Honest Consultation (No BS): Before I even committed to going blonde, Shazleena offered me a free consultation and even a free treatment to make sure I truly understood what I was signing up for. She gave me realistic expectations about the maintenance, cost, timeline, and upkeep. She's a true no-BS stylist and she'll tell you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. Color Transformation: I came in after a terrible hair experience in Asia that left my hair very orange. My goal was blonde, but instead of jumping straight into it, she pushed back in the best way possible. She helped me choose a blonde that would grow out beautifully, be as low-maintenance as possible, and keep my hair healthy. I never felt pressured. she made sure I had all the information so I could make the best decision. The appointment took 8 hours, and she worked incredibly hard the entire time. She was meticulous, barely stopped for lunch, and constantly made sure I was comfortable while I sat in the chair. The end result was absolutely worth every minute. The Cut: Her haircut is on another level. She uses a Japanese cutting technique that gives my hair so much movement, dimension, and soft, natural layers. It complements the color perfectly. Overall Experience: The salon is also accommodating. they offer drinks and snacks, which made the long appointment even more comfortable. I'm extremely particular about who I trust with my hair, and I chose Shazleena because of her excellent reviews. I went into my appointment feeling very confident that I was in good hands. Unfortunately, the haircut didn't turn out the way I expected. I asked for long layers, but the face-framing pieces ended up being cut into thick, chunky sections that didn't blend with the rest of my hair. They won't fit into a ponytail or flow into the rest of my haircut, making them frustrating to style. Even now, whenever I wear my hair up, I have to bobby pin those pieces to the sides of my head because they're too short to stay in my ponytail and otherwise just hang there awkwardly. Shazleena apologized and offered to fix the haircut at no charge, which I appreciated. However, after seeing the result of the original cut, I no longer felt comfortable having the same stylist correct it. Instead, I went to another stylist who had to blend and soften the chunky pieces so they looked somewhat natural again. That meant spending additional time and money to fix a haircut that should have been right the first time. I appreciate that she took responsibility and tried to make it right, but the experience left me disappointed and without the confidence to return. read more
