Sharkey's is seriously one of the best barbershops in the area. Mark is super talented -- easily one of the best barbers I've had. I've also had cuts from a few of the other guys there and they all do a pretty solid job too. One thing I really like is that they actually give you a hard part (a lot of barbers won't do that), and they know how to work around cowlicks so your cut still looks clean. Every time I get my haircut here, I end up getting compliments, which is always a nice bonus. If you're a guy with a beard who needs a fade and beard trim, definitely check these guys out. Parking can be a little tight since it's right by a residential area, but I've never had too much trouble finding a spot. Just make sure to book your appointments ahead of time -- they stay busy. They also normally show the dodger game on tv too which is an added bonus. read more

booked an appointment for a full beard trim, don't know the barbers name. I came in 20 minutes early and got right in the chair. I liked how this guy (first chair when you walk in) did my beard, $25 no problem. but thats all he did, just the beard, literally left it unblended with my actual hair. i just had a well manicured beard and puffy hair around my ears. I ask him to take care of it, he said sorry, cant. ok? I came in early and it could take 10 minutes, there wasn't even anyone waiting. the dude just stared at me like, get up.. ok whatever. i pay, he says "next time, for your appointment, add the hair cut." another $25 for the hair above my sideburns. unbelievable. tipped, went to another barber and they fixed me up. read more

Great service and my sons hair looks great. The reason for my two stars is because I went last month and they charged me $30 for my sons hair cut. This time, they charged me $40!!! That's insane. That's beyond the point. How did they change the prices so drastically. Also, I gave the barber a $50 and he gave me back a $10 bill. Almost as I felt forced to tip him the $10 instead of doing me the favor and breaking this $10. Apparently that's all the change he had. Unfortunately I will never come back here again. They might want to charge me $50 for his next cut. read more

I took my boyfriend here before and decided to come back because they gave him a great taper. Even with some length and volume the barber managed to give him a great even cut. I thought we had finally found our go to shop. Unfortunately, this time the barber gave him an uneven cut. We couldn't find the barber we went to last time on the website or IG page. First time I got my haircut here was back in June . The scheduling system was smooth. I got there early and the place was clean, and chill. However, I only give 3 stars for the haircut because it wasn't detailed and clean. People told me that my haircut look uneven. Maybe the person was rushing or not skilled yet. Came here with my hubby, the first thing I did was check in on Yelp that's when I noticed the great reviews! To my dismay this is just an average barber shop, if you need a cut go ahead and come here but just be sure that time isn't of the essence because you will be here for a while. I read the previous reviews and the owner/manager will tell you the importance of making an appointment so you don't have to wait (which is an additional $5).... GREAT...if that system worked lol My advice is just save yourself the $5 and just plan to be here for the rest of your life because the employees are to busy watching "what about bob" or whatever was on TV. Absolutely the best shop I've been to since coming back to Los Angeles. I came to Sharky's 1st when I was about 18 years old. The cuts were always extremely high quality. I left California @ age 20 when I joined the Air Force and by the time I got back at the age of 26, not only did they move to a newer building, but they are providing an even better experience! The atmosphere you walk into is that of a luxury salon, with multiple TVs greeting you along with beautiful wood cabinets behind ever seat. There is a pool table to accent the color scheme the room has along with a bar at the back on the shop. The room temperature is perfect, never too warm or chilly. If you are lucky, you might even see "Tank". A little black stubby dog that loves to play! Anyways, after coming here for about a year since getting back, I can't see myself going anywhere else. Oh! We love the fact that when asked if they did kid haircuts, they were not hesitant & quite confident in their yes. Mike gave our baby his haircut & he was amazing. Okay, so I hadn't cut my hair in two years. Before that I was a Supercuts/great clips kinda of guy because of the convenience. What changed it all was my wedding. I knew I needed something different and more spa like In terms of services. I booked online easily via their website, and chose CLAUDIA as my professional. Little did I know this would be the best 1.5 hours I would spend in a barbers chair. Let's start off with the service. I booked a mini facial, cut, style, hot towel, shave and eye brow service. I arrived and the location was easy to find and plenty of parking. Claudia greeted me, talked about what I wanted and then she went to work. She was personable, humble, and talented. I could tell just by how she handled the process and communication that she is 100% professional. The entire process was relaxing, and not gonna lie It felt very therapeutic. The mini facial wasn't a BS pore strip but an actual routine. I've never touched my eyebrows and was worried I'd look like a f&@k boy but she did exactly as I asked- clean and simple. Not to mention everything she did looked good. She gave me tips on how to style, and get volume as well as the name of the aftershave I like so much. I know it can be hard to find the perfect place, but I'm just glad I met Claudia, because I'd follow her wherever she places her chair. read more

Second stop here love this place. Saw Rico both times and both times I got just what I wanted. When I'm in the bay I see my boy Dave but down here it's a no-brainer. I like an unusual cut and Rico was the first guy down here who worked with me. Sharp fade and the top just like I like. All I asked was for a simple taper fade and nothing on the sides only a bit off of the top. Cut most of my side hair that I had growing off.
