What an awesome afternoon we spent at Shaw's Patio & Grill's patio! A friend of ours was presenting numerous readings from her published collection of poetry. We were really excited to hear her beautiful prose and words. On top of that, it was a perfect afternoon to spend on the patio. Even though it was February and technically winter, the temps outside couldn't have been better. It was a glorious Sunday afternoon to be outdoors in Ft. Worth. Unfortunately, we found out that Shaw's kitchen closes at 4:00pm on Sundays. The only food item from the bar were chips and salsa. I don't know if they're making their own salsa, but it was really good with just the right amount of punch to it. As we were enjoying Shaw's excellent frozen Margaritas, we ended up getting a refill of chips so we could finish the cup of salsa. We didn't want to leave any behind. On top of the wonderful duo of musicians who were entertaining us, we also found out that on Sunday afternoons "Club Church" was held on the patio. It's a "not in your face" very casual service with scripture reading and even communion. It was nicely done. My wife and I both decided that we want to come back to Shaw's when the kitchen is open to try some of their delicious selections from the menu. read more

I'm new to the neighborhood and wanted to give this place a try so I brought some family out for dinner. The food was way over priced, I understand it's gotten more expensive to operate but $15+ (the least expensive burger is $15) for a mediocre cheeseburger with a slim patty and some frozen French fries and onion rings is atrocious. The service was not attentive, staff is walking around phone in hand, couldn't care less. Had to wave different staff members down for refills, condiments and utensils. The cherry on top that made me feel like writing this review as I try not to write bad reviews was I asked for ketchup and was brought a little sauce ramequin with ketchup that had turned dark red and into almost a solid. I literally held it upside down and it didn't move. I feel bad for the one guy who sat us who I assume is a manager who did his best to make it right, but the damage was done. Normally I'd leave a 2-3 star and say "get it together" but they seem beyond saving. Won't be back! read more

Great service at Shaw's! I went for trivia night and was not disappointed. There is an excellent beer selection for fair prices. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Most weeknights they seem to have different activities going on! Parking is a little thin so I would prepare to walk a bit from your car to the restaurant. read more

I have been wanting to get over and check out Shaw's Patio Bar & Grill for quite a while now but I don't seem to get over in the Magnolia area very often finally did! The cool little place is right next to Heim BBQ on Magnolia, it has a nice little patio, a game room with a pool table, and a bar with high top table seating. They have an internet jukebox so you can play some music while you have a drink, the staff was very nice and the atmosphere was chill. I ordered the spicy fried mozzarella sticks and they we're awesome! They caught my eye on the menu a while back and I knew I had to try them once I got down there and I'll order them every time I go back, I also ordered the Southside sliders which have fried onion strings, barbecue sauce, cheese and they were yummy as well. Food was not great. Hamburger was ok but not great. I asked for condiments on the side and the burger came with no condiments. Had to ask for them. Had to flag someone down to get a cola refill. French fries and onion rings were nothing special and seemed they were just out of the freezer. Service was not good. The service was really good and the place was super clean. My husband had the brisket on a bun and he said it was average and the fries were your normal frozen crinkle cut fries with no salt. We came in on a Saturday night around 10pm asking if it was okay for drinks, and a server informed us they closed at midnight. We later caught that server talking bad about us confirming this in the kitchen and awkwardly smiled at us when he saw us looking at him. Then him and the woman server kept looking at us weird throughout the whole night. Felt discriminated the whole time. If you don't want money then don't work somewhere open until midnight. We had lunch at Shaw's the other day. This is the second time we've done so. Both visits were very satisfying. The server did an excellent job and was very attentive to us during our meal. My team and I had lunch here today and were the first to arrive upon their 11 am opening. 2 of us ordered a small Greek salad in which the menu showed an option of either grilled or fried chicken. We both ordered 2 small salads with grilled chicken. Our server returned to tell us that grilled chicken wasn't an option on the small which was $12 and the large was $3 more. I pointed out what the menu showed but got no response. I chose the large salad and my team member chose fried chicken on the small. Lo and behold, both salads come out and both are the same size and I was charged the $3 more. Although, the food was tasty, it's the principle of the matter for me so I can't recommend the restaurant based on them not honoring THEIR menu and upcharging for what's really the same size salad. read more

