She took the time to listen, explain the situation clearly, and walk me through my options without ever making me feel rushed. I have been going here for years. Everybody is friendly and they do good work. There's been one situation that has felt shady and I did not like it. I had a part missing from my car. That was a safety recall by Ford. I had been asking about it for at least two years. Every time I take my car and I ask about that part. They just kept telling me that it takes a long time and it's on backorder. Finally I called Ford to ask what was going on and they asked about a case number. I told them I don't think I have a case number. They told me I had to go to Shawnee Mission Ford and ask them to do an evaluation of my car and make a case for my car. When I called Shawnee Mission Ford and asked for it for them to do an evaluation of my car and come up with a case number, they tried to talk me out of it multiple times and give me absolute lies for excuses. I insisted that they do an evaluation of my car and give me a case number. This is something that they absolutely should have done two years ago when this recall first came out. I was not getting the part because they were lying to me. I wasn't even in line to get the part! I'm not sure why they did not want to make a case for my car and get the part for me. I guess it probably has to do with not wanting to give away free labor. But it has left a bad taste in my mouth since then. After I forced them to make a case for that part, it only took about three weeks for the part to come in. Which is even more confirmation that they were lying to me for at least two years about not having the part available. Once they got the part for my car, they did call right away to set up a time to come to my house to put the part on my car. It only took about an hour. They have always done good work on my car, and they've always been very convenient and very friendly, but they don't feel super trustworthy to me now because of this safety recall situation. I don't like knowing that I had to force them to do the right thing. And I don't like knowing that they were giving me false information for two years. Salesman was fantastic! Finance manager was ridiculous... I had lease numbers from a competitor but these guys had the vehicle color we were interested in so I decided to check them out. There's a special lease deal on the big bend Bronco right now and this dealership couldn't come close to the actual numbers that the other dealer provided... The finance manager clearly thought I was a newb so I talked back to him s bit explaining that every Ford dealer should be participating in the same national promotion. Save your time, this is the prototypical dealership that gives others a bad name. They were not busy at all on a beautiful Saturday either. I took my truck in for an oil change/tire rotation. Left with stripped lug nuts and a broken rod (maybe worse). The shop took zero accountability. I know swelling lug nuts is an issue with fords but they had my truck 3 months prior and no issues. Worst part is now they are claiming they never touched my wheels and that it showed up that way. Their solution, pay a $100 diagnostic fee and who knows how much to actually fix the issue they caused. Go to Victory and Bob Allen and save yourself the head ache. read more

annoyingly This is my second time having to type this review but it's worth it to save anyone from my experience. I took my truck in yesterday to fix a recall on my backup camera, camera worked as it should unless it was above 100 or below 0 it just would not come on at all. I took it in and after I got it back I noticed that the guidelines and all camera features were gone. When I called to ask I spoke to Derby the service rep who had "helped" me previously. his response was oh yes I'm very familiar with this it happens pretty often but those functions are not required to have a operational camera, so in his eyes he has no responsibility to tell the customers their vehicle is going to be returned with less options than before. I stated I was not comfortable with that and asked what needed to be done to correctly fix my camera, he said that he could open a file with ford to see if they would possibly pay to replace the camera a 3rd time. I felt weird about the situation so I called and asked for a manager to call me back, introduce David, he was very respectful and took ownership over the mistake, gave me a fair, reasonable answer as to why this occured (a new tech so he didn't know to atomically calibrate the camera, which is fair but in itself alittle bit alarming why is this tech not being supervised or checked on?) regardless of that still fair and reasonable, said maybe an hour tops and it'll function as it should... Great! took off more time to come in the following morning and get this resolved. unfortunately I was handed back to Derby to "help" again, in a span of 5 minutes he told me he was not familiar at all with anything to do with camera services, yet the day before said he was very familiar, as well as today when he suddenly has no idea he in the same Sentence is telling me that David his boss has no idea about anything, lied, and then circled back to saying he never said we could order another camera the day before? so did he just make up completing a task to get me to bot call back? whatever high chair he is sitting on, I recommend stay far away from Derby, absolutely no question the worst customer service AND respect for your own company I have ever seen, I would be so disappointed to be employing a person who acts like that on the front lines of a company. Sales Manager was totally unaware of Ford End of Year lease deals requiring me to direct him to the Ford Website and how to get to the page of the deal being offered. Totally unacceptable! Even with that information, the Sales Manager was unable to discern the offering and understand the calculation to get to the advertised monthly lease price resulting in a quote of nearly double the price. Stated he'd check his numbers and call me back. Never heard from him again. Took my business to Noller in Topeka and one very sharp Sales Manager named Evan. We were on the same page in every aspect of the Ford End of Year program resulting in a quick and enjoyable experience. Dealerships worse nightmare is an informed buyer with access to the internet. Noller is an hour from my home but worth the drive and my "Go-To" dealer going forward. read more

