First, the decor is beautiful. Simple. Modern, classic elegance with an appealing subtle color palette. Simply beautiful! The service was outstanding. They were highly attentive and responded to all of our needs quickly and happily in a very friendly, courteous way, Daisy and her team of bus support were unbelievably attentive. If you go on a day that she is there, ask to be seated in her section. Good service with good food has a tendency to take your experience to atmospheric levels! The bread baskets were filled with rustic Italian bread that was so delicious I thought I was at a trattoria in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Instead of butter, the upscale olive oil dip was very authentic. The menu offers a wide variety of choices for everyone that appeals to carnivores and vegetarians alike. Pastas, beef, pork, lamb and seafood. I asked to substitute one starch for another and the chef made it happen! The food was incredibly fresh. My dining companions has the Maple glazed salmon. The other had the lamb chops. Both raved about the freshness of their meals as well as the perfection to which their dishes were cooked! I had the scallops and substituted the starch with Truffle Fries. The theatrics associated with the presentation of my scallops was breathtaking. It was au flambé! They were so fresh and slightly crusted, i'd never tasted anything that delicious before. Even popular and legendary EAST COAST seafood restaurants could learn a lot about the preparation and presentation of scallops. My meal appropriately mixed textures, tangy tartness and sweetness in the veggie dish consisting of chopped zucchini sweet potatoes and spinach. The way that our meals were plated and presented was sheer "ART," worthy of a museum display. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny! My husband and I dined here on Sunday evening, and unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I understand that serving tables can be demanding. I also understand that servers sometimes make assumptions about guests. However, every customer deserves the same level of attention and service, regardless of what a server thinks the tip may be. According to the receipt provided by the manager, I believe our server's name was Jaden. Unfortunately, she never introduced herself and only checked on our table once throughout the meal. Most of the service we received actually came from the manager on duty. I found myself repeatedly getting up to ask for things until I finally asked Jaden, if she was our server. I hoped that would prompt a little more attention to our table, but it didn't. Instead, she remained focused on another table that had arrived before us and was still there after we left. I watched her check on them four or five times while our table was largely ignored. Whether intentionally or not, it certainly felt as though she had decided our table wasn't worth her time. If that was her assumption, then in this particular case she was correct about one thing: my husband and I will not tip for bad service. I have no problem rewarding excellent service, but I also believe tips should reflect the quality of the experience provided. Rather than leaving money for poor service, I chose to give the cash I had to the busboys, who were attentive and helpful throughout the evening. The reason I'm sharing this review is because I don't want one bad experience to overshadow what has otherwise been a good restaurant. I've dined here several times before, live nearby, and have always enjoyed my visits. That's why this experience stood out so much. I'm willing to give the restaurant another chance because I know the level of service they're capable of providing. I really wanted to live this place. We need high quality restaurants in the area and the ambiance screams high end spot. For the price, the prime delmonico ribeye was just so so. I've had better choice cuts from the supermarket. The mashed potatoes were buttery and very nice. The Italian chopped salad was more coleslaw like than I prefer. The server was wonderful - WHEN she was available. Our wine order sat on the bar for 15 minutes and we could see it sitting there. We did not get it in time to enjoy with meal. They did the right thing and comped the wine and I asked for the manager and he never came. The worst thing to our party was the added convenience fee for using a charge card. What? They should put that fee in the price of the meal- no one carries around $450 in cash to pay for a high end meal. We came across this restaurant online, and what a find! The atmosphere is elegant, yet relaxed. The entire staff were friendly, the manager, Rich took time to explain the restaurant's history as well as how the owner came up with the name. Very nicely decorated, well lit and nice sitting. Bestie ordered Caesar salad and their maple bacon for an appetizer. I ordered the calamari. My appetizer looked amazing but lacked flavor. My friend's Caesar salad was nicely prepared but was small and the bok choy leaves served no purpose. Her bacon was not what she expected. Coming off her high for experiencing a bacon flight at another restaurant, she was somewhat disappointed to find pork belly vs bacon (yes it states pork belly on the menu, but that's neither here nor there lol). For our entrees, I ordered the branzino. Bestie ordered her steak with a loaded baked potato. My branzino looked amazing, excellent presentation but with ok flavor. My bestie likes her steak cooked to the Gods, well done, and it was just that, well done. Loaded baked potato was...ehh. We were looking for a steakhouse and this was first up. The kids Alfredo was ordered first and we added shrimp to it. Since it was an Italian steakhouse, the pasta should be good. The Alfredo was excellent and the shrimp were large. The filet was way overcooked. Both of them! I should have had them to make it over, but I didn't. My fault. The Mac and cheese was very cheesy. It was actually way too much cheese. The grilled asparagus were good but they didn't have a grilled flavor. The bartender was our server and she wasn't very attentive because she was also tending to the bar. The restaurant was well decorated. It was connected to a hotel and the smell of the hotel as you entered was not welcoming. I heard other guests complain as well. I was disappointed. But I would definitely return for the Alfredo. When they open this hotel, they sold it as a premium place to have dinner and stay locally. The hotel has always been very nice. I actually had my daughter's wedding at this hotel when they first opened in the lobby and it was beautiful. - Now to the restaurant it has had some struggles with the Previous restaurants in this location that said this new restaurant is amazing. I love the change, in the decor that