I've gotten food from here a few times, and every time is just as good as the first time. For just $3.50, you can get a full portion of peanut noodles or scallion oil noodles. I always balance out the meal by ordering their sautéed vegetable (Chinese broccoli) and a soy marinated egg. Trust me when I say, the flavors and preparation of the food here are absolute perfection. And for the price tag, you truly cannot beat it. I'm grateful to live within walking distance of this restaurant, because sometimes, I need my noodle fix, and I can't help but be impressed by how low they've managed to keep the prices, while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Very surprised by the low average review. Yes this place lacks ambiance, but the food is good and dirt cheap. We ordered the wonton, steamed chive dumplings and the peanut noodles. Good portion size and the grand total was $11. The wontons were numerous, tasty, and swimming in a very nice broth. The noodles in peanut sauce had a nice balance of peanuts and saltiness from the soy sauce. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The dumplings were probably the weakest of the three. Affordable and quick meal if you are in the area. When you go down the steps, you order and pay in the back There are plenty of seatings but didn't see a bathroom. They have a lot of affordable combos. I ordered combo a for $6.50 no tax added. It's shaxi wontons and peanut noodles. The noodles had a great bouncy texture and the sauce was perfect amount of Unami with a hit of sweetness. The wontons were okay. It's a lot less plump than the old duck restaurant near by and I had to add the white vinegar. I do recommend this place if you are on a budget. Service was fast no frills. read more

We didn't like it The fried dumplings were delicious. Crunchy, savory and a bit on the oily side. The peanut noodle was ok. It was vinegarish and peanutty. This is my pick for the shaxian food. I grew up in the town an hour from shaxian so I have this food growing up. Came here for a quick fix because I was home sick and really craving a good wonton. Unlike the Cantonese wonton the shaxian wonton taste different also have a different texture. I have to say they really do it well here and each wonton have really good round filling of the meat, add some wine vinegar and white pepper to taste better But for the noodle I don't really taste the good flavor, it's very much hit and miss even at home, not everyone can make a good peanut soy noodle. The place is self service and make sure you clean up after you finish. Some people left their plates on the table they ask people to take it when you leave. read more

We ordered from Shaxian Snacks for the first time recently, drawn in by the photos of wonton soups and dumplings. Conveniently, they had combos that included both wontons and dumplings, so we got one with fried pork dumplings and one with steamed pork dumplings. We also ordered some leek dumplings on the side. My favorite part of the meal was the fried pork dumplings. They had the most flavor out of everything we got, and they held up pretty well for delivery. The steamed pork dumplings were fine, very pretty to look at, but not that flavorful. I love leek dumplings, but while these tasted good, they had almost no discernible leek flavor at all. The meat in the wontons was a little tougher and chewier than I prefer, but the broth was good. Even though the carton looked small when I took it out of the bag (it was the smaller size of the standard soup takeout containers), it was filling and came packed with wontons. The food was more of a 3-3.5* for me, but rounding up to 4* because the delivery was great, nothing leaked, and everything seemed fresh. I think if we order again, I might try something different to go along with some fried dumplings. read more

Amazing!!! I wish I've discover the existence of this place earlier. This will become my go to Guangzhou/ Chinese breakfast place. Inexpensive + delicious food!! Lots of options. My favorite is Combo B that includes the Shaxian Wontons and Steamed Pork Dumplings ($7.99) and a side of Fried Pork Dumplings ($4). The food definitely gave me memories of the brunch that I ate back when I was in Guangzhou, I'm impressed. The Wontons, Steamed Dumplings, Fried dumplings are truly different from other places, there were a lot of fillings, full of meat and veggies. Everything is made freshly so it's about a $10 wait for your order. Very yummy and definitely worth it!!! The staffs are really friendly and kind, they were very welcoming and they told me their favorites. The interior is very updated and beautiful, but indoor dining is currently closed due to this pandemic. On the bright side, take out and deliveries are available! Highly recommend!! read more

My family had a very pleasant delivery experience with Shaxian Snacks. We requested for no peanut butter on one of the noodles if possible, and they called back to tell us that it unfortunately was not since the sauce was already mixed in. I'm relieved that they bothered to call at all instead of just ignoring the request like some places would. The lady we spoke to was so nice. Small casual lunch shop on union street, must try! I wanted to order the fried flour noodles but my Chinese was horrible and had ordered the fried thin rice noodles instead. Really happy I came across this store on DoorDash. I live in Park Slope so it's been a lot of hit and miss with traditional authentic Chinese food, especially dumplings. I ordered the leek dumplings, combo wontons and fried pork dumplings and braised pork belly dish that came with choy and your choice of soup (I picked the chicken and ginger soup). Everything was delicious and reminded me of spending days in Chinatown with my grandparents. Everything was packaged well. The fried pork dumplings could've been crispier but understandable due to the travel time in a container. The wontons aren't like the Hong Kong style wontons, these are smaller but still tasty. The broth was good too. Will be ordering more from this place. Happy to have these leftovers too! read more

I walked in, asked the lady behind the counter if i could have a menu, but was ignored while she texted away, so i collected one myself. When i was ready to order, she told me to wait and continued texting for at least another thirty seconds with me standing right infront of her, mouth ajar, before deciding to acknowledge my presence. Lady, text on your own time. I dont pay to wait on you. Anyway, to the "food". For a total of 8 dollars i got a vegetable noodle soup consisting of what appeared to be kettle water, a cup of rubber noodles, and almost two tablespoons (if im being generous) of cabbage. Come on, guys ive seen food court food leagues above this. I couldnt imagine a sadder looking soup. And the icing on the cake was when she decided to sit right next to me - to continue texting!
