Stopped by a few hours ago. Called to see if by chance there was walk ins, luckily, I was able to come in. Didn't get the barbers name, but from what I can see in the reviews, Jose? was the one who did my son's cut. I sorta explained how I wanted his hair, then showed him a picture, and he sure delivered. I live in Alhambra and have my go to, but I've ran out of time and because I was in the area I came here. My son was in desperate need of a cut and I love the way he did his hair. This is the worst place to come specially without an appointment. We came for my fiancé haircut, there is no signing sheet when you walk in. None of the barbers acknowledge you when you walk in. We waited almost an hour and 10 min (I understand appointment are more important then dont have a sign that says walk in). Also this barbers are more chatty than a female . Do not get a hair cut from Joshua Tovar The man can't cut hair to save his life honestly. The other guy with the beard is the best one out of the bunch. Literally told the barber josh what I wanted and gave me the complete opposite. I would post pictures of my hair but I literally just shaved it off to the skin cause he can't even line the back of your head up. How do you square off the corner side of head then fade the other corner like?? I even asked for some off the top and he leaves my hair botched to the point the hair floats off my head like BRO. This use to be my go to but that one barber just ruined my whole experience AGAIN (This isn't the first time he's messed up my hair) I only let him cut me cause he's the only guy available and I just feel bad kinda ignoring him but Na, Bro Can Not Cut Hair. Jose aka Chops is the boss and he does all the cuts great detailed perfection. Josh is so cool he can make you feel like a million bucks plus he is friendly and will spark conversation. The 1st red flag for me not to come here should have been the men walking in with 40s. The guy to the right of the cash register totally ignored me when i told him how i wanted my sons hair cut. He cut my sons hair the way he wanted it cut. Plus he had rough hands, the way he was grabbing my sons hair to cut the top... Lets just say if he did that to a man his age his ass would have been handed to him. The end result was not straight at all. Nothing close to what my son wanted. 100percent NO satisfaction. Having been raised in a cosmetology driven household and with my families growing salon businesses I consider myself well versed in hair dressing and what a good cut looks like. Having moved into the city of montebello came with new and exciting adventures. Some of those adventures include finding a good car wash service and a great place to get a hair cut. Having a loyal and trusting hair dresser is crucial to the urban socialite as your hair truly is an extension of your iconography and of who you are. Having been told of yuli's from multiple coworkers and having found countless yelps I decided to try it out. At first the location looks a bit sketchy. I was not sure if I wanted to go it but I decided to take a chance. I sat down and was immediately asked to take a seat. As I looked around it seemed very mom and pop. A bit rough around the edges but all of that changed when I sat in the barbers chair. My barbers name was tony. At first I was " wow idk if I can go through with this" but as soon as he asked me what I was looking for I proceeded to show him a picture on my iPad. Tony was confident to " try " and get similar to the look I wanted. Once he out the cape on me and proceeded to clean out my facial line he started talking to me as if though we had been friends our whole life. He was extremely genuine and very very humble and down to earth. He seemed to be around his mid 20s and his mom , yuli, who was next to him turned out to be his Jedi master. He talked to me about his training and cracked some jokes as he started cutting more and more hair. To be honest for the first time in a while I made a connection with a new barber. It was a match. At the end he proceeded to make sure I felt confident and ready to go out and take care of business. As I stood up I could not but help notice the long line of people waiting to be taken care of by tony and his mom. The ambiance and the experience was extremely satisfying! I walked out with a great experience and most of all a great tapered hair cut. I'm most definitely coming back. I suggest you try coming right at 8 am on Saturdays as I didn't have to wait but around 830 there starts to be a line. read more

Our boy is 16 months and does very well when it comes to getting his haircut, his barber Alfredo is very patient and skilled which makes our son feel comfortable. He suggested this time we have a try at letting our lil guy sit on his own in the chair and he loved it! This was only his second haircut so I was a bit nervous for him to sit on his own but he did very well! Seriously the best taper in town, and I've lived here for 26 years. They used to be on Greenwood Ave (where montebello blvd turns into greenwood) but moved to a bigger spot here on Beverly Blvd. I've tried many barber shops in the area. If you can, wait for "Junior", he takes his time and tapers come out CLEAN & FRESH! You know it's a good cut if they take majority of the time focusing on the fade...they don't try and just cut and get you out...they take their time... Best time is around 3:00pm - show up at 4-5pm, you'll have to wiat a little bit... $10 for a fresh taper fade, $1 for lineup or beard & mustache trim... not bad, I always tip $5-$10 just to keep the fades coming clean... Tony is hands down the best barber in Montebello! Been going to him for about 2 years now and it's hard to find someone who can fade and line up a beard as well as he does! Oh boy. Where to begin? I've been getting my haircut at Yulie's since I was a kid. They do the best and cleanest cuts! Rude, unprofessional, disorganized. Was loyal for awhile until it became difficult to tell who was next since they don't pay attention, nor care. I'm not going to argue with another customer but I know I was there before him. The last time I went, after I told the barber what I wanted he mocked me in Spanish. Like I don't know Spanish! The guy (ponytail) who cut my hair seemed be rushing to hang out with his homies, not wanting to take the time to do a good job (which he didn't) and possibly get a new customer.
