On a couple of different occasions, my family and I were treated to awesome live music by this band, Mixed Generations and food. Last summer, my nephews and I enjoyed music, hot dogs, chips, churros, and sodas. This most recent occasion, the hubby and I had chips, guac, beef and chicken tacos. All made with love as everything was tasty. From the bar I chose to get a ginger ale. The facility is capable of holding small to large events depending on which room of the lodge. The lodge is clean. The stage and lounge area is decorated in Hawaiian decor. Lastly, the Elks members are kind. Just lovely people. 4 stars.

At no point was I told I would need additional staff hours, more chairs, or any extra fees. Despite this, three days before my event, I was suddenly given a new balance. Then one day before the event, I was told I needed to provide liability insurance -- information that should have been disclosed at least 30 days in advance, not the day before. This resulted in unnecessary stress and constant back-and-forth between the owner and billing. Other issues included: * A substituted chef * Food that did not match the tasting * Dessert table that ignored the approved pink and gold theme * Incorrect lighting, missing slideshow, and missing napkins * Guests being asked to assist with tasks that should have been completed beforehand * Venue conditions that were not as represented After the event, I was also asked to leave a positive review in exchange for compensation, which I found highly unprofessional. I have text messages and documentation that confirm my experience and the timeline of these issues. While the venue itself is beautiful, the communication, execution, and business practices were chaotic and unacceptable.
