Since my usual hairstylist barber is out for the next few months, I've decided to cut all of my hair off into a low maintenance buzzcut. I found Shear Pleasure on Yelp and was glad it's close to my residence. The parking lot was full on a weekday morning, but I was lucky to park in the last remaining spot. I entered the barbershop to find a few people waiting for some of the barbers. One was available and took me right away. He was nice and got my cut done. It was no frills, but I appreciate the quick work and good cut at the price of $30. I'll probably come back for a shorter buzzcut during the next few visits until my regular barber returns to work in March. read more

Other barber shops charger 50- to 60 bucks a hair cut when family's out there struggling some moms can't even cut their kids hair because the price rising . Clean barbershop, fast service. My barber Steve does an excellent job with my taper and scissor trim. He even fades in my sideburns into my beard (I do my beard myself). Prices are affordable and this is my spot in Pico Rivera. Take it from a guy who used to live in LA and go to a top-notch appointment-only full service shop for about 5-6 years. With prices going up for barbershops, I decided to try a new barber. For only $20, you can get any regular cut or fade. That's a great value when most barbers are now closer to $30. While there are no appointments, there are usually 4 barbers and you won't have too long of a wait unless you go during peak hours. Overall, you will be satisfied with your new cut and paying a good price too. read more

A straight forward haircut place. For $20 a cut, no upsell, no chats, all business, strictly focus on the hair cut. My barber did a good job and followed my request. I also noticed he kept checking my hair back and forth to ensure it was a clean cut. No appointment available. Just walk in and you will see a sign-up sheet. This place is huge and always clean and the TV always has sports on. I found this place a few years ago when I got mad at my barber for spending 1hr on a 5year old while I, one of his best clients sit and wait. Do 5year olds tip, NO! So I found this place and have been coming ever since. The great part is there's always 6 or so people working, so the wait time is very short. Randy and his crew do an amazing job! They're clean and professional. There's normally 5 barbers on deck...it all depends on you on how fast you wanna get outta here. There's literally 2-3 more barbershops nearby, so the competition is there...no doubt. But I've been to all and Shear Pleasure is the best choice for me. I think 10 bucks is fair. Been coming here for the past two years Randy and his staff are great at haircuts, only word of advice is this place does get packed sometimes and the wait can be up to an hour or more so if it's Friday i would give a call to see how many people are waiting, I recommend Randy but from what I've seen the other workers do a great job as well. Here to get a haircut. Great place and reasonable. $10.00 for a regular hair cut. Other places charge almost $15.00 for a regular haircut which is too expensive and I heard from people they are losing business because of the price increase. read more

This place is always great, been going here since I moved to Downey about 4-5 years ago and they have never given a bad cut. Whether I ask for my usual taper or show em a picture they always get it right. I've gotten cuts from all of their barbers at least once and they all check out. Come here every other weekend or so haircuts are 11bucks each great price the barbers really take care of you there. I believe its family owned nice and orderly they have TV while you're getting your new fresh cut! Come in and get your haircut. They are open and they are taking all precautions to keep customers safe during this pandemic. They use gloves and change them after each customers, they clean the barber chairs, they make sure everyone is 6feet apart. They have you stay in car to wait their turn. Wow, what can I say, these guys have been my barber since I was 20... I'm now 34, and I bring my kids here. They've always done my hair how I want it, and how I like it. What attracts me here the most is that they never change barbers. Your hair cut is always consistent, and how you want it. I usually get a somewhat faux hawk because, well... I want too lol! I highly recommend them, for $10 you can't go wrong. Their hot shave cream feels delightful; especially on a cold day. I usually go for 3rd chair from when you walk or 2nd to last however you put it. Great service. They're following all government guidelines for covid 19. I went last week (June, 2020).

So being honest, I decided to take a while to calm down about the scenario before I actually wrote this post. Anyways, I went to the man in the middle, if not then distinguish him as the oldest man there with a soft voice. I am not sure about the rest & I am willing to try them out later, but as of right now not satisfied. I told him my hair on top was roughly if not 6 in. & I would like it 3 to 3 & 1/2 in. He ended up cutting it not how I imagined it, so that's what the prior reference to myself being kinda heated was about. Once I got home & measured it I found out it was my stupid fault because it was 3 in., I am man enough to admit that was my fault. Although, on the sides I requested a tapered from 1 & 1/2 to double zero, he gave me a double zero all around. If I'd have to say, I'd say the problem is a language barrier maybe he doesn't speak English or enough. He would murmur talking & I only understood like simple words, but not making sentences. This place is great at giving good haircuts at a quality price. I like it because they provide their service very quickly and painlessly, especially in the summer thanks to their air conditioning. Always expect to be in and out unless you're waiting for Randy, he's always very busy, with a line out the door. However, the other 3-4 guys also do a great job. P.S. I went in to try this place out since my normal barber was closed and I have to say I did not have to wait but they do not know how to cut or fade. My hair is a mess and I will need to go to my normal barber to get it fixed. After the haircut was finished I pointed out several things after some attempts I gave up left.
