I was freaking out because this happened on Friday and appointments are usually booked out a couple weeks in general but my some miracle they were able to get me in on Monday. Front staff was wonderful, patient, and friendly. All in all a very pleasant experience considering I was getting a crown on my broken tooth. Dr. Khatchaturian, explained every step of my procedure and made sure I was comfortable and understood the why and what of what was happening with my tooth. Dr. Nejad took a much more conservative approach--he was able to save the tooth with an onlay instead of a full crown, and he also replaced my old crown with something that finally looks and feels natural. I never thought it was possible for that tooth to look right, but now it blends in perfectly. The entire process was incredibly smooth and reassuring. Dr. Nejad and his team are warm, meticulous, and truly exceptional at what they do!

We were scammed by this business. We were told if we paid upfront $10,000 total…read more$5000 for each of us (including a $500 consult fee) that our money could be used for ANY treatment at this office. We do want dental work so we agreed to pay not knowing exactly what type of cosmetic dental work we were going to sign up for on their plan. So we went ahead with the x-rays and let them take a few pictures of our teeth we were there less than an hour and gave them 10,000. However when it came down to it they would not let us use our money for any dental treatments. We were only allowed to use our $10,000 if we continue to give them another $30-$80,000 for veneers. We gave them 10,000 upfront with the reassurance that we would be allowed to have that as a credit at this office for ANY treatment or service. However, when we decided to use it for Invisalign and bonding with this offiand other cosmetic dental services we were not allowed to use it and they will not return our $10,000 and will not allow us to use the money for dental work at this office unless we want to give them another $60-$80,000 for a mouth full of veneers. We were completely lied to during our consult and feel completely scammed and conned by this office. We did not sign up for their $80,000 veneer plan we only wanted some basic cosmetic work. Upfront they said our deposit is for ANY service at this office we would like to apply towards. Clearly we will be seeking legal help with this issue However do NOT use this office it was a complete scam do not give them money upfront unless you are planning on purchasing an entire mouth full of veneers 60-70k. We feel completely scammed and conned considering during our consult we were told any money you pay down with us we will let you use for any treatment at this office and it was a complete lie. After paying the $10,000 we called to start our treatment which were told we had to do 1 to 2 years of Invisalign upfront but then he was not going to allow that to be applied to our $10,000 we've already paid. We were lied to during our consult and told go ahead and pay 5000 each which total $10,000 and you can use this money to any service cosmetic at this office so we did it and they completely lied to us they will not allow us to use the money unless we do their plan that they chose for our teeth which includes a minimum of 10 veneers each on us. Do not go here unless you want to spend an absolute fortune and possibly get nothing in return. We got absolutely nothing except a few X-rays and a few photos and they have $10,000 of our money that they will not let us use unless we want to give them a fortune for a mouth full of veneers. They told us We will not be allowed to use this money for any treatment as they told us during our consult we could use or otherwise we wouldn't pay them as we had no idea what we were going to do to our teeth. We now are only allowed to use it if we continue to give them tens of thousands of more money for a mouth full of veneers totally 60k and up for us. It was a total scam and con job. I don't know how the California board of dentistry allows offices to scam patients like this! They had an actual Indian dentist working as a hygienist which was cool to have someone so experienced working in that role. He was very fast and efficient - got my cleaning done in 20 minutes. Other places I've been to take an hour plus for cleaning which is ridiculous. I don't have time for that. The American DDS was fast, didn't try to upsell me or BS me, told me I'm fine and that was it. Truly how a dental experience should be.

When I arrived, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and smiling. I was taken back right away. The dental assistant took my X-rays and immediately started my cleaning. I normally get a deep cleaning once a year, but instead they only gave me a regular cleaning. The biggest problem happened while I was in the middle of my cleaning. I literally had dental instruments in my mouth when someone from the front office interrupted my treatment to ask for my Social Security number. I immediately told her that I do not give out my Social Security number because of all the data breaches these days. She responded that if they couldn't get it, they would have to stop my treatment. I told her, "Okay, then stop." She eventually contacted my insurance company, and they only needed the last four digits of my Social Security number, which I provided. This entire situation could have been avoided if the office had verified my insurance before my appointment. I scheduled the appointment a week in advance, so there was plenty of time to resolve any insurance issues before I was sitting in the dental chair. Because they didn't do that, they couldn't perform my annual deep cleaning and instead only did a regular cleaning. I also have PPO insurance, and they collected a copay. My previous dentist never charged me anything out of pocket for routine cleanings or X-rays. When I asked when I would get my money back, they told me it would be after they submitted the insurance claim. The dentist himself was wonderful. He apologized for the confusion, showed me where I needed a few fillings, and recommended completing that dental work before getting a touch-up for my aligners. I explained that my teeth shift very quickly and that I really needed to continue using my aligners because I audition, and I didn't want my teeth to move. He said, "We'll figure it out," which I appreciated. Weeks went by, and I still hadn't heard anything. Since I really needed to get my aligners adjusted, I first called my insurance company. They told me they had never received a claim from the dental office. They also confirmed something very important: they only needed the last four digits of my Social Security number. They never requested my full Social Security number. That made me even more frustrated because the entire situation during my appointment could have been avoided. I then called West Hollywood Dental. Once again, the first thing the woman asked me for was my Social Security number. I explained that I was not comfortable giving out my full Social Security number but would gladly provide the last four digits. She insisted that wasn't good enough and wanted me to participate in a three-way call with the insurance company. I told her I felt that was the office's responsibility, not mine, and asked her to contact the insurance company herself and get back to me. The conversation quickly became argumentative. I explained that during my first visit I had apologized because I was frustrated, but this time I wasn't apologizing for protecting my personal information. She claimed I had repeatedly refused to provide my Social Security number, which simply wasn't true. I explained my position once. Instead of listening, she repeatedly talked over me and eventually began yelling. When I asked to speak with her supervisor, she told me she was the office manager. I then asked to speak with the dentist, and she said she would let him listen to my message. Looking back, I should have walked out the moment my treatment was interrupted to ask for my Social Security number. No patient should be put in that position while they're in the middle of a dental procedure. It's really unfortunate because the dentist was kind, professional, knowledgeable, and someone I genuinely liked. I truly believe he cares about his patients. Unfortunately, the front office staff completely ruined what could have been a great experience. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this office until the front office becomes more professional and learns how to treat patients with respect. If I could give a negative star, I would. The only reason this review gets one star is because the dentist himself was courteous, professional, and treated me with kindness.
