Took my 13 yo daughter here early Saturday morning for a haircut and Alan the owner/stylist was already working away on a client. We were about 10 minuets early and he took us right away. My daughter was getting bangs trimmed and her ends trimmed. Alan went the extra mile and cleaned up the lousy job that another stylist (from a really bad shop) did and textured her bangs and ends a lot more that she ever got before. He is very friendly, easy to talk to AND listens to what you ask...afterall it's YOUR hair and you deserve to get it the way YOU like it which is why my next hair appointment will be here!! read more

Love this place, Vicky is a great hair dresser who really takes her time. Always explains the details of whatever your getting done. Alan is a great stylist. I have tried many places in the area and they were o.k. Alan does great texturing and spends time making sure that your hair looks fabulous before you leave. Will always go back to this salon. read more

Let's say I was in between stylist and mentioned it to a co-worker, who suggested Shearz. After reading the reviews, there were a lot of good things said about Alan, so I scheduled an appointment. Not knowing one another, I thought it was important to tell him the countless ways I've abused my hair over the years. Not that it wasn't already obvious. We talked about what I was looking for and he went to work. I felt comfortable, there was good conversation without being excessive and the fee was more than fair. Since I've been coming to Alan my hair has greatly improved and its actually growing now, which it hadn't for a while. I would say if you're from the area, need a great stylist, who doesn't charge you a ridiculous fee, Alan and Sheraz is a good place to visit. read more

Alan has done my hair for years, I wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair. He always senses when I am thinking about a change, and I always love it. I have difficult hair to color but he gets it right each time. I also drive from Concord to have him trim my granddaughter's hair and he gets that right each time. Alan's shop is clean and comfortable. read more

The owner, Alan, did my daughter's hair for her wedding. He did a fantastic job, it was just what she wanted and she looked stunning! Not to mention, she had her hair done at 8:30 a.m. and it still looked perfect at 10 p.m. when the festivities were all over, even with adding and removing a veil during the middle of the day. Alan had a pre-appointment with my daughter to see what she wanted and do a couple practice runs and he didn't even charge us for that. Overall, it was a great experience, with a reasonable price and working with a wonderful professional! read more

Found this place on Yelp, made an appointment with Alan, and he was SUPER nice. I had really long hair, told him I wanted to donate it so he took care of that, even printed out the form for me!! Anyhoo, LOVE LOVE LOVE my haircut, will definitely go back to Alan for my next haircut. read more

Established in 2009.

Shearz on 3rd was opened in May of 2009. Our space in the "Historic Rivertown District" in Antioch, is a great location where parking is plentiful... Since opening the salon, I have worked diligently to make it a welcoming and comfortable place to be. I encourage my stylists to participate in seminars and advanced education which is key to staying "fresh" in this industry. It is my goal to deliver excellent service in a clean and friendly environment. I appreciate ALL client feedback, and look forward to making every client's experience at Shearz on 3rd an exceptional one.

I also realized that I wasn't shown the back of my hair with a mirror before leaving the salon. Normally this step helps the client confirm that the haircut looks correct before leaving. She was a nice person to talk but because of this cutting experience, I don't feel comfortable returning for a correction. I was planning to write this to salon directly instead of comment but there is no direct message option to them.

I've actually never had a problem with her work, and have found myself coming back every single time. But the punctuality was definitely starting to get old now. The reason I'm giving a 1 star review, is because she over-processed my hair to the point where I've had to cut the length off by a lot now due to HORRIBLE breakage. I had an appointment with her in the morning, and she was 20 min late. I didn't mind this time, but I did tell her we needed to finish on time because I had work later on in the day. During the processing point, she took 2 walk in haircuts back to back. I started noticing time go by, and was concerned at how long I had the foil in my hair for. Mind you, I did tell her that I was on crunch time, as she kept getting sidetracked majority of the time, checking her phone a lot + the 2 walk ins. By the time she got to my hair, I was super super behind on time. I think she probably took over 45 min to check on my hair even though I told her I'm sure my hair was ready for the foils to be taken out. I reiterated to her that if she was going to take walk ins and be late to her booked appt, to have booked me for another time where she can really devote her time and effort, and not give a half effort. My hair as the days came, really felt like spaghetti. I literally cried cause I knew I was going to have to cut it due to severe damage. Went to another stylist to cut my hair and they told me I had to cut off a lot, and that my hair was in a super fragile state that needed deep treatment. I love Cindy but due to the horrible time management and lack of efforts in our last few appointments, I sadly don't think I'll be returning back, in fear of damaging my hair again to the point of no fixing.

Nobody rushed me with "hello what do you want" or shoved a color wall in my face before I even sat down. I actually felt like a person, not just another number to get in and out. It wasn't until I was sitting there that I realized how used to bad treatment I'd gotten. Other salons trained me without me even noticing, packed into a tiny space, treated like I'm on a conveyor belt, rushed out before my nails even had time to properly dry. I had honestly forgotten my time and my experience mattered. Delane's brought that back for me. The professionalism was on another level too. No games with the price going up if you don't tip in cash, which is honestly tacky and rude and tells you exactly how little they think of their customers. Nobody crowding me in next to three other people either. It was calm, it was peaceful, it actually felt relaxing instead of stressful. And the cleanliness. Towels were fresh, equipment looked properly cleaned, none of that murky blue water sitting in a dirty container that's clearly been there for who knows how long. Even the bathroom was clean, and that alone tells you a lot about how a place is really run. Once you go to Delane's and get treated with that kind of value and respect, you won't want to go back to anywhere else. And honestly, you shouldn't have to. Ask for Brandi.
