I like the hairdressers but every time I visit this salon they go up $10.00 on thier prices. Just to get a hair cut and blowdry $52.00. That is way! to high! The hairdresser went up from my last cut 6 months previously from $42.00 to $52.00. read more

I got a haircut yesterday at Great Clips and they did a horrible job so I came in to Shear Artistry today to get it fixed. I showed Mrs. Chica a photo and she did an amazing job and somehow managed to make my hair even better then the photo. The cut itself was only $30 and it was definitely worth it because it was perfect and extremely trendy. I've never gotten a haircut in America until this week and this was definitely a Tokyo level haircut. I am extremely happy and this will be my hair salon from now on. I came as a walk-in, needed to change my color from mostly light brown back to my natural color black, and also get a trim. The waiting time was maybe 5 minutes and it was easy to register as a new customer. I love my new look, and it was very reasonably priced compared to places such as Ulta, which overcharge for sometimes bad service. I also got a trim, and my stylist recommended I get long layers to reduce heaviness/stiffness in my look. Good advice, my hair looks great! I am going to preface this by saying I have curly hair. I say this because it has been hard to trust people to cut my curly hair, and I have received several bad haircuts in my life. This was not one of them. Rachael Thompson was the woman who cut my curly hair to perfection. I went from long, middle of my back hair, to a short bob. Every 2-3 years I cut my hair and donate it. If I had known about Rachael and Shear Artistry before I would have gone and gotten a trim much sooner. It was easy to make an appointment, Rachael was super nice, and she listened to what I was looking for. I didn't go in with pictures or ideas because people really just need to see your curly hair to know what to do with it, and I've been told by other stylists to NOT cut my hair short, instead of having them listen to me. Rachael listened to me, listened to my ideas, and listened after I told her I was donating my hair. I gave this place a 3 star because it wasn't good but it wasn't bad. I'm new to the area and my 2 girls needed a haircut. They had Emily. She was not warm at all. Especially from the moment we met her. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day. But it reflected her mood and her work on my girls. Never again! I feel so bad for my girls that I told them to not worry and their hair will grow back. I'm in need of a haircut and I won't be coming here. I'll be looking for another place. read more

I took my 7 year old here after it was recommended by another mom. We sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes past her appointment time. Nobody said anything to us. I finally asked the receptionist how much longer and she checked and said Chika is behind, but almost done. Good to know! Finally, she came out and we went back. She didn't apologize for running late until she was finishing up my daughters hair. She hardly spoke the entire time. Then when I got home I noticed that her hair has crooked on one side. So then I had to trim it myself. Place was clean. Probably won't return- if I do I'll get another stylist. read more

Shear artistry has provided me with quality hair care over the last two years, but yesterday i was very disappointed. I went in for a simple style, loose curls with a regular iron, that took maybe 20 mins to do. I was charged $65! No shampoo, dry, etc....simply curling the ends of my hair. I called to make sure there was no mistake and they assured me that this is their going rate for "specialty" styles. She said they were charging $50, and have recently decided to up the price. For comparison, a very up-scale salon in Chattanooga TN, Hairbenders, charges $35 for this so called "specialty" style and this includes a shampoo & dry. This may just be the stylist in particular I used yesterday. I've used another stylist at the same salon that charged me half the price for the same style. I don't mind paying for good quality hair service, but $65 for a few curls? Take a hike! read more

Loved this place! I had my hair done by Holly, a beautiful young lady with mounds of talent. We did the first of many stages of balayage for my upcoming wedding day next fall! She was very sweet and my hair turned out amazing! She helped me find the right shampoo and conditioner for my hair, brought my lifeless locks back from death, and even gave my little sister a nice nail color while my hair was being treated.
