After tasting some of the samples of Baba Ghanoush, Humus, Grape Leaves, I must say, this is the BEST Mediterranean food I ever experienced !!!! Soon enough I googled location, since all menus were taking at the event. Finally within a week I visited Shawarma Palace in person and purchase amazing Baba Ghanoush and some other specialities - they were incredible. Excellent falafel and shawarma at absurdly low prices. We ordered a hummus appetizer which turned out to be completely unnecessary, but still worth getting just for the presentation. Despite the drafty, spartan storefront and paper plates, this was a surprisingly beautiful order of hummus, topped with spices and olives, and served with plenty of pita. The sandwiches were quite big considering both rang up at less than $6 and there was a lot going on in both. The falafel is nice and crisp and they add plenty of sauce, veggies, and pickles to keep it interesting and from getting too dry. The shawarma was similarly well appointed. Just discovered the spicy sauce and the spinach/feta pie. OH MY GOD. Must revise this to be a million stars. I don't even like spicy foods, but this spicy sauce concoction is just sooooo good, I am going to start asking Charlie to put it on everything. The spinach and feta pie is amazing, the texture of the bread is unbelievable. The spinach and feta is not overwhelming, definitely not too salty, and just tastes so fresh. We were leaving Worcester on the way home to Virginia and wanted some lunch, and found this was nearby. What a great find! The food was fresh and delicious. I guess it was a father and son operation that day, the son working the register and the father preparing the food in the back. Great service by the young man, and the chef even gave me some Tahini sauce to take with me. If I'm ever back in Worcester, I will be sure to visit again (and again)! I was visiting Worcester for work and I was really hungry for a shawarma wrap and ended up here. And boy am I happy that I did! The owner was very kind and welcoming. I was able to order a chicken shawarma sandwich, the hummus and pita chips and was in and out in about 7 minutes. For the portion size and quality of my meal, you definitely get your money's worth. A small deli looking place and happened to be the only Restaraunt open on Presidents' Day. We had chicken shawarma wrap, homemade hummus, and a spinach pie. The super nice guy who owns the place gave us some extra hummus and a baklava cake for free. We didn't plan on sitting there, but the owners fantastic demeanor conjured us to stay for our meal. He sat and chatted with us about everything from his business to his kids. We're from out of town, so our first impression of Worcester is one that will be engraved in our memories for a long time. I highly recommend going here if your looking for a quick bite or a long engaging meal. Let me just tell you, this is a legit place! I walked over one afternoon to get some lunch and saw they had two very large trays of fresh baklava just sitting right by the counter. Such a pleasant place to be. By the time I walked out the door to head back home, everyone knew my name and said bye.
