I've been to this dealership a few times while looking for a new vehicle. The entire staff is extremely friendly, professional, and very attentive to their customers' needs. Make sure to ask for Rigo (Rodrigo) when you stop by to look for a new car. I can't say much about Sharpe BMW because I was only there for a red white and blue old glory relay race and Sharpe b m w sponsored this epic run. But just the fact that they were willing to sponsor a run that had to do with veteran health and well being puts them in my good book. I've never really been a BMW girl myself, I'm more of an NSX girl but if BMW is your bag, then it seems like this would be a really good place to find one. I can say that I was looking for a really good cup of coffee and one of the employees, or associates, on site helped me to operate the coffee machine. It ended up being a triple shot latte, which was nice, and they did not skimp on crappy beans, so it actually tasted quite delicious. Other than that I don't have much to say about BMW dealerships, cars, or this place, in particular, so I wish I could help you more, but that's that. read more

Very disappointed in what I thought was a reputable BMW dealership. I worked with Ryan regarding a BMW 3 series that they had recently taken in. Ryan told me they had appointments to look at this particular car later in week so I understood the urgency to get info. on the car.So I just wanted info. from their presale evaluation. I asked at least couple times for info. tires/brakes etc. never got the information consequently I was told the car sold. Although, I see it on their web site at an increased price. Couldn't have had a better customer experience. I took my wife's X5 in for service and while waiting started looking at cars, ended up buying a 5 series to replace my car. The sales experience was perfect, Sander worked with me a lot of the phone, text, and email so I didn't have to sit in the dealership for hours. They offered a fair price for my non bmw trade in (on the low side but definitely not a low ball). Walked into the dealer, signed some papers, and they had my car detailed sitting in the show room for me. The part that really stood out was after the sale. I noticed a vibration around 75 mph, called the service department and they picked my car up the next day to address the issue. Ended up having the vehicle for almost two weeks but they addressed the issue correctly, Ben kept in constant communication, and when they were finished they dropped my car back at my house. New cars shouldn't have issues but the reality is sometimes they do, Sharpe's response and quick action is exactly how customer service should be. Thank you to the entire team! read more

The dealership broke my rim while changing out the tires. Had to haggle with the service technician (Jordan R) for several days before they would agree to repair my car. It was a total of 3 weeks before my car was returned to me. As a way to punish me for holding my ground and not paying for something they obviously damaged, I am not allowed to use a loaner vehicle from them again. I tried expressing my grievances to the service director, Ben Dekruyter. He told me he was going on vacation and would get back to me when he could. I have yet to hear back from him. Attached is the photo sent to me from the service technician trying to convince me the damage was done prior to the dealership picking up my car, driving it from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids. What do you think? I think I will not trust this dealership. They take advantage of women, pushing unnecessary services for profit. In the end, they don't care about you or what it takes to retain good, paying customers. Is there anyone out there that still puts value on good customer service with integrity? read more

