I'm new to the area, and let's be honest--you don't just pull up to any random laundromat. So I did what most people do and checked Yelp to see what everyone was saying. The great reviews led me to The Laundry Place in Compton. I parked in the back lot. It's small, but I had no problem finding a space. Before unloading all my laundry, I went inside to check the place out. They have some construction going on, but it doesn't interfere with getting your laundry done. The facility was surprisingly clean and well maintained, and all of the machines looked like they were in excellent condition. I was especially impressed with the huge 80-pound commercial washer--it was only $9.75, which I thought was a great price. One thing I really appreciated was that I didn't have to deal with people hanging around outside. There wasn't central A/C, but they had a large industrial portable unit that kept the place comfortable enough that I barely noticed. There were plenty of chairs and tables, although I wish there were a few more folding tables. I made it work and folded my clothes on one of the available tables. The woman working there was friendly, helpful, and answered all of my questions. While I was folding, a gentleman came in, introduced himself as Eric, the owner, and asked how my experience had been. I told him it was actually the Yelp reviews that brought me in! I also really liked their card system. First-time customers receive a credit toward their wash, and you earn an extra $3 for every $25 you load onto your card. That's definitely a nice bonus. Best of all, my clothes came out super clean--no mystery stains! The dryers handled large loads really well. My only suggestion would be for the dryers to run a little longer than five minutes per cycle, but adding more time is easy. Just tap your card, and each additional 25¢ gives you four more minutes. Hopefully, I won't be without my washer and dryer for too long, but I would absolutely recommend The Laundry Place to anyone looking for a clean, well-maintained laundromat with friendly service. The sanitizing machines and consistently clean environment make it stand out. I've watched them wipe down machines as soon as a customer finishes. I have a washer and dryer at home but still come here for comforters and personal items. We have pets, so I prefer a place where I know the machines are thoroughly cleaned. There is a dedicated attendant team cleaning, checking on patrons and at the service desk. All staff I interacted with on drop off were friendly, patient and helpful. The clothes are clean, soft, nicely-scented and are well-folded. The context: I am so grateful for the service provided by this team. I have never used fluff and fold services, and I struggle with social anxiety. So trying a new service at a new venue was already nerve wracking for me. On top of that, I have lost my aunt to cancer and granny to stroke within the last six months. This weekend we had to care for my uncle in the Bay Area who had a cerebral hemorrhage and they gave him 4 weeks left to live. Needless to say, I was in dire need of help and Laundry Guys came through. The female attendant at 10pm on 6/23/2026 was so kind and warm. She patiently explained all my options, the process and costs. I felt confident leaving this task in her hands. And the price was very fair for the volume! When I got home and unpacked the clean clothes, I felt a weight lift off. The clothes were given a second life, and softer and well-scented more than I could have imagined! As a dog owner, I chalked it up to having a busy pet life. But apparently, I should leave it to the experts! The clothes were folded as I would have, so I was able to quickly slip my clothes into the drawers. I appreciate the pre-hung clothes as well. This service quality is deserving of the price. I will gladly use their services again. I will make sure to update this review as I have more experience with this vendor.
