your customers bc WTF was this?! Ramen, overcooked COOKED shrimp, and frozen mussels for $79?! RIDICULOUS! Why is it not in a bag?! Why is there no garlic? Where is the sauce?! And still forgot some of my order. I will never be back. This is exactly why you have no customers.

So I was going to another establishment and was super hungry from ripping and running all day and I came up to this place. So I've checked it out. The staff was very nice. The restaurant was very clean and organized. Of course you will smell seafood, but again, it's a crab joint. I've ordered the amaretto sour for my drink and this is the only place that offers flavored which I've never had for this cocktail. I've ordered the "The Navigator " which is a 1/2 lb shrimp and 1/2 snow crab. The size runs mid size but comes with potatoes and corn. The only downside for the sauce is their butter sauce. The server said they add extra sauces was a tab bit salty for me which I have to watch out for my blood pressure. I've also ordered fried shrimp. Food came out hot and the atmosphere was chilled and the music was amazing. R&B classics and Neo soul. My type of vibe. Again the staff were great and compliments to the chef. I will definitely come back in the future. Yes they do add gratuity. Again, nice chilled crab boil spot.

This was my first time visiting and of course I noticed the restaurant from social media. I'll try to capture as much as I can in this review so sit tight. I got there right at opening time and they were ready and open. The ordering process was a little weird. The owner told us to sit down and then come to the front when we were ready to order. I hate having to sit down then get back up to order but it wasn't busy so it wasn't too bad. I got a shrimp bag but I wasn't able to sub out the corn or potatoes for broccoli so I ended up adding it on. I do appreciate the veggie option though. Also, the smack and cheese, as they call it, was unavailable even though it said available Friday through Sunday. When asked why it wasn't available, the owner said she was glad she didn't make it because nobody ordered it the day before. I thought that was an odd response and it felt like I was being punished for the previous day's customer's lack of ordering the dish-odd. Nonetheless, the shrimp were fresh and plentiful in the bag. The flavor was good but not anything I haven't had before. I had fiery spice and it was perfect. I ordered a South Gate cocktail which was very small but good and stiff, how I like it. The bartender (owner's husband) was cool and offered decent banter with myself and my friend. She ordered a Crabalina drink and enjoyed it as well. My friend also had the fried shrimp and said they were good. The owner told us they had music via DJ on the wknd around 5. I'd def comee back for that experience. Overall, I had a solid meal and I left full and satisfied...I'd like to try the macaroni next time though.

My last visit was when they were still on Old Western Ave in Blue Island--way overdue for a return. Let's start with the food--absolutely delicious. The three of us kicked things off with the Cast Iron Cornbread, and trust me, don't skip it. Perfectly done and a great start to the meal. For mains, we went with the Pitmaster's N'awlins Gumbo, Hickory Buttered BBQ Shrimp, and Burnt Ends. Every dish was spot on--flavorful, well-executed, and clearly made with care. The restaurant itself is pristine--clean, polished, and classy without feeling stuffy. Service was just as strong. Our server, Nick, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Safe to say, it will NOT be another 30 years before my next visit. Highly recommend.

My coworkers and I would go to the old location from time to time. Their new location opened in 2019, but this is the first time that I got to check it out. The restaurant is gorgeous! One thing that I noticed was all staff that I encountered generally looked happy. The host was super friendly and offered vegan or gluten free menus if we needed. The person that seated us also was running food and ensuring tables were kept clean. Since it had been so long since I dined here, the menu appeared smaller. I appreciated that our server Adam explained some of his favorites. The cocktail that I got was excellent. The cornbread appetizer was huge. I went with the gumbo and it was full of meat pieces. It was really flavorful. Adam was super friendly and made us feel welcome. Parking lot is tight, but they also offer valet. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some Louisiana style cusine.

