Rice Stick Noodles with Peanut Sauce Shaxian wonton Combo a $6.50
    Irene L.

Affordable and quick meal if you are in the area. When you go down the steps, you order and pay in the back There are plenty of seatings but didn't see a bathroom. They have a lot of affordable combos. I ordered combo a for $6.50 no tax added. It's shaxi wontons and peanut noodles. The noodles had a great bouncy texture and the sauce was perfect amount of Unami with a hit of sweetness. The wontons were okay. It's a lot less plump than the old duck restaurant near by and I had to add the white vinegar. I do recommend this place if you are on a budget. Service was fast no frills.

They have quick snacks and food here. They have fujianese, vietnamese (pho noodles), japanese (takoyaki, okonomiyaki). You order your foods, pay and find a spot to sit. Then they will call out the food & you go pick it up. We ordered to try 3 items: 1) steamed dumplings, 2) fried dumplings, 3) peanut noodle. The steamed dumpling was ok. It was very vinegarish. We didn't like it The fried dumplings were delicious. Crunchy, savory and a bit on the oily side. The peanut noodle was ok. It was vinegarish and peanutty. I am glad to try it as I have never eaten fujianese peanut noodles before. I don't think I would reorder this. Tons of seating and foods came out fast.

Lowkey spot to hit, if you are craving authentic fuzhou quick eats. We got the combos A, B and C. Which had wonton soup (tender and slippery) with each combo. Between the steamed dumplings, fried dumplings and peanut butter noodles. The steamed dumplings mimics a xiao long bal w. The dumpling sauce.

This is my pick for the shaxian food. I grew up in the town an hour from shaxian so I have this food growing up. Came here for a quick fix because I was home sick and really craving a good wonton. Unlike the Cantonese wonton the shaxian wonton taste different also have a different texture. I have to say they really do it well here and each wonton have really good round filling of the meat, add some wine vinegar and white pepper to taste better But for the noodle I don't really taste the good flavor, it's very much hit and miss even at home, not everyone can make a good peanut soy noodle. The place is self service and make sure you clean up after you finish. Some people left their plates on the table they ask people to take it when you leave.

We ordered from Shaxian Snacks for the first time recently, drawn in by the photos of wonton soups and dumplings. Conveniently, they had combos that included both wontons and dumplings, so we got one with fried pork dumplings and one with steamed pork dumplings. We also ordered some leek dumplings on the side. My favorite part of the meal was the fried pork dumplings. They had the most flavor out of everything we got, and they held up pretty well for delivery. The steamed pork dumplings were fine, very pretty to look at, but not that flavorful. I love leek dumplings, but while these tasted good, they had almost no discernible leek flavor at all. The meat in the wontons was a little tougher and chewier than I prefer, but the broth was good. Even though the carton looked small when I took it out of the bag (it was the smaller size of the standard soup takeout containers), it was filling and came packed with wontons. The food was more of a 3-3.5* for me, but rounding up to 4* because the delivery was great, nothing leaked, and everything seemed fresh. I think if we order again, I might try something different to go along with some fried dumplings.

Amazing!!! I wish I've discover the existence of this place earlier. This will become my go to Guangzhou/ Chinese breakfast place. Inexpensive + delicious food!! Lots of options. My favorite is Combo B that includes the Shaxian Wontons and Steamed Pork Dumplings ($7.99) and a side of Fried Pork Dumplings ($4). The food definitely gave me memories of the brunch that I ate back when I was in Guangzhou, I'm impressed. The Wontons, Steamed Dumplings, Fried dumplings are truly different from other places, there were a lot of fillings, full of meat and veggies. Everything is made freshly so it's about a $10 wait for your order. Very yummy and definitely worth it!!! The staffs are really friendly and kind, they were very welcoming and they told me their favorites. The interior is very updated and beautiful, but indoor dining is currently closed due to this pandemic. On the bright side, take out and deliveries are available! Highly recommend!!

My family had a very pleasant delivery experience with Shaxian Snacks. We requested for no peanut butter on one of the noodles if possible, and they called back to tell us that it unfortunately was not since the sauce was already mixed in. I'm relieved that they bothered to call at all instead of just ignoring the request like some places would. The lady we spoke to was so nice. Also, the food was really good and the prices are beyond fair. We also had rice noodles with mixed beef, but I didn't snap a picture. It was delicious as well! We were stuffed and will definitely order from the place again.

We decided to venture off to Brooklyn and found this little spot. I never had these types of dumplings before and I have to admit they do have a bit of uniqueness of their own. It has a bit of that bouncy-ness and the flavors are good! Was a bit disappointed in the peanut sauce noodles. Didn't really taste much of any peanut sauce. The soups was perfect ! Great combo with the soup, steam, and pan fried dumplings. Definitely recommend. They are currently doing in-door dinning but max is 10 or less.