I had a friend to visit in GR so I made an appointment at Sharpe BMW for my 2005 Mini Cooper S - to check the air cond. & oil change. They got the air working. I expected the oil monitor to be reset. It was not. Suspecting the oil had not been changed, I asked & found out that the oil was changed but the mechanic had neglected to reset the monitor. I was informed the muffler needed replacement (quoted $1600 to $1800). Having my own mechanics, I wanted to see how difficult the repair & parts were before committing to that. On the way down, not being familiar with the passenger seat (I usually drive), & wanting to recline, I somehow clicked the releases in a way that made my seat permanently recline. I forgot to mention it when I dropped the car off, & now the staff said that it was too late for the mechanics to look at it. They did let me know a seat would cost $800 for the back or if it needed the whole seat - $1500-$1800?! We had only paid $1,500 for the car. On the way home, I noticed the car lacked power, also a light appeared on the dash saying the gas cap was not tight. The cap seemed tight - but the light did not go away. I ordered a new gas cap. When I installed it, even though it was supposed to fit, it didn't allow the cap cover to close. I had to order another one. The gas cap light still came right back on for both gas caps. Up on a lift (to inspect the muffler) I noticed a hose unplugged. I could see where it plugged back in - after doing that the power was restored & the gas cap light went out! In the mechanics manual, I found out this hose went to half of the turbo. That was $45 in gas caps (I had to buy two), not to mention the irritation of disposing of the apparently "fine" original cap. I found a muffler for $300 & the repair was not much of an issue for my own mechanics. Not sure why that repair was nearly $2,000 for Sharpe to accomplish - other than it seems to be their "number." I discovered Sharp had broken my dipstick off. Mini Cooper dipsticks are plastic & bend & it is understandable that it could break - but it would have been nice to have been told that they broke it. $$ I was unhappy to discover the seat not coming up is a common, known, easily fixed issue. There are online videos (one put out by BMW) not to mention forums that explain how this simple fix works. I had to return to GR for an event & it was a chance to address a recall notice, also we had noticed an oil cooler leak that looked like a job for the dealer. The Sharp mechanic found that the control arm bushings needed replacement. That meant we needed an alignment which would take an extra day. This ended up being a 3 day affair. When I got a call that the car was READY. I was located about 30 min away - but I told them I would be right there. When I got there, after waiting 10 minutes (remember, they called to tell me it was "ready") I was told, "it needed to be washed." If it was "ready" why wasn't the car washed & sitting there? It took nearly another HOUR before my car was brought out - very ODD! Finally, when the car was brought out, it was dripping wet! I grabbed a cloth to wipe the windows off so that I wouldn't get water spots. It didn't occur to me to examine the car closely, but I now know that this was someone's way of trying to hide the damage that I found when I got home. Focusing on getting water spots off my windows I missed the damage. When I left the dealer I went to an empty driveway & loaded up my things from my friend's house - then drove to northern Michigan. In the morning, I discovered the car had been hit (I have a remote driveway & no one else uses it - it did not get hit here). The damage was not easy to see, as evidenced by the photos, but it went into the underbody & was expensive to fix. An attorney advised me that dealers could be impossible to pin down over proving damages like this. Since I had left before discovering the damage, he said there was no way to prove them responsible. My only recourse was to report it as a hit & run. A 2005 Mini Cooper means finding parts is a hassle & it took my trusted restoration shop nearly 2 weeks of getting wrong parts from suppliers who had mislabeled them, returning them, etc. to get it right. The damage is worse than the photos reveal, the undercarriage of the bumper had to be replaced & in order to get the paint to match-the hood had to be repainted. The repairs cost $3,000 & I had a $500 deductible on my insurance - again $$ Worse, my insurance company took exception to the fact I was in MI (but am a resident of CA) which resulting in having to switch insurance companies - just after a claim - which effectively doubled my insurance costs. More $$ Something is very wrong here. I recommend everyone be very careful. Video your car upon dropping it off & picking it up. I don't leave bad reviews lightly, but there is a price to be paid for the lack of supervision that would allow your staff to get away with stunts like this. read more

There was a miscommunication about our 2022 Mini Countryman pick up for services. So we rescheduled for today April 26, 2024 at 1030am. So about 15 minutes after they WERE supposed to show up I decided to call. Guess what even though this appointment was scheduled from the previous week, I wasn't on the schedule until this morning. But they still didn't bother to call, email, or text that. I received an text and email confirmation the day prior, so I don't understand why once again the service department screwed up. My wife and I have had nothing but issues with the service department there. I will definitely not purchase another vehicle from them and recommend anyone that asks me about them to stay away. These are crazy times and I understand that but this dealer did the typical "bait and switch" when I tried to buy. The dealership posted an advertised price which was a great deal but car was a demonstrator and the discount was CLEARLY marked. When I told the dealership I actually wanted to buy the car, they simply decided they could get more money from another customer and refused to honor the advertised price. Price is SET; until it goes on sale on Black Friday?! Then the signs went up on cars saying "We Pay Your Sales Tax"?! Actually, neither is true; you can haggle and they DON'T pay your sales tax. Nice premises. Like the waiting area with coffee. Leased recently a BMW and the experience was extremely unprofessional on several levels. I was asked to sign docs prior to SHOWING me the newly delivered car. Many mistakes in the paperwork - mileage upon delivery, monthly lease. Had to be pointed out several times and prolonged the signing process as Mike Seech was "busy". Glove department damaged upon delivery as car was not inspected prior to presenting to me. As of today (3 month later) no contact has been made for replacement despite promised. Several emails to Jeremy Dutcher (Sales Manager) resulted in being ignored. Disappointed in lack of professionalism after a sale has been accomplished. read more