Modern, classic elegance with an appealing subtle color palette. Simply beautiful! The service was outstanding. They were highly attentive and responded to all of our needs quickly and happily in a very friendly, courteous way, Daisy and her team of bus support were unbelievably attentive. If you go on a day that she is there, ask to be seated in her section. Good service with good food has a tendency to take your experience to atmospheric levels! The bread baskets were filled with rustic Italian bread that was so delicious I thought I was at a trattoria in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Instead of butter, the upscale olive oil dip was very authentic. The menu offers a wide variety of choices for everyone that appeals to carnivores and vegetarians alike. Pastas, beef, pork, lamb and seafood. I asked to substitute one starch for another and the chef made it happen! The food was incredibly fresh. My dining companions has the Maple glazed salmon. The other had the lamb chops. Both raved about the freshness of their meals as well as the perfection to which their dishes were cooked! I had the scallops and substituted the starch with Truffle Fries. The theatrics associated with the presentation of my scallops was breathtaking. It was au flambé! They were so fresh and slightly crusted, i'd never tasted anything that delicious before. Even popular and legendary EAST COAST seafood restaurants could learn a lot about the preparation and presentation of scallops. My meal appropriately mixed textures, tangy tartness and sweetness in the veggie dish consisting of chopped zucchini sweet potatoes and spinach. The way that our meals were plated and presented was sheer "ART," worthy of a museum display. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny! If I were to recommend an enhancement, I'd recommend some soft background music/jazz or a singer and pianist. It's that type of place. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. The presentation was spectacular! I can't wait to dine al fresco when the weather permits!

I also understand that servers sometimes make assumptions about guests. However, every customer deserves the same level of attention and service, regardless of what a server thinks the tip may be. According to the receipt provided by the manager, I believe our server's name was Jaden. Unfortunately, she never introduced herself and only checked on our table once throughout the meal. Most of the service we received actually came from the manager on duty. I found myself repeatedly getting up to ask for things until I finally asked Jaden, if she was our server. I hoped that would prompt a little more attention to our table, but it didn't. Instead, she remained focused on another table that had arrived before us and was still there after we left. I watched her check on them four or five times while our table was largely ignored. Whether intentionally or not, it certainly felt as though she had decided our table wasn't worth her time. If that was her assumption, then in this particular case she was correct about one thing: my husband and I will not tip for bad service. I have no problem rewarding excellent service, but I also believe tips should reflect the quality of the experience provided. Rather than leaving money for poor service, I chose to give the cash I had to the busboys, who were attentive and helpful throughout the evening. The reason I'm sharing this review is because I don't want one bad experience to overshadow what has otherwise been a good restaurant. I've dined here several times before, live nearby, and have always enjoyed my visits. That's why this experience stood out so much. I'm willing to give the restaurant another chance because I know the level of service they're capable of providing. My hope is that when I return, every guest will receive the same level of attention and hospitality, regardless of assumptions about who they are or what they may tip. Great service should be consistent, and that's what keeps customers coming back. One final thought: tipping culture only works when both sides do their part. GUESTS should recognize and reward good service, and SERVERS should provide quality service to every table. When assumptions are made on either side, EVERYONE loses.

Since I was solo, I sat at the bar. I wanted to start with spinach artichoke dip. There was none. So, I ordered carrot and black bean tacos. The tacos were a good backup. It took a few swallows before the flavor kicked in. The sauce was tasty, but was maybe a notch above mildly seasoned. I have a feeling that the tomatoes in the recipe added a little acidity. With the addition of spinach, this dish landed in gourmet territory. From what I gather, the restaurant has been under new management for a few years. It feels like they are working out kinks. The shrimp came out and instead of having colossal shrimp we had small shrimp, maybe even baby shrimp. We addressed the concern with the shrimp and they said they're not going to charge us for it. With our pasta came a side salad, the salad and the salad dressing, which was a lemon vinaigrette, was good. When we received the pasta, there was only four pieces of sausage, the chicken was unseasoned and the sauce was cheese sauce with hot sauce added, no other seasoning. Nothing about the pasta was Nola.