I was told my Ford points would cover the cost of The Works oil change and inspection when I made the appointment with Shawnee Mission Ford's service department. After waiting 1.5 hours for the work to be completed on the day of the appointment, the service representative told me I owed money for the services provided. I explained the person that booked the appointment said my Ford points would cover the cost of the service. The representative did not offer any alternative to the discrepancy. Additionally, after I paid, the representative never said sorry about the long wait, or thank you for your business. I made a complaint with Ford Motor Company that was submitted to this dealership. I have a regular mechanic I use year round and have amazing service. Had to go here twice (once for a part recall and once for a check light), and both experiences were extremely disappointing. I dread having to go back for any future issues. They bombard you with messages to not miss your "appointment" and they didn't even have the recall part available when I showed up. Not respecting the customer's time after sending 400 texts and emails is insane. Second experience with a service appointment, we paid for the diagnosis and were definitely not going to spend $200 more for the repair than what our regular mechanic quoted us after we got the diagnosis at Shawnee Ford. We need to be heard. Dont go here. We ordered a Bronco 2 years ago and it finally showed up! We were SO excited! the wait wasn't an issue, that was supply chain things that no one had control of. THE PROBLEM CAME when we arrived to pick up the car we ordered from Ford.com and were placed with this dealership. It took us 6 hours at the dealership to pick up a car we had already ordered and supposedly sent in applications for the loan so it was going to be fast. It took 6 hours. We were the only customers in there for a lot of the day, so it wasn't due to it being busy. I can only guess that it was a tactic after what happened to us there. The salesman was great and we have worked with him for the interim 2 years so that part was fine. It was the finance team that was Abhorrent and actually Used illegal tactics to coerce us into getting an extended warranty. We were told that the interest rate was going to be 6% and I knew that was too much so I asked for them to do better. The finance man Tony came out and said "they couldnt sell us the car without the warranty" and he could do 5.5% and that he could give us a better deal on the extended warranty. That rate was still Over market rate, and my credit is 815 with plenty in the bank and income, so I know that was a tactic on their side not due to our finances. I pushed back, and [who I was told was the manager] Marlena Morgan came out and told us IF we buy the extended warranty we could get 3.9% and if not we would have to now pay 7% She said that the bank wouldn't take a loan if we didn't purchase the warranty. And that was the final answer. We opted to get that since we were told in no uncertain terms that was the only way to get market rate interest. I am not used to buying new cars so I didn't know better till later. I called the bank. That is not true. They don't, and NEVER have required that a buyer purchase the extended warranty. FURTHERMORE after some research it is ILLEGAL to tie purchase together in that way. [Its called "Tied Selling" feel free to look it up. I wish I had known before going.] We were lied to to make us spend THOUSANDS of more dollars than we had to. I just got off the phone with Marlena, she told me [and I have a recording] that I was mistaken. "We must have had a lot going on that day and didn't remember". My wife was there. I was there. I made sure to ask why we had to buy the warranty to get the interest rate. She said it was the bank policy. That was a lie. It was Illegal. I am so angry at this. UPDATE: just off the phone with the GM Jeremy [who made sure to let us know that he was having a good day and that our problem wouldn't make it a bad day]. He doubled down and said that it must have been us confusing the part when Tony said "we can't sell you this car without the warranty" or when Marlena said "we HAD to get the warranty or the bank wont give us the loan". I recognize that he has to support his staff. I also recognize that I have the power of the internet to let you the customer or potential customer know that THEY LIE AND THEN TELL YOU THAT *YOU* DON'T REMEMBER RIGHT IF CONFRONTED. Every time I called, they were like we will get to it. Thursday it was still sitting there not touched. Was not even looked at to see what was going on with it. They told me that it would not be looked at till next week. Then I was told if it was the recall that it would be 2 months before it would even be looked at to fix. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!! September13,2021 we ordered a 2022 Ford Maverick truck XL from Greg Lofton (fleet sales manager for 4 years) at Shawnee Mission Ford. We signed the order forms along with Greg and paid a deposit. He said the Maverick should arrive in a few months. After waiting 6 months we spoke with Greg again, and he said the possible delay could be from the additional "add-ons" we ordered, so we removed all but the factory trailer hitch. After 9 months of waiting, we took off the trailer hitch, now the truck was stripped from all "add-ons" changing the existing price of $25,915.22 plus tax to the MSRP of 19,995.00 plus a destination and delivery fee of $1495.00 plus administration fee of $499.00 plus Kansas sales tax. Which is what we were expecting to pay, plus sales tax, less our deposit, when the truck arrived with the VIN: 3FTTW8E34NRA72730. We got an email from Jim Beadle (the new Ford fleet manager) stating that our long wait was over, and the Maverick had finally arrived. We went that day to see the Maverick, and to make arrangements to pay. The Maverick was currently being worked on at that time for a factory recall and Jim told us it would not be ready for a few more days. (We were hoping to trade in our 2020 Ford Ranger XL, until Jim quoted us a really low trade in price.) We decided to not trade in our Ranger, and we would use our bank to finance or just pay cash. Marlayna Morgan (new car sales manager) stepped in, and said we could not use our own financing and that we had to use Shawnee Mission Fords financing for a minimum of 6 months, and that the final price of the truck would be $1659.00 higher than what we were originally quoted, because when the truck arrived at the dealership they added an additional spray (scotch guard type of protection) to the interior. We thought we had no other choice but to finance through SMFord, but not pay for the after market spray, so Jim started