More gun shots and violence from events at the Shatto. This event hall is bad news for our neighborhood. I have spoken with many neighbors who are over this place. I had a bad experience with the owner of the chateau banquet Hall. Owner Jenny is a shyster she charged me $3,800 to rent both sides, plus 275 for the tablecloths, she was money hungry Plus she charged me to open the door the day of my son's funeral $35, she took advantage of me, she took advantage of my dead son Joshua Brown which most of social media know him as Josh Bz. She's belligerent, obnoxious and has a potty mouth. She was very unprofessional. The scheme is this, she has two sides to the venue. When I called her on the phone she gave me a price of $2,500. However, when my niece arrived to the venue and gave her a $500 deposit, so the next day I went down there to see and that's where the games begin if you want both sides you have to pay $3,800, she said 4000 so in actuality, she gave me a discount LOL. I spoke to several people that had weddings, and we pass for the loved ones and they only pay $2,000, lady took advantage of my broken heart and my vulnerability. I am going to report her I'm going to get my money back and I suggest anyone do not do business with this shyster she has no compassion for no One, she is truly money hungry. read more

Did my event here last year May and it was awesome. Been to several weddings and birthdays here as well. Beautiful venue, love the chandeliers, light dimmers and the mirrors, make it even more beautiful. Management is really straight up and makes you know everything you need to know. That I love. Took too long to write this review, but I am back booking my event again for this May 2018. Oh, love they have their own parking across the street. My clients co worker referred her to this establishment. Our first visit wasn't to pleasant, there were 4 different parties waiting to be seen, appointments were double booked. I spoke with the owner/property manager days before the event to see if I could visit the hall to go over the setup and was told that the staff came down to do the setup already based off the amount for the event. On the day of the event, there were chairs and tables everywhere. My staff and I had to take tables and chairs out into there storage area, which was a covered patio just outside of the mens room. As we were pulling other tables needed for the event, we noticed mouse feces along the edges of the tables. I mentioned the issue to the owner and she stated that she couldn't control what goes on outside of the hall, although it was attached to the building. So my staff had to get gloves so that we could complete the setup. There was a heart shaped table at the front door, that we used for the reception table, to find alot more mouse feces. The owner came and did a poor sweeping job to remove the feces from the area. I then questioned if there was a infestation issue and she stated that the exterminator put something out and they were gone. I told the owner who ever did the cleaning did a poor job and stated that they do there best. Also as were decorating she had scheduled appointments, during our decorating time and they were sitting at the tables we needed to decorate and never mentioned that a group of 10 kids were coming to do a quick rehearsal for a quinceanera which lasted over 45min, just a total Inconvenience. As I'm decorating the owner decides to tell me she needed to leave the keys to the building for me to lock up and leave in the mailbox, which seemed to be alot of responsibility, but I went along with the plan, now once we were done with the decor. I went to the ladies room, to find more feces on the floor and again I had to have the owner come and clean up this nasty mess. There were no paper towels in the bathrooms, no trash cans anywhere in the building, but the dumpster out back, no trash bags, so we had to go to the store to purchase those, because they didn't have any. The bar area smelled horrible, so we had to buy airfreshener to mask the odor. The room started heating up, I had to call the owner to come back and turn on the air. By the middle of the day everything was just beautiful as far as the event. The event ended at 6pm, so we started cleaning up while guest were finishing up looking at gifts. By 7pm we were taking out the trash finishing up and most of the guest were already gone thank God!!!. My staff member and I took out the last bag of trash before locking up, as we were headed back to enter the kitchen door, there was a huge rat in the middle of the kitchen floor. Omg!! I lost my mind, ran through the side door where the storage area was trying to make it to the front door to get the hell out of there and my other staff member told me she seen a small mouse by the bar area going into the kitchen. By then we made it to the front door to notice we did not turn off the lights in the kitchen. As were looking at the kitchen my staff member yells Omg!! There was another rat jumping on the counter where we originally had pans of food, "By then I was done". My staff members husband came in and turned off the other lights for me, but after seeing the size of that 2nd rat he would not go into the kitchen. I locked there door and dropped the key into the mailbox and called the owner 3 or 4 times she never answered. I then informed my client of the findings and she stated that she also saw dropping in the bar area, she tried calling the owner and again there was no answer. My client tried calling the next day, left a message and she never received a call back. The health department needs to go out to this establishment as soon as possible before someone gets sick. The Shatto should be ashamed, taking people's money, knowing how nasty there place of business is......... If you are reading this, Just know I'm not bitter person. The Shatto didn't make me mad in the past in anyway. The owner is a really nice lady!! But her business ethic needs work. If they want to stay in business, this issue needs to be corrected asap!! But as for my staff, future clients and I will not be conducting business here anymore. read more