I recently purchased a used 5 Series (not through Sharpe). I brought it to them because who better to inspect, diagnose, and let me know exactly where the car stands, right? They are expensive, but I was willing to pay the premium for their presumed expertise. I came in and paid for an oil change, as well as two $80 diagnostic fees, one for the iDrive and one for low boost. I have no idea what I got for that $160, but they failed to properly diagnose either problem. My iDrive controller is not responding. They tell me I need a new one. A basic diagnostic scan shows that the controller is sending all commands properly, but the head unit is faulty. I had a low boost condition code. They write me for two new turbos, when a simple smoke test shows a vacuum leak (about $5 and 5 minutes to fix). Apparently there was a "courtesy inspection" as part of the oil change. I'm not sure what this entailed. They missed a transmission line that was leaking and completely came off of the fitting THE NEXT DAY. Other things missed by their inspection include a torn air filter and warped and grooved brake rotors. On a positive note, they seem to have actually changed the oil, and the waiting room is very nice. read more

2/19 UPDATE: I have spoken with the sales manager, Paul Flood who assured me that the appropriate personnel have been coached in the areas mentioned below. Paul was very pleasant to speak with and work with and strongly feels that my experience should not be a reflection of the standard they strive for. I truly believe that Paul has done everything in his power to help bring this issue to resolution and to work with me on this unfortunate experience. I was advised that if I remove my review/s, that I would receive compensation for the poor service that I'd received over the last couple days. Unfortunately, I cannot remove my reviews and I think it's important that my voice is heard, but I will increase the star rating by one star. I am not looking for financial compensation, but I want to raise awareness about my service and make sure that future customers are aware that if the service department fails to do their job in full, the customer is expected to make multiple trips (or pay for their vehicle to make multiple trips) to the dealership at their own expense, even when the dealership is at fault. Original post: I am amazed by the poor customer service at this location! They are operating far below the Land Rover standard, and I will never let them touch my Rover again. Here is the timeline of events that took place: My vehicle suspension was damaged in cross-country transport, and towed to them on Tuesday afternoon/evening. Wednesday, Dave from Service calls me to tell me a suspension bag is leaking. He later calls to tell me it's been replaced and my vehicle is ready for pickup. Wednesday night, I make the drive from St Joe MI to Grand Rapids to pick up my vehicle. Thursday morning, I get in my car at 8:00 am, and the suspension fault warning is still present. I contact them and ask them to come get my vehicle because they did not fix the problem. Dave argued with me over the span of several phone calls that his job was to replace a part, and he did that, so it's not his responsibility. I assure him that my vehicle was sent there to be fixed for suspension fault, and while he may have replaced a part, he did NOT fix the issue! He later called me and apologized for his poor behavior and sends someone to pick up my vehicle. Friday, today, they bring my rover back missing half a tank of gas. That's not okay to me. The reason the vehicle had to go back to them is because they failed to do their jobs. They've already inconvenienced me, wasted time arguing with me, and now that the rover went back to them, they still drained my tank and didn't re-fuel it. The trip back to Grand Rapids would have never had to happen had they done their jobs in the first place! If you do not fix the vehicle entirely and it needs to come back, it should be at the dealership expense, not customer. read more