filling out the paperwork for the financing. Josephine did not know her SSN so the financing was left incomplete. Jim walked us to the entrance of the dealership and we told him we are still interested in purchasing the Maverick, and that we still had a deposit on the vehicle. We called Jim the next day and told him we would be out of town for a few days and would contact him when we got back, after all the truck was not available as of yet because of the factory recall. We were so disappointed with Marlayna's "take it or leave it" attitude. When she first approached us, she accused me of being combative, she also told us that Greg Lofton had been fired. She would not give us the owners contact information when we requested it. She also told us we had to pay for the additional spray of $1659.00 (we never were told about this additional cost until she gave us a purchase agreement), and that we had no choice but to finance through Shawnee Mission Ford. We found Dan and Amy Diedrich's (owners of Shawnee Mission Ford) email information online, and informed them about their dealership unethical and unprofessional behavior. PSA....... Do NOT take your vehicles to Shawnee Mission Ford to be serviced! Be warned!! On Wednesday 3/1/23 my husband took our 2019 F250 which he pampers and cleans constantly to get its required oil change/service. Shawnee Mission Ford had our truck for several hours before my husband went and picked it up. we paid the $170 charge and drove the truck 33 miles to our house where he parked it in his shop. on 3/5/23 my husband pulled it out of the shop and noticed an insane mount of oil on the shop floor. we looked at the truck and noticed oil pouring out of the filter and the oil pan. Apparently whoever changed the oil didn't screw the oil pan bolt or the filter on correctly. On 3/6/23 I received a call back from Greg in the service department who stated they would re-change the oil, change the filter and then clean up all the oil on the engine and underneath the truck. Though I was still pissed, I felt that was fair as long as the truck was returned to its original condition. Well, fast forward to today. My husband brought it in for a scheduled service appointment, which was preplanned according to Greg. Greg told us that the service would only take approximately an hour to an hour and a half, but my husband had to run to Work real quick so he left it. My husband returned to pick the truck up approximately five hours later only to find out they tightened the filter and wiped it off. ARE YOU SERIOUS??!!! My husband confronted the service guy and asked what happened to the oil change and the new filter and the service guy said they did not find a leak so they didn't redo the oil change. That makes no damn sense. Of course there was a damn leak. There's oil all over my shop floor and the engine of the truck. Long story short apparently they got authorization to re-change the oil and now this is turning into a seven hour job. What kind of professional business does this? What kind of certified mechanic doesn't screw the oil pan bolt on all the way or screw the filter on correctly? We won't be taking any of our vehicles to Shawnee Mission Ford ever again because we can't trust that the job will be done correctly. I mean God forbid I didn't see the spill and took the truck out and ran it dry...... ridiculous but I guess hindsights 20-20 ......I'm warning everybody else that may want to go there or who has been there double check your car!! Funny thing is when I went up there to complain second and third time all they could say was they were sorry ...... such horrible customer service! Went there to look at a 2018 Mustang Gt. Everything was good at first but I had bad feeling when they gave me the numbers and was telling me I could pay my $1000 a week later and would get my tags. I traded in my old car which they gave me $4k which was fine but why pay a $1000 if I'm trading a car right? On top of them providing a insurance for a 30 days and first note wasn't scheduled til a little over 31 days. Come to find out they never went over the car fax and was trying to sale me a Branded title buyback/lemon car. Just bought a new 2017 Platinum Ford Fusion! The salesman who helped me, Darrin S., was super helpful and with an assist from Gilbert they were able to get the price of the car down to something that was totally workable! I made an appointment to test drive at 2:45 to come and test drive a few different types of Fusions and I fell in love with the first one that I drove...of course;)! I was not expecting to spend pretty much all day over here but it was worth it! We did have to haggle over the price for several hours but once again, totally worth it! Pro-tip: coming to purchase a car at the end of the month is likely a good idea because the all of the salespeople have quotas to meet and they want you very badly to sell you a car. It almost seems like they will do almost anything that is possible to have you leave that day driving a new car. Also, if you are in university or a recent graduate they will hook you up with an extra discount, which is nice. I hope that the service side of Shawnee Mission Ford is as good and helpful as the sales side was! All in all, I am extremely pleased with the car that I purchased and 90% happy with the price that we eventually settled on. Beware though, if you come out to test drive & possibly purchase a car you may end up spending your whole entire day out here...like I have done. I brought my car in for service for the AWD. I told them what the problem was because my mechanic already diagnosed it for me and said it should be covered under warranty and it''s a known issue. It literally just needed a software update. Not only did this place say its not covered under warranty (Still questioning that), but charged $191 diagnostic fee - even though I told them what the problem was! I had to have my car there at 8:30, but they didn't even start looking at it until 1:30 when I called to check on it. I wish I would have read these reviews before going. We have never once had a good experience at this Ford location. We have continued to go there due to convenience of location but we will not be back. This last experience was the last straw for us. We took our truck in due to a recall, we also asked they complete the 100k service. When we were notified the truck was ready, we asked what the balance was. The person who called us would not give us this information over the phone. Michael & Greg were who we dealt with. The balance was $2,200. They did work we did NOT ask for OR approve. HOW IS THAT OK? We did not receive an apology. They will lie to you because they know most people are not educated on cars/parts/pricing etc. read more