they made the staff is much more pleasant and the menu is phenomenal. I was very impressed with everything about the restaurant. Everything seems very fresh. I be hungry and forget pics these days. Shrimp scampi from the starters menu have been consistently superb. Crab cakes are cool. The mixed greens and guacamole that coupled it was sheer freshness. The sauce is a hard no for me. Pitars Pinot Grigio was cool but the house paired better. We always top our meals off with the butter cake here. The scallops were aflame coming to the table. Great presentation and delicious! I had the wagyu with garlic herb butter cooked to my liking. Branzino was also good. We had the spinach and asparagus as the sides and they were wonderful. Drinks were a little slow but good. The bathrooms are downstairs but there is an elevator if needed. Birthday Dinner 5/29 (3.5 Stars) I made reservations weeks out via OpenTable but as the day approached my invitee list grew. For parties over 4 persons you have to call for reservations which was fine as the hostess was very helpful. On the day of my birthday we had reservations for six people at 7pm. My mom and I arrived at 6:58pm but my group was running tardy. Like really tardy. 30+ minutes. Anyways, instead of changing the reservation the hostess was very welcoming and understanding and sat my mom and I in a booth in their larger party section. We joked about how we would have some drinks and apps while we wait. Waters were poured immediately but our server never came. I went to the bathroom downstairs, looked around the restaurant a little, chatted with my mom but still no server. At 28 minutes I got up and asked someone passing by if it would be possible to put some drink/app orders in and shortly after the request was our first introduction to our server. My full party arrived by 7:40pm. Again, super late I know but the restaurant was not busy and they were aware of the tardiness of my guests. We each ordered a drink as well as calamari and bruschetta for the table . 3/5 drinks had to be sent back because they tasted horrible. Simple drinks like a margarita, a paloma something called The Vault which was vodka based but all were extremely strong and heavily poured which may be ideal for some but not on this occasion.. Once we got them remade they were fine. I myself had the passion fruit margarita from the spirit free list but asked them to add tequila and I enjoyed it. Food: Now I will say the food is great. I had the Pollo Limón which was two large chicken breasts with lemon sauce over spinach. I choose a baked potato as the side. Their menu is à la carte. Others had steak and mushrooms, salad with shrimp, salmon etc. Everyone enjoyed their meals. For desserts we had the apple crumble, pistachio gelato, creme brûlée and for my birthday they brought out a little eclair puff on a birthday themed board with a candle. There was a bunch of idle time spent waiting around for service, for plates to be cleared, for the dessert menu and no one was offered a second drink but the food was good and that's important. We were there well after closing. Our bill was large and they add a fee for credit card payments but luckily my group had cash to pay. Overall, was it a nice dinner? Yes. Was the food good? Yes. The hostess was amazing, as a whole the waitstaff were super nice and the ambiance is great. The speed of service and the bartender lacked to me during this visit but I am happy to see this restaurant here in Homewood, wish them success and I will return. Notes: Street parking. It is a very cozy and upscale atmosphere which I love for a steakhouse. ls like you are in the city and the outdoor looks beautiful with flowers all around. Baked crab cakes with the 2 sauces was delicious to start. We came from a funeral, so we split a filet with red wine reduction sauce....melted in your mouth. My husband made a 7pm Saturday reservation to celebrate my birthday. We chose 69 Prime based on a recommendation from our daughter and its proximity to home. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match our expectations. When we arrived, no one greeted us. Two staff members eventually came to the host stand, but instead of acknowledging us, they finished what they were doing and then asked, "Do you have a reservation?"-still without so much as a hello. We were told our table would be another 10-15 minutes and were sent to the bar. Thankfully, the bar staff was warm and welcoming, and the drinks were excellent. That ended up being the highlight. Once seated, we ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese with an 8oz filet and the Wagyu Ribeye, both medium. My dish was prepared perfectly, but my husband's steak arrived well-done. The waitress noticed immediately and sent it back. When the replacement came, it was still overcooked-closer to medium-well. The manager, Mattie, then came over and apologized. She stated clearly, "It looks like you'll be eating on us tonight." We didn't ask for that; she offered it. However, when we asked for the check, our server explained that Mattie would only be taking 10% off and offering a complimentary dessert. Mattie then returned to our table and implied that we must have "misunderstood" what she said. We were stunned. We both heard her clearly, and rather than acknowledge that she overstepped her authority or made a hasty promise, she chose to deny her own words. The issue was not the bill-we fully intended to pay for our meal. The issue was the lack of accountability and integrity. A sincere acknowledgment would have gone much further than a discount and a dessert that took far too long to arrive. First impressions matter, especially for a special occasion. While the drinks were great and my entrée was solid, the inconsistent service, lack of hospitality, and the manager's unwillingness to stand by her own statement made this a disappointing experience. We wanted to love this place and hoped it would be a local gem. Unfortunately, we walked away feeling otherwise, and we will not be returning. read more

My expectations are low for steakhouses in the burbs, but this exceeded our expectations. It is inside a hotel and in downtown Homewood. There is street parking at a nearby pay lot. Our drinks were good. We had charbroiled oysters for an appetizer, which were very tasty. My mom had the Prime salad which she enjoyed. My mom and I got steaks and they were cooked to a perfect medium. My sis got the short rib ravioli and there wasn't a drop left on her plate. The sautéed mushrooms were in desperate need of seasoning and flavor, but that's my only complaint about the food. When the food runner showed up with our entrees he placed them on the table, at the edge, not in front of us. We asked if he could clear our dirty plates, agreed and then just left.
