So I show up and walk into the restaurant and stand at the counter waiting to order. Unfortunately, I had to wait patiently while the young man at the counter continued to ignore me and view his Tik Tok videos. I was there at least 3 minutes with him looking down at his phone only and not acknowledging me. Someone in the kitchen finally got his attention, and he asked for my order. I asked for hush puppies and okra as my side. He upcharged me $1.00 without any communication as to why. I ask why, and he says that "because you asked for hushpuppies" and told me that because of the request and me getting 4 additional hush puppies, they charge more. Any aspect of up-front communication would have been better than just randomly charging me. After a ten minute wait, i get my food and head home. I get a few miles away and decide I want to taste my hush puppies. I grab one. It's hard, overly dense, and cold. Yep, that's right. I was upcharged for some nasty, overcooked, old, cold hush puppies. It took a lot to keep from driving back, but I said to myself it's only a dollar, so I'll be ok. This restaurant is not one that we visit often, but when we do, there is always some BS that goes along with the meal on top of Super Trash customer service. I heard about this restaurant from my sister in law and decided to try it. I ordered the small catfish steak dinner which came with two sides and a drink. It is excellent! The catfish was delicious! There was so much food we had to take some home in a doggy bag! I had the coleslaw and fries with my order and the coleslaw is delicious too! My husband had the large catfish steak dinner which had large pieces of fish, and he had the macaroni and cheese which he said was creamy and very tasty. He said everything was on point! Price on the board is incorrect. We ordered the 2 item combo and on the board it's say $11.99. We ordered 2 of them and she said $31.06. Get the receipt and they charge me $13.99. She was like no it was taxes and it was over price. They shorten me on shrimps and the hot sauce only had very little in it. I ask for catfish nuggets and they gave me perch. Every Sharks is a completely different experience. This ones portions are terrible. Seemed to get half an order of clams. They were very good, what there were of them. The counter person was great!!! I'm a well known customer of Sharks but lately the orak is always cold. But tonight when I went inside and placed my order. I noticed Mike was cooking everything fresh for the people sitting out in the lobby. When it was time for he to fix my order, I noticed he getting chicken wings from the bottom of a warm and re-cooking it and I told the person who took my order I wanted fresh chicken so h(Mike)told me I have to wait 30 minutes which I did! Stopped at Shark's at Markham and John Barrow for catfish which has been excellent in the past. Ordered 2 catfish filets and hush puppies. This time it seemed like one catfish filet had been sliced in half length-wise, both fried very thin and leathery, with 10 hush puppies. Hush puppies are supposed to be a side, and catfish the entree. VERY DISAPPOINTED, will not go back there again, do not like being ripped off. read more
