The noodles are now perfectly al dente and other places no longer match up to them (for some reason I feel like their noodle soup has better texture compared to their lo mein despite being the same thing except for portion size and container...its really weird). Nonetheless, I am now constantly ordering their beef tripe and beef tendon. My picky 3 year old loves the tendon. Their chili oil is really good. Just a little drop makes all the difference. I am waiting for a chance to stop by just before visiting my parents so I can get a jar for my mom. After I tried Maxi's, quite a few people recommended Superior Wonton Noodle, so I decided to check it out--especially since it's right in my neighborhood. Are their wontons really better than Maxi's? Quick verdict: their shrimp wontons are truly SUPERIOR, closely on par with Maxi's. I even brought home a dozen frozen ones. However, both the beef brisket and flat rice noodles were underwhelming.  However, I still prefer Maxi's for overall quality, but Superior is more affordable. I'd recommend it if you're in the area. (86 St is my all-time favorite area for authentic Hong Kong food) ＊Wonton and Beef Brisket Rice Noodle $11 I ordered the same thing I got at Maxi's, and it was a few dollars cheaper here, mainly because you don't have to pay extra for the beef brisket. The wonton was about the size of a ping pong, generously stuffed with shrimp and pork filling. The shrimp was bouncy, while the wonton skin was not too thick. Unfortunately, the beef brisket was quite tough, so I didn't finish it. I'll probably try the beef tendon next time... We also had the fried fish skin and the curry fish ball. The fried fish skin was not good, I wouldn't recommend at all. The curry fish ball was good and has a good amount of kick. I couldn't finish the supreme wonton cuz it was so massive. The wonton was the largest I've seen in a wonton noodle soup. There were some things that definitely was annoying though - they seemed to really not want to give me a proper to go box and said if they give me the takeout bowl it'll be an extra 50 cents which I thought was odd. They also originally gave me a flat takeout box typically for rice or dry noodles. They also don't seem to serve you water here so I guess order a drink. There's a restroom but I didn't use it. It is over. There is nothing more that I can do. This is not the same Brooklyn as I once knew. 90% of the businesses have changed, the neighborhoods have changed, and so have has the atmosphere in said neighborhoods. The food at this restaurant reflects such change, but in a good way. The wontons are superior; you can see them being made as you eat and they taste delicious. They are plump and there is no hiding what is in them. The noodles are great too and the portion is nice. As another Yelper wrote, the broth is delicious and has a nice opaque appearance with a nice, not too heavy flavor. I only wish they offered in more sizes as I would not want to leave. Maybe that is why they offer one size, though they do offer a compromise in offering extra noodles for $2 more. $20 minimum for credit cards is very high. That is price gauging. It made me very upset to see that. I was forced to order another plate of food I did not want to order, but maybe I should have brought me some cash. Either I have to live with that, deal with the fact Bensonhurst is not what it once was, or pack up my things and go back down south. Probably the best wonton soup that I've ever had. Broth super flavorful with a dark, nearly opaque, hue and very low viscosity which was surprising given the color and flavor. I believe they make their own wontons and fish balls which were the best iterations that I've had of those two as well. You could see big chunk of shrimp in the wontons, so there was no mystery regarding what was inside. Service was very quick. It's a very casual restaurant. Minimum credit card charge was $20. After reading good reviews on this restaurant online, I decided to try this place after our initial restaurant had a long waitlist. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy. The restaurant was nearly full but luckily a table was left in the back. We all ordered the 2 topping lo mein (which comes with a soup on the side) with HK Style Zha-Jiang Sauce. In addition, 2 bowls had wontons and one had beef tendon. While the price for each bowl of wonton noodles is quite high, we felt it was rightfully so because all the toppings were made very well. The wontons, especially, were filled with fresh and bouncy shrimp, and minimal pork meat/fat which is what we prefer. The wonton skins were also very thin which reminded my mom of HK-style wontons. Contrary to what others have said, we felt the noodle amount was very reasonable. We were all really full after eating, so unless you have a black hole in your stomach, you'll most likely feel satisfied after eating a bowl. I really loved the Zha-Jiang Sauce. It reminds me of the Zha-Jiang Mian at a restaurant I used to go to in Flushing, but it is so far away and I'm not even sure if it's still open. So glad to know a local restaurant now has it! The beef tendon was also really soft and flavorful. However, I do feel like getting the wontons are more worth it due to the amount of shrimp in them. Although we ordered a large fish skin and were given a small one instead, the server was really apologetic about it. The service was great and everyone was friendly. Having been to Hong Kong, wonton noodles are a staple there. Superior wonton noodles definitely cures the craving! While there aren't a ton of seats here, they are spaced out enough to sit comfortably. It is also very well kept and clean. Our server was quick to seat us on a Sunday late afternoon although we heard it gets crowded often. The milk tea was *chefs kiss*. You can taste that it has been steeped for a long time and it wasn't too sweet with the amount of milk and sugar added. 10/10! We ordered the three topping noodle with beef stomach, tendon and wonton. Our server said they were out of beef brisket for the day but my husband managed to snag one in his superior noodle order. It was just the right texture and packed with flavor. We also ordered a side of fish skin and it was crispy without that old oil smell. We asked the server and she said their noodles are flown in from Hong Kong. It was delicious and just perfect eating it with the staples of red vinegar and chili sauce! Yum! Docked 1 star because it is pricey! But it is pricey because their wontons are the size of meatballs. they're fairly large and packed with shrimp. However, I do wish their combos were more affordable or at least larger. There are quite a number of varieties that you can add to your wonton soup to make it your own but it runs you close to $15 if not more. With taxes you might be looking at a $20 bowl. When they finally took my order, they were rude and dismissive, and to top it off, they forgot an order without even apologizing. Walked by this spot with extremely high hopes and I have to say that it was a huge let down. The beef noodle soup with wontons was not a great combo at all imo as the beef does not mix well with the wonton taste. The wonton by itself was good, was large and filled with shrimp. My beef noodle soup does not come with pork liver but I constantly tasted it, maybe because they make the broth with it. IMHO it was just a pretty okay spot, and a bit overpriced if you ask me. I got their cold lemon tea for $3.75 and it was very good but too sweet for my taste. I also tried the superior wonton noodles and the signature beef noodles. They do give a lot of stuff but for $14-$15 it is quite expensive for wonton noodles. The broth for both is a thick beef broth so not your typical light wonton noodle broth.
