Modern, classic elegance with an appealing subtle color palette. Simply beautiful! The service was outstanding. They were highly attentive and responded to all of our needs quickly and happily in a very friendly, courteous way, Daisy and her team of bus support were unbelievably attentive. If you go on a day that she is there, ask to be seated in her section. Good service with good food has a tendency to take your experience to atmospheric levels! The bread baskets were filled with rustic Italian bread that was so delicious I thought I was at a trattoria in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Instead of butter, the upscale olive oil dip was very authentic. The menu offers a wide variety of choices for everyone that appeals to carnivores and vegetarians alike. Pastas, beef, pork, lamb and seafood. I asked to substitute one starch for another and the chef made it happen! The food was incredibly fresh. My dining companions has the Maple glazed salmon. The other had the lamb chops. Both raved about the freshness of their meals as well as the perfection to which their dishes were cooked! I had the scallops and substituted the starch with Truffle Fries. The theatrics associated with the presentation of my scallops was breathtaking. It was au flambé! They were so fresh and slightly crusted, i'd never tasted anything that delicious before. Even popular and legendary EAST COAST seafood restaurants could learn a lot about the preparation and presentation of scallops. My meal appropriately mixed textures, tangy tartness and sweetness in the veggie dish consisting of chopped zucchini sweet potatoes and spinach. The way that our meals were plated and presented was sheer "ART," worthy of a museum display. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny! If I were to recommend an enhancement, I'd recommend some soft background music/jazz or a singer and pianist. It's that type of place. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. The presentation was spectacular! I can't wait to dine al fresco when the weather permits!

The Thursday special was the highlight of the meal. The lamb chops were well-seasoned, and the lemon drops absolutely saved the day. The appetizers were decent too. The crab cakes were a nice size, but at $12 each, they felt overpriced. I think serving three smaller crab cakes for around $15 would make more sense and create a better presentation. I didn't personally try the oysters, but everyone in my group agreed they would've been much better without the cheese, which overpowered the flavor. Now...the main attraction--the item the restaurant is literally named after--the crab bagz. Unfortunately, they were more like trash bagz. The shrimp tasted like a frozen bag of shrimp from Aldi that was simply boiled with a little butter. The smoked sausage looked and tasted more like a boiled hot dog. Frying or grilling the sausage before adding it to the bag would make a huge difference in both flavor and texture. The corn tasted old, almost like it had been sitting in seasoned water for hours and was simply reheated when ordered. By the time I got to the potato, I had completely lost interest. The entire boil needs more seasoning cooked into the seafood and vegetables--not just added afterward. A heavier Cajun dry seasoning and deeper flavor infusion would go a long way. New Orleans is my second home, so yes, my standards for seafood boils are high. But this just missed the mark. If I came back, it would be for the drinks, lamb chops, and appetizers. Those are the real stars here. Unfortunately, the crab bagz--the signature dish--just aren't it.

I originally came for brunch, but my date arrived late and brunch ended at 3:00 p.m., so we had to wait for dinner service to start at 4:00 p.m. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The presentation was nice, served in a large bowl, and the sauce was delicious. However, the portion felt small for the size of the bowl--only four shrimp and not nearly enough grits. My date ordered the same dish and felt the same way. The biggest disappointment was that the food arrived only room temperature. It seems like more and more restaurants are serving food that isn't hot, and that's frustrating. My date also ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The burger came out without the fries, although they were brought out later. Overall, the experience was okay. The atmosphere and building are great, but the food temperature and portion size, left me underwhelmed. I might come back one day to try the brunch menu, but based on this visit, it's probably not a place I'd rush back to.