Took my husbands truck to Shawnee Mission service department. We didn't hear from them all day (7am appointment) so we called left a message and got a call back one hour before they closed stating the repairs would be $1,700. Told them we'd call back so we could discuss the issue amongst ourselves. We determined the cost was much higher than anticipated. We called back to let them know we would need to pickup the vehicle, no answer. We go in to speak with them and they let us know the vehicle is not ready to be picked up because the truck was "taken apart" in the back "just in case you wanted to proceed with repairs" yet they also told us they wouldn't be able to get to repairs for a week. We ended up getting the car the next day and taking it elsewhere. It was a 200$ repair. Not happy at all. Feel like we were lied to. Communication there sucks. read more

I keep trying to find a Ford dealership with decent customer service, but I'm beginning to wonder if that exists. This is my second oil change here. Appointment was at 3:30. They didn't start the oil change until 4:30pm. The whole process took 90 minutes for a simple oil change. When I expressed concern about how long it was taking, all I got was excuses. If this is how business is done, I think I'll take my business somewhere else. read more

Recently took my vehicle for repair service for an oil pan leak. After it being there a few hours, the technician determined it would be a couple days to fix so provided me with a loan car (which is why I gave it 2 stars) and very much appreciated that. However, 5 days later, I hadn't heard anything - called, no response. Day 6 I called and was told they would check into it and see if they could move it forward (seems other cars waiting on parts were taking up the stalls). Day 7 I called again and was told it would be atleast another 2 weeks before they could get to it due to the technician being gone now. I pulled my car from their shop and took it to another dealership the next day - they repaired the leak in less than 45 minutes. My business is now with them. read more

Took my car in because I had a maintenance package; each time I took it in there was a fault with my car: - Alignment - Tires - Brake pads - Battery Took my car to another garage and they told me "don't know who told you that, but they blowing smoke up your behind" I have paperwork to prove this as well. Shameful. It's unfortunate that I still have to go to this garage because my bumper-to-bumper coverage, otherwise will not have these people service my car. read more

Contact the dealership about a maverick truck. Was treaded rudely by the general sales manager (Jeremy) as he tried to swindle me for an inflated price way in excess of MSRP. Didn't ford specifically tell dealers to not do this. Tried to convince me 20k over was the going rate. When I respectfully tried to discuss the situation and what I was willing to do he ignored me.
