Stitch Head: Creature & Stitch Head
    Kimberly L.

Review #921 2025-098 I'm not usually in this area, but my friend received 2 extra tickets to see "Stitch Head" at the Cinemark Baldwin Hills. Waze was pretty accurate leading us to the theater & grabbing a parking spot close to the entrance. I'm not familiar with this brand because it's not close home (at least I didn't know until I looked them up). They're based in Plano, TX with a few operating near in S. CA like Carson, Long Beach, Downey, etc. My son & I ate linner prior to joining Lily W. & her husband so we skipped the movie snacks, though my son brought some of his Halloween candy as his post meal dessert. The concession stand is quite large, & was without lines for a Saturday evening even though there were plenty of good movie screenings. Check-in was easy since my friend arrived first & passed me our tickets to be scanned for entry. We were in the smaller theater in the back & almost had the whole place to ourselves with the exception of a family & a couple. We got center seats on the 1st row of the stadium seating so no view obstructions & I can rest/stretch my legs on the railing. The seats were a little lumpy, probably because there's a lot of movie goers. The sound system was crisp, though a tad too loud. The theater itself was clean. Stitch Head is an animated monster fantasy comedy with some cutesy songs; it's based from a graphic novel of the same name that's written by Guy Bass. It follows a mad scientist's 1st creation that guides & cares for his master's monsters, who is obsessed with creating new ones & ignoring them once they're alive. He later leaves for the circus, lured by potential fame. Stitch Head believes he's loved at the circus, but his friends, Creature, Arabella, & others, show him otherwise, & eventually make peace with who they (monsters) are & the Grubber Nubbin townsfolk, & accepted into the village as one of their own. Cinemark Baldwin Hills is not my preferred theater by location or brand, but it served its purpose... showing a fun family movie with great sound technology in a theater that we almost had all to ourselves.

Went here today to see truth & treason. Even though I saw first 30 mins of movie I had to leave because freelance client hit me up. Definitely will see the rest of it at home. There was only 1 person in theatre with me. I highly recommend this location if you want to go to movies with not so many people in theatre in morning.

Overall the experience is okay. Best part of this theater is the large and free parking lot. The seats are worn with some of the upholstery peeeling off in areas. Standard concession area. This location doesn't have a restaurant/bar, so you don't get any of the nicer food and drink options. Staff here is friendly and helpful. This is the closest location to my house, so I'll keep coming here for standard viewings. However, I'll have to go elsewhere for an upgraded experience.

Is it luxury?! Absolutely not lol however it served its purpose. Upgrades are definitely needed but I had no problem coming here. No lines, good service and plenty of seat options. Shout out to Heidi who was very nice and professional when ordering our snacks! This isn't our go to date night theatre but it is close to home.

What I enjoyed the most about my visit to this theater is the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff. As packed as it was for the first night of Sonic 3, the staff were very impressive. Tazra served popcorn and slurpees to my mom and I and she was very patient and attentive as well. She took the time to make sure I was able to carry our items to our seats. Isaac, one of the security officers answered our questions concerning the pick up of orders at the concession stand. He didn't come off to busy and showed his concern for us. The D-Box experience was very comfortable and awesome. I love the fact that you can adjust the vibration and it didn't vibrate throughout the who entire movie. The size of the popcorn and slurpee combo was impressive as well. I'm definitely coming back. I really enjoyed myself.

Went to this theater to see Beetlejuice matinee style on a Sunday. It was only $10.25! The theater was pretty empty and the seats were comfy. Many, many snacks to choose from. I can't say how it is when it's busy, but I am old so I like to avoid crowds. I hadn't been to a theater in so long but after I left here, I was like: "I can do this again!"

Went in to speak with someone about checking in and they said someone will be out to do it at 06:30p. No one came out until around 7:00p. Finally got inside after receiving our wristbands. Ordered food at the concession stand and was told it'll be about 6 mins for everything. Grabbed some popcorn. It was free along with a soda or small bottle of essential water. Went and grabbed us some seats up top with no problem. Came back, food still wasn't ready. Went to the bar to grab us some drinks while we waited. Our food still wasn't ready. Went over to the waiting area where they give you your order, food still wasn't ready lol. We waited about 20 mins for our food. I ordered some plain nachos, veggie rolls and crispy sliders. So we missed about the first 10-15 mins of the movie. I'm not tripping I just would've appreciated a better time being quoted because the 6 mins really took about 20 mins. The bar drinks were good tho. Prices aren't bad either. A 6 oz glass of Chardonnay was $12 and a Golden Hour Sour was $16. Snacks and entree prices were reasonable also. No complaints on the prices and I enjoyed all of the food. It was also a good movie. Won't get into details but I'm glad I got the tix. We had a great night out. Look forward to doing it again.

