Todd Wenzel Buick GMC of Grand Rapids - GMC Sierra AT4

Todd Wenzel Buick GMC of Grand Rapids

Let's be honest - we all love/hate buying cars. You want a sweet ride, but can't help but feel how…read morefake the salesmen are, or wonder if you're getting scammed out of an extra thousand bucks. Todd Wenzel was surprisingly painless on the negotiation end. Granted, I purchased my car from them 4 years ago, so some things may have changed. I am originally from the Detroit area, but wanted a Vibe. The 2009 model year was coming in and I, hating the redesign, wanted a 2008. I found one online across the state. I spoke with Jeremiah Jones, who was e-Commerce director at the time (it appears he's not on staff anymore). He said if I could hitch a ride to anywhere around Grand Rapids, he could get me into the car I wanted. We negotiated on the phone and settled for several thousand less than sticker (I'm sure the reason was: there were only 2 on the lot and they wanted to get rid of them for the new models). Still I was happy. My only issue, which was my hesitance of doing this all over the phone, was I got slammed by the rate on my loan. I told Jeremiah I could get one from a local credit union, but he assured me a rate of 3.9% (might have been 4.9%, my memory is hazy). I trecked across the state on a one-way trip, and they must have known they had me, for when I sat down with the financial guy, I was slammed with a 7.9% rate. Perfect credit. Jeremiah was nowhere to be found. I was stuck. It was a bummer, but I still felt like I was getting a good enough deal on the car that I'd swallow the rate (but, really, what choice did I have?) So if I lived in the area, and wanted a Chevy or Buick, I might go back. I'm only giving them 3 stars, but the other dealerships I met with would be much worse - so take what you can get! Just don't find yourself making a one-way trip to get a car from them before everything is in writing in advance.

Went there yesterday to get an oil change and tire rotation in my 2025 GMC Serria that we leased…read morefrom them. On Friday I received a card in the mail from them with pricing of $89.95 for a six qt full synthetic oil change, which is what my 2.7L turbo max engine takes. There was a scratch off area for an extra discount for $17.00. When I showed this to the gal that was giving me my estimate, she ignored it and printed out an estimate of $158, minus $30 for the card I brought in. I was shocked to say the least. When I questioned why the cost difference, she tried to tell me that my truck takes 8 qts of oI'll. Nope. I then showed her the card and stated how can you send this out to a person and not honor it? If you take $89.95 minus the additional $17 from the scratch off promo, you get 90-17=73 before taxes and other fees or materials. So her $158-$30= $128, minus $73(card offer) you get a difference of $55. No way that tax and fees/ materials would cost that much. I got up and said I will be going elsewhere as this is nothing more that false advertising. will never go here for service or purchase/lease again.
