First time at this salon. Chose it right here on Yelp. It is near my condo. Linda colored and highlighted my hair today, and gave me a really nice cut. I had my Goldwell color formula and she easily converted it to their color products. She did a fabulous job!!!! The salon is large, clean and a very pleasant place to relax while being pampered. Going back tomorrow for a pedicure! I would recommend Linda to anyone looking for a new stylist. Take note - they moved to the front of the business complex that they were located in. read more

I started coming to Shear Paradise after giving up on my former stylist who didn't listen to what I wanted and always cut my hair too short. I explained that to my stylist, who I won't name here. Unfortunately she was even a worse listener. After many appointments, I still had to nag to get an approximation of what I wanted. Yesterday I showed her a photo, hair almost skimming shoulder. She said sure and managed to cut it so short it doesn't even skim my collar. When I complained she said "but it looks nice." To her, perhaps. Not to the customer who paid $50 for a haircut that will take six months to grow out to a reasonable length. I don't quite understand why any stylist will cut hair shorter than a customer wants. Cut it the way you're asked to, and your client will be back for a trim every six weeks. Now, instead of that, in six months, when my hair is long enough to need a trim, I'll be looking for someone new. read more

Not much of a review writer, but still dealing with the aftermath of terrible hairstyling. Went in for a haircut and salon service with CRYSTAL. Was sold on keratin, despite having fine, wavy, blond hair. Asked for a treatment for damage, was told keratin was perfect and would not take wave out of my hair. Also, told the stylist I wanted no more than 3" off my long hair due to damage. Not only did I end up with 41/2" cut off, but over 1/2" uneven from side to side. In addition cut is messy and unattractive. My hair is still stick straight after 4 weeks of washing with sulfate ridden shampoo mixed with some sea salt, per internet. Always avoided sulfates because they damage dry hair such as mine, so even more damaged now than before. Some curl at very front of my head, but doesn't hold its shape even with product. I already need a new haircut but it won't help! Was told my hair would be silky smooth and free of knots with keratin. I have never really had knotty hair, but even after stepping out of shower with leave in conditioner, my hair has a million knots. It is terrible to comb out and I have more split ends now than when I went in 41/2" longer. The keratin has damaged my hair even more to be honest. More fragile and if you put it up, it puts a permanent kink in hair until washed. Was told a lot of things about keratin treatment (ie no formaldehyde, wont take curl out, wont damage) and ALL came out to be untrue. Some stuff I was told contradicts the manufacturer's website. Biggest complaint remains this haircut. Products are tricky, despite the obvious misinformation I was given. However, this remains the worst haircut I have ever had, Thankfully, the extremely kind owner, who is reported to be an excellent stylist, reimbursed me for the cut. I would have expected the stylist to return the $15 tip in addition, but she didn't make any efforts to even apologize or anything when I came back for the $. There may be some excellent stylists at this salon. I would not suggest Crystal to anyone! I will not be going back to this salon any time soon. read more

Being new to the area I was nervous about going to a new hair salon BUT Shear Paradise put my worries aside. Phyllis and a stylist answered all my questions on the phone, promptly scheduled me the same day and I walked out a new person. Gerda used the ammonia free product line as I requested and cut my hair to perfection. They did NOT push product which was a professional display of caring for the customer and not the sale! Chairs are comfortable they offer beverages when you arrive and treat you like family even when meeting you the first time. The understand how the weather here impacts your hair and cuts it accordingly. This is my NEW hair salon and I plan on going back for a massage! I couldn't be happier! read more