This was my first time to ever eat here. The ambiance was very homey with '70s and '80s music playing. For lunch, I ordered the Trail Boss, which is a very delicious bison burger, accompanied with onion rings. Sarah, my wonderful server, took such good care of me. I wanted for nothing. Went here yesterday for lunch with a few coworkers and really enjoyed my food and the experience. We were super short on time and the staff were so nice and understanding about this. They brought out our menus and drink orders quickly. Also, they took our orders quickly and were understanding when a couple of things changed. I wasn't super hungry, so I decided to get their homemade chili with onions. I asked the waitress who it good and she told me that it was amazing chili! I thought maybe she was joking and just trying to get me to order a $7 bowl of chili, but it was the truth! This was some of the best chili I have ever tasted. So full of flavor, spices, and peppers. The only downside was that it was a little salty, but it was so worth it. It is a beef based chili, so there are no beans, but it is super hearty! I love the feel of the restaurant as there are tons of cool albums and trinkets on their walls. It has a cool homey feel and they have tons of drink specials. If I did not have to go back to work I would've tried one of their mojitos or margaritas!! This just means I will have to go back!! read more

Visited Shaw's during Fort Worth 2023 Burger Week. Not only was the burger dry and lacking flavor even with the chili but our server said we could not share the burger and if she saw us sharing she would have to charge us for two burgers. Really??? The order was for a burger and two beers. We were very disappointed and needless to say we will not be back to Shaw's. One time their phones weren't working properly (I was trying to place Togo order and I couldn't) and the owner made sure it was fixed right away. I went in on a Sunday just to relax and have a couple of sangrias. Even though there was no one in the place, the service was insanely slow and I almost left before my first sangria ever was ordered. When it was time to go, I left a 30% tip. A couple of days later when I looked at my bank account, I noticed that they added an additional couple of dollars onto their tip. I called and asked for the manager. The lady on the phone said she was the manager and asked me to hurry because it was lunch rush and she was working it. I told her what happened and she said she would "research it later when (she) had time" and get back to me. I never heard back until making them aware of posting this review today. I will not be back and I can't recommend the place. **UPDATE: The management wrote back chastising me for leaving a "scathing" Yelp review. It seems they "tried to call me back" but she wrote down the wrong number. Today we ate lunch at Shaw's. We have eaten here before but today the food was less than sub par. The burger I had was dry, extremely well done and had no flavor to he point hat I only picked at half the burger. I complained to the waiter but basically said nothing to help make it better like would you like me to make you something else. Not sure I'll go back anytime soon. Very disappointing. read more

Last night was my family and I's 5th time at Shaw's Patio Bar & Grill and it has become our favorite hangout spot! The employees are very sweet, the manager is awesome, attentive and super accommodating. The atmosphere is great and they have a ton of events throughout the week. OH and not to mention great food!! (You need to try the Shaws sauce with whatever you order by the way, YUM) We took our 8 year old Nylah here a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night and last night as well (karaoke night) The first night she went she fell in LOVE with the place after hopping on stage and is asking to return every Friday from here on out, which is totally fine with us lol. Oh and one more thing! we love the karaoke host Tonyoke. He remembered us from last time and made my kid super happy. She went home saying "tonight was the best night ever" so thank you guys so much and see you next time! read more

Had lunch at Shaw's Patio during the workweek. We had the Mushroom & Swiss burger with fries and the Bison burger with homemade chips. Each burger had very good flavor. The mushrooms were bland, no real flavor. The bison burger came with Cabernet onions, which were good and blue cheese mayo, which was good but not even on the burger. The first half of burger had no blu cheese mayo. Tasted great on the second half. The service was very good, friendly and quick. Bar atmosphere, booths and tables. Lunch today at Shaw's Patio Bar & Grill at 1051 W Magnolia Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 was absolutely delicious. My Cousin Doug Sutherland brought me to lunch at this great, locally owned restaurant by some other Cousins, Ann Shaw and David Shaw. They have been on Magnolia Ave on the Southside longer than many of their clientele. We had delicious Onion Rings with a Club Sandwich and a Bacon Cheeseburger with grilled buns and grilled onions. Very good All-American combination. Service was fast and very safety conscious. There is free parking in front, to the side, and in the back parking lot.
