If you are just going to get your hair cut, they will do an excellent job. My sister also gets her hair dyed here all the time and leaves perfectly satisfied. Unfortunately, what I would NOT recommend is coming to get a balayage treatment done. I have never dyed my hair in the past and decided to do something different for a change. Having coming from Manhattan, I was intent on trying something different for $200 as opposed to $500. I figured with balayag being a very trendy style right now, the stylist had to have a ton of practice. After all, It is pretty hard to mess up -- especially when I show you a picture before hand. When I came in, I was completely brunette. And when I left I did not have a balayage (where my brown hair would gradually turn into blonde) but on the contrary, I was completely blonde with dark roots. Really not at all like a balayage. In fairness, my hair is extremely long. And thick. The appointment itself took 3 hours. I feel that the error came from both lack of experience and also management of time. We ran 30 minutes over into the next client's appointment (poor thing) and I felt like it was a rushed job. She didn't end up actually styling my hair because she ran out of time. I suppose a little of this is on me because I should have ensured she REALLY LOOKED at the picture. I was like here's the picture. She very quickly relied "oh I totally got it! I can do that" This was several months back and the reason I write about it now is because I now am having to pay almost $500 for a color correcting and CORRECT balayage. Moral of the Story: salon dacota is great. Just not for balayage. If you are wanting to do that, splurge and go somewhere that specializes otherwise you may end up paying more. Hope this is helpful!

She did a great consult, listened, and made sure I was happy with the finished cut and color. She also did a great job with my brows! The salon is in a remodeled older house with beautiful natural light and big windows. I felt like I was at somebody's home, having a chat, and getting dolled up. It was wonderful after a year of "pandemic chic" hairstyle! Sarah and the staff there were great with COVID safety precautions. I waited outside until my turn and got the text to go in. Once inside, we all wore masks the entire time, and staff kept areas sanitized and clean. Parking is around back and street side as well. While I've only ever come here for hair services, I do enjoy my visits here. The place is always clean and organized with friendly and attentive staff. My first visit was so-so but after a year, I found someone I really like. I came to see Danielle for a glass and hair cut. The process took longer than the time allocated on their booking app which apparently has been an issue but Danielle was kind enough to perform my services without rushing through it. The guy used too much mousse, it wasn't what I wanted, and it was over $100!!! I've been growing my hair out but by bit for the last three years and thought nervously that it was time for a chop. I had pictures ready and everything, but when I saw her, I just gave her an idea. Medium length, highlights my eyes and waves, with volume and minimal styling. GUYS. It was only $60 and considering the look of the place I thought it was gonna be so much higher. She washed my hair, cut it with absolute precision for a whole hour, made wonderful conversation, stayed past closing time to style and blow dry it, and she DESERVED that tip I gave her. Wow.