I've just gotten to the end of my lease with my second consecutive BMW Convertible. Since getting my last car I've had a baby and needed something bigger. I began looking at different Brands of vehicles outside the BMW family and have chosen to try another Brand. I was a bit nervous as to what the experience would be when I turned my vehicle back in since I wouldn't be buying another BMW. I figured I'd probably get hit with extra fees or bad attitude since I was leaving... Boy was I wrong! I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon (the day after Christmas), unannounced, hoping to get my end of lease inspection so I could drop off my car on Monday. Emily Fortier did an excellent job of accommodating my poor planning and shared an option with me to get something fixed in a way that saved me a few hundred dollars. Wow! I can guarantee you I'll be back to Sharpe and will enthusiastically recommend them to anyone looking for any Brand they carry. Now I feel foolish now for having these concerns and I shouldn't have been surprised since the level of service I've received since doing business with Sharpe has been nothing but top notch. Jason from the service department was fabulous! I have a 2006 325i BMW with 204,000 miles on it, so naturally the car needed some work done. Jason worked with me on pricing and met all of my needs. I did my homework and called a few mechanics and German garages in town and their pricing matched up to what Sharpe BMW was quoting. The repair job was done in less than a day too! They offered me complimentary rides while I didn't have my car. NOTE: I saw a review in here about dealerships discriminating based on age... We stopped in here on a Saturday at 4:45pm ready to test drive. We were told they were closing at 5:00pm and could take a care at that time. We were very surprised by the lack of customer service considering the doors were still open and there were employees just hanging out. We realize people are ready to close up and head out but we could have easily been out in 15-20 minutes. We waited for a good 5-7 minutes before we were greeted so could have easily been in and out. We will definitely return to test drive as they are the closest dealer and seriously considering a particular vehicle they carry. I can not say enough good things about my experience at Sharpe BMW! I went in with the intention of test driving a couple of pre-owned vehicles and learning the lay of the financing land. I have not purchased a car in many years as I have recently moved from New York City, where a car is more of a nuisance than a luxury. I did my online research with regard to Sharpe's offerings. Their online inventory list had many interesting option at all different price points. I figured that as inventory goes, the website may not be 100% accurate, so I didn't get my heart set on any on car or model. Much to my surprise the website inventory was very accurate. They did have every car I was interested in on the premise. Upon my arrival Nick S. greeted me, listened to what I was interested in and the first car we discussed happened to be my number one pick from the inventory. One test drive and pleasant conversation later, I was in the process of purchasing a 2013 x535i, and for a really great price. They have a 'no haggle' policy, which I find very classy and respectful, and they are more than happy to show you what the same vehicle is being sold for at other dealerships in a 500 mile radius. Mine was the least expensive - and it is near flawless! There was also no pressure to 'up sell'. I had numbers in mind that would suit me and they did not surpass those or try to exceed them. Nick G., patiently took me through all of the paperwork - explaining items multiple times, if necessary. Eric, the in house BMW genius, gave me a thorough lesson on all of the buttons and features (and didn't laugh at any of my stupid questions, I'm sure there were a couple!). Took car in bec as use outside mirror was pointing down. After a $160.00 "diagnosis", they said it needed a new mirror motor. By the way, they never even touched the mirror, only the button to confirm it wasn't working. When I got home, Internet said to clean the contacts between the motor and mirror back. 10 minute fix. My experience with Sharpe BMW is always excellent. Many thanks to these people who have addressed all my Services - Tailor and Jason. Thanks to both for exceptional service; they took care of it exceptionally well. Both Jason and Tailor are courteous and honest persons. They have done an exceedingly good job on Brake pads and rotors installation. When I asked for wheel alignment, they came back and said it was unnecessary now. Slight vibration is due to tire threads having chipped off. They are sincere and upfront about repairs, what is needed, and what is not. On the sales side, Anthony Soule is the best sales advisor I have come across and is very friendly and polite in handling the customers. In 4 years, I have noticed in this location that every staff is good. Even the warranty department was frank and did tell me how much it costs. I'm came from NYC in my X6. Got a warning that the brake light was malfunctioning. Tried calling to make an appointment to service the car. All I got was an answering machine over and over. Decided to take in the car regardless. When I got there, I parked the car next to the man sitting at the service station. I didn't get a welcoming of any kind. I had to Basically scoop a word out of the guy. Fortunately, the brake light fixed itself. The guy just said: must be be a false warning. Feeling unwanted, I said thanks to the guy and left. A BMW in NYC is as common as snow on the north pole , so I can expect carelessness in NYC, not in Michigan. read more