Small casual lunch shop on union street, must try! I wanted to order the fried flour noodles but my Chinese was horrible and had ordered the fried thin rice noodles instead. Nonetheless, I had ate it all. Brings back childhood memories as it is similar to FJ food. Pricing here is very affordable! Also ordered the fried dumplings and it was delicious! Eat it while its still hot! Super crispy. Will come back to try the hot and sour noodles.

My favorite restaurant to have a late night quick meal. It closes at midnight! The oxtail soup and pork & peanut soup are amazing. Shrimp shape dumplings are yummy and pretty. The combo is with one pork belly, one veggie, one soup, and white rice, only $17! It's unbeatable price!

Order meal D , and to-go . Had couple pieces steam dumplings, uncooked! Uncooked ! Terrible! See the raw meat inside of dumplings! For honestly, I want give them 0-Star if yelp possible offer.

The food was very fairly priced and the portions were huge. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, szechuan chicken (which came with white rice), and pad see ew (which though not listed comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp). Everything was solid, but our favorite was the fried rice which had a ton of flavor. I liked the veggies that were in the chicken dish but there were just way too many of them compared to the chicken and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. The pad see ew wasn't made the traditional way I've had it with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It had some sort of orange sauce that tasted closer to a sweet and sour. It wasn't bad it was just not what I was hoping for. The soup dumplings were solid, no complaints there. And the fried rice was great, lots of flavor. Overall, I liked this place especially for the price but I'd probably order different things if I went back.

I found parking down the block and walked over to the restaurant. It seems like more of a delivery spot because there was no one inside sitting at any of the 5 tables. It's a fairly good size space, very simply decorated, mixed with a cool wall resembling a curio cabinet of treasures. I chose a spot in the middle and went to the restroom which was clean and simple. I noticed there were a lot of takeout orders, from delivery services to local folks picking up their regular dinner. I looked over the menu and decided on salt and pepper wings and an order of shrimp. Fried Rice came out first and it was delicious. I even tasted a hint of salted egg yolk mixed into the egg mixture friefried up with the rice that signature crispiness with the little saltiness.... fantastic. The salt and pepper wings were different than the ones i'm accustomed to though the flavor was amazing. It didn't have the fried garlic, peppers, chilis, and onions that i'm accustomed to being in the dish. They were still flavorful, juicy and crisp and I could tell they cooked them fresh. That was much appreciated. I ended up taking half of my food home because I was stuffed.Thank you Msm Ellen and the Crown Garden crew for a tasty solo dinner.

There was nothing that I ordered that needed ketchup. Nothing. There wasn't even soy sauce in the bag. Then had the unmitigated gall to charge $22 for the salt baked shrimp and told me I had to pay $5 extra to substitute the lo mein for white rice. Who is eating white rice with shrimp? Girl bye. I'm not paying almost $30 for one meal from a hood Chinese spot. If there's no heat in your establishment, your prices need to be in lowercase. If it looks like you might catch staph in your establishment, your prices need not to be so loud. I also believe they overcharged me. They did have a sign saying that the prices went up, but I think they may have been too cheap to print out a new menu if that was the case. I was going off of what they had on the wall for the general public. So as I stated, I ordered crab Rangoon ($7, allegedly), honey wings ($7, allegedly), a shrimp egg roll ($2, allegedly), spare rib tips with fried rice ($12, allegedly). My total was $31. My assumption is they probably charged me extra for pork fried rice, which I didn't ask him for. I know for a fact they are not charging tax because there's no way that you're forcing people to pay in cash while also charging them for taxes that you don't pay. The crab Rangoon was actually pretty decent even though I didn't have the sauce that comes with it. The honey wings were OK. They actually taste more like honey BBQ. I prefer C&Y honey wings. It's real honey and stay hot for an hour due to the way honey maintains heat. I also don't appreciate when these spots chop up a wing and call it two wings. 1 wing is the entire thing. STINGY. The spare rib tips I don't like and neither do I like their pork fried rice. The rice is a bit bland and I don't like those large spare rib tips. I prefer the boneless spare rib tips that C&Y has. A shrimp roll is a shrimp roll is a shrimp roll. It wasn't too bad and it was actually pretty happy. The shrimp was a little bit larger than those baby shrimp that they normally stuff in shrimp rolls. Their pricing is on par with C&Y yet I don't have no issues paying what they ask and their food is good aside from their lo mein. They are not stingy and have pretty decent customer service unlike the guy who took my order here who paused my order to take another order over the phone and tend to the person behind me. This is what I get for cheating on my spot and being lazy when they both were far af.