Oh my gosh! I am so disturbed with the lady I just spoke to on the phone. I called inquiring about a hall for a family reunion In June. She refused to give me any information over the phone which is a RED FLAG... and bad for business. Then she rushes me off the phone and tells me I have to come down to the hall- she's doesn't give numbers over the phone. ARE YOU KIDDING RIGHT NOW? How are people renting or even doing business with this lady?! Ugh... no thank you. I will not be giving any of my money to someone who can't talk to their customers and is flat out Rude! The woman who answers the phone and manages the reservations sounds too busy to take your call, won't return a message, will often hang up in the middle of a conversation, and is completely put out by even having to talk about holding an event in the space. I rented this place for March 31, 2018 for my 10 year Breast Cancer Survivor Party. When I came to view the place, I met with a woman by the name of (Jenny) the owner. I asked her if I could have the entire bottom floor and if so can I have my own vendors come in to decorate- She replied yes. I then asked if some of the props that are in the room can be removed for my event-(i.e...a colorful tree in the corner, also a woman sculpture in the corner)- she replied yes. I booked this place in January 2018. On the morning of my event I received a call from my decorator as well as my fiancée stating that the lady (Jenny) will not let her remove anything, and we would have to decorate around her light up tree and fixture. I proceeded to contact Jenny to find out what's going on' and almost immediately she began to use foul language' stating "you want to cancel your event". She became belligerent with my decorator- it was a s if she wanted us to get upset and cancel. This is the morning of my event- and this woman knows I cant cancel due to I would loose out on the $2000 she charged me (no refund or cancellations) as well as my other vendors. This woman began to lie, stating she's not the owner, they will get mad if I remove the fixtures. She then proceeded to tell me she will charge me an extra $300.00 if I want them down. ON my initial visit I asked if those specific things can come down being they don't go with my theme- she acted as if she didn't remember-continued screaming "NO NO NO" using foul language- I was so disgusted by the way she treated myself, my fiancé's and my decorator. She nice in the beginning-to get you in the contract-once she has your money she's a total different person. By the grace of God my event was a success-I am thankful for the patience of my decorator and fiancé's whos main goal was to get it done in spite of. However, I would never use her services again, and have learned to never get in a contract with no refunds/cancellations. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE.. I guarantee you will regret it. The hall is very beautiful, I did notice 2 roaches so by all means to me it isn't such a clean location and also everyone that books the venue has to be sure that everything is written on the contract and be on top of the contract and DON'T take anything verbally. There were a few encounters/ very bad communication with the owner so everyone just be very careful. Plan wisely if anyone is thinking of booking this venue. read more

Very Rude lady who answers the phone! Called on superbowl night to get information on hall and the lady told me that their busy watching the game and to call another time. After I called another time giving her the benefit of doubt she said that she would not give me any information unless I saw the hall first. I recently held my mother's 60th birthday at the Shatto it was amazing. Hall was very clean and large. Restrooms very large outside patio area was nice and Ms Jeanie was a pleasure to work with. I would for sure use hall again. read more

Jenny Customer Service was HORRIBLE. I called regarding the price for the space, she stated "i was driving, and to text her" then hung up in my face. I ended up texting her, and rearranged a time to meet since she claimed she wanted to show the space. The next day i arrived at the location she wasn't even there, nor the so called manager Jose. I tried to get Jose number and she refuse to give me his number along with stating other excuses. I would NOT recommend anyone to do business with her. For 4 hours she wanted to charge $895 and then asked am i able to pay that. The money isn't and wasn't the issue. Hopefully this helps, and hopefully she gets better with Customer Service Skills. Along with not doing business through text but over the phone. That also seemed very strange to me. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. I called to get information about a repast and the lady that answered was rude. She didn't give me a business greeting but instead was yelling hello, hello to someone in the background as if she was on another line. She then abruptly told me, let me call you back but before I could give her my number she hung up on me. I then received a call back from guess who? The rude lady, I guess she got my number from caller id and when I asked who I was speaking to she said you just called me and when I asked if it was Shatto Banquet hall she said yes and when I mentioned I expected to have a business greeting she said let me call you back and hung up on me AGAIN....oh well she would never get my money nor anyone I know. I had an event at the Shatto venue, and I had the best time. The venue was luxurious and beautiful, and it was way more than I expected. Management and staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. I will be recommending this venue to everyone for any occasion. I feel so happy I found this place. read more