I bought my CPO BMW 135i from Sharpe in 2012. I was just going through old financial documents and was reminded of how bad my experience was there a few years ago. First, BMW dealers seem to discriminate against young people who look at their cars, and this place was no different. I even made it a point to dress nicely so they didn't treat me like a kid looking for a joyride. It's funny how quickly the salesperson's demeanor changes when they found out your occupation easily allows you to afford a BMW. In any case, Sharpe took an unreasonable amount of time processing the deal. I'm talking 3+ hours. They even told me to pick out anything from the gift shop because they were dropping the ball so badly. I wasn't impressed with Dan, my salesperson, and certainly not their finance man either. read more

I don't understand these negative reviews on service. In my experience Jason is an awesome Advisor. From picking up and dropping off my car in Battle Creek (75 miles away) to always clearly and proactively communicating what's up with our X6, we couldn't ask for better. When our lease is up we will get another BMW and we will make the drive to Sharpe because of the awesome service Jason provides us (& the cars are pretty awesome too). This place was exceedingly helpful. We had a board go out in our 2000 Z3 about 90 minutes away from Grand Rapids (summer house). We had the car towed there (ouch) and it was fixed in a few days as promised. Since we live in Chicago, we had to make arrangements to get to Grand Rapids to pick it up. When we called and asked if it would be a problem to leave it there for a week or more until we could get things coordinated, Jason from the service department said "let me see what I can do". He called back several hours later and said they would be able to drop the car off. We naturally asked the price and he said NO CHARGE - it was their pleasure. Seriously? Sure enough the car was dropped off in western Michigan. This saved us a huge amount of hassle (and $$). Thank you!! read more

If I could give them 0 I would. I purchased a Jag through them and nothing but trouble with car right away. Then we purchased a X3 took it to service there. They changed oil as usual always 1k miles before it expires they inspected the car as they always say they do. 5 days later car started to make noise I called them got appointment next day took it in he told me the Engine is bad needs to be replaced $12,900. In 7 days from great car to engine replacement with no explanation. Not helpful at all. Stay away from them. read more

The service center in Grand Rapids, MI is absolutely terrible. Every time I have an issue I am on the phone for at least 20 minutes. The first time I brought my car in due to the tire always losing air. They kept telling me there was nothing wrong. I had to bring it in 3 times and on the third time I told them I wasn't leaving until it was fixed. They ended up finding a nail. It should not take three times of me bringing my car in to fix a nail in the tire. Recently I brought my car in because the check engine light came on. They told me they fixed it. On my way home the light came back on. Brought it back the next day and they said they now needed to order a new part. Why didn't you find this the first time I brought it in?! To make matters worse, they told me the part whoild be in, in about 3 days. It's been two weeks and I still haven't heard anything. I'm sure I will have to call them because they are terrible at calling back. After me lease is up I think I may go elsewhere. I love my BMW, but hate the service center. read more

I went in for a scheduled warranty repair (critical airbag issue. The issue where the airbag can send shrapnel flying). I scheduled the repair with Jason well in advance. I drove 50 miles one way to Sharpe, entered the service garage and was not greeted by any of the 3 individuals working the station. I mean, not so much as eye contact. I waited until one of the individuals could be bothered to greet me. Once finally greeted by a woman, Jason rudely interrupted and told me that the parts were not available to complete the repair. I asked why he didn't call and he mentioned he tried ONCE the previous business day but couldn't leave a message because my voicemail wasn't working (I highly doubt because as this is my business line and he would be the 1st person in 6 years not allowed to leave a voicemail...). He was not apologetic and I got the feeling that he tried to blame me. I can't believe how poorly he personally treated a customer. In summary, try to avoid this place if you can. Beware! If the quality of service is indicative of the quality of the repairs, RUN! read more

Just leased a new x5 from Sharpe, and we came to a good agreement on ending the current lease on my GMC Sierra and moving to the new vehicle. Professional all around, over the next years on the lease I guess I will see how the service department handles things.