At the beginning of our movie, we ordered our food and drinks. Certain items like the bottomless popcorn and which my friend ordered came at the beginning of the movie which was appreciated. We had used our respective phones to order our food items and our burger and fries took about 45 mins and me and my husband didn't receive our cocktail until probably ten minutes later. One person in our party didn't receive her cocktail until towards the end of the movie and by then she had to rush to finish it. Despite receiving the bottomless popcorn in the beginning, she only received one round which is a little misleading. We noticed that certain items that were paid for separately and were charged again. We were charged tip twice without even choosing the tip amounts ourselves which was unusual. If auto gratuity is included in checks, this should be disclosed when booking tickets or somewhere in the menu before you order. Another thing is that you can't even delete or cancel anything which made things even more confusing. For awhile, we questioned if our orders went through but we ultimately decided to wait it out. Glad we did or it would have turned into a bigger headache. Once our movie was finished, we brought this up with a manager and were comped mostly everything except for the burger and fries which was understandable. Overall, the movie and the chairs were really comfortable but the timing of everything else ruined the experience for us. I think in concept there are a lot of things that could have made this experience great, but the flow and timing of receiving our food and drinks was a little unusual. It was also kind of polarizing for us considering that we were able to order drinks directly from the bar without much of an issue or delay. I did also notice that there was kind of a musty smell in the hallways and in the theater. There was also an explosion of paper straw wrappers on the ground near the entrance by the seats. I am not picky by any means but I think establishments should be held to a certain standard especially if it is promoted as a luxury theater.

My son has been wanting to see Devil Wears Prada 2 and the first one is one of his favorite movies of all time. Personally, I don't like that movie but I went along with him. Tickets are $25 each and they have a $4 parking garage, but we were lucky enough to get a free after-hour meter on the street. It's a nice place and it seems like comfort is their top priority. The recliner chairs are extremely comfy and come with a blanket in case you get cold. You know how movie theaters are always chilly. Once you get settled, you can press a button that sends an employee over to take your order. It's completely optional. We got one small popcorn (light butter, $6) which was big enough for both of us. I like this idea of having the option of ordering and dining at your seat while watching a movie, but the reality is a bit different. It's kind of annoying to see the employees coming and going when someone needs a refill or places a new order during the movie. You can hear them talking and they can even block your view. It's frustrating when you are trying to focus. With that being said, I think it has more pros than cons. There are bars and bathrooms located across the several floors and the one we went to was exceptionally clean. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this theatre. I prefer something more standard like AMC or Pacific Theatres (RIP!)...

Sounds amazing... until you show up and it's already full... which was what happened. Our movie started at 6:00 PM, we arrived around 5:20 PM, and the garage was completely closed off -- they weren't letting anyone else in. Luckily, we found parking about 3 minutes away and paid around $5, which honestly wasn't too bad. We came here for the second part of our Valentine's date night and watched Wuthering Heights because hello... Margot Robbie is my favorite girl. I haven't been here in over 15 years and WOW -- I forgot how absolutely beautiful this theater is inside. The lobby is spacious, classy, and honestly feels kind of luxurious. There are pool tables, a full bar area downstairs, and spaces where you can hang out with drinks and good company before your movie. We headed straight into our theater and ordered food from our seats (also... water is complimentary, love that). We were seated in our own little pod -- super intimate with two seats, cozy setup, and yes... a blanket. It truly felt like rich people movie night. Shoutout to our server Jake, who was outstanding from start to finish. Great service, super attentive, and made the experience even better. Food-wise: The Boss Burger ($20.5) was a solid 8.5/10 -- hubby really enjoyed it. Although, there were no pickles or tomatoes in there even though it was in their menu. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap ($17), and I'll be honest... it was the only downside of the night. It was a bit cold and tough, and the tortilla-to-filling ratio was a little off for me. I'd give it a 6/10. If the tortilla was a bit warmer I'd think it'll be able to hold onto the filling a bit better, but that was meh, for me. BUT the fries? Piping hot, crispy, and delicious. And Jake even brought us ranch, BBQ sauce, and extra ketchup without us having to ask twice. Overall, this was my husband's first time here, and it definitely won't be our last. We had such a great experience -- the ambience, service, and overall vibe were top-tier. Can't wait for our next cozy movie night here!

The seats were way too close together, and the person next to us had belongings spread into the shared space, making it very difficult to get in and out of our seats comfortably. Because of how uncomfortable the situation was, we decided to leave during the previews before the movie even started. We politely explained the issue to the manager and asked if we could either move to different seats -- even less expensive ones -- or receive some type of accommodation such as passes for another movie. Unfortunately, the manager refused to help in any way and would not issue a refund, exchange, or even offer courtesy tickets. For a theater that markets itself as a luxury experience and charges premium prices, I expected much better customer service. Other theaters like AMC are usually much more understanding and willing to work with customers when issues arise. Instead, we left feeling frustrated after paying for a movie we never got to watch. Sadly, this experience completely turned us off from coming back.

What made the experience worse was the manager's attitude. She was dismissive and rude when speaking to us.
