Also, that I do not make a habit of posting reviews like this. I just believe that the public needs to be aware of this business at this point so that they know what they're dealing with and the total lack of respect for its customers that they SHOULD BE GRATEFUL TO HAVE In this day and time! That being said, I just want to inform people about the new MANAGEMENT (????!!! at Jim's Repair shop on 127 Harrodsburg Kentucky! I want you to know that we have been taking our lawnmowers, chainsaws, weedeaters, etc. to this establishment for years now. We have received relatively good service and repairs even though sometimes it took a while to get our equipment back. However just recently we had to take our riding lawnmower to be repaired for an oil leak. My husband received numerous calls from the INEPT person working on the lawnmower who could not get straight what we needed to be repaired and what he said he was going to do, which was extensive work that needed not be done. It came to the point that we said just not bother it and that we would pick it back up but the person insisted that they would get things straightened out. In the end, the oil leak was repaired and service completed on the lawnmower. Therefore, it was a total surprise of the amount that they charged for such a simple repair which was EXCESSIVE From what the usual charges have been in the past based on the same RATE of labor. and type of repair. No apologies, no consideration for the customer at this point! I called repeatedly to talk to the owner which took days and finally got the mother, who is the owner, on the phone. Needless to say, I tried to be considerate and respectful given the woman's age but there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING Pleasant about the call from that end! She repeatedly told me she did not know what went on in her business and did not know how long it took to repair the lawnmower. She repeatedly told me she did not know anything went on in the garage even though I told her as the owner that she was responsible. She was VERY RUDE AND UNCOOPERATIVE And pretty much told me that she was not worried about losing a customer since they were the only repair place around and had many customers that had never complained! Of course, I find this very laughable and incorrect given the lack of customer service, respect and knowledge that seems to be absent from this business at this point not to mention the absolute disregard for its customers!! She actually said "do you expect me to give away service for free " of which I responded of course not since I had been bringing my business to them for years But I did expect better customer service and someone who had not padded the bill and dealing with all the confusion of the repairs. I told her I had absolutely no problem in paying for fair pricing and for their time. After 55 years of being in business she said I was the only one ????? who had ever complained! Of course this is absurd and totally laughable!!She was very adamant, uncooperative, unapologetic, lacking people skills, very rude, and unwilling to provide any customer service whatsoever! Again, as the owner she took absolutely no responsibility or any concern for a customer and was one of the rudest people I've ever had to deal with when I was trying to just discuss the issue with her in a very cordial manner! I warn you to be very apprehensive about taking your equipment to this business due to the simple inept Business practices which seems to have absolutely no management and an owner who is simply out to make a buck! To add INSULT to injury, she actually put the phone down and I could hear her in the background talking about me like I did not matter To the simple minded garage crew and just totally disrespected me by eventually just hanging up the phone!! Evidently age has no bearing... At 88 years old you can still be a b****h!!!! BEWARE OF GOING TO JIMS REPAIR!! please believe me they are NOT the only people that provide this service no matter how much they declare otherwise! There are other businesses in and around Lawrenceburg that I will be sure to be patronizing from here on out if I have any repair issues!! I will not be returning to this business ever again!!! The wait was expected, the amount of time spent to fix neither was beyond comprehension. After an hour, he told me my dishwasher doesn't get power. I called for this reason... after insuring him it wasn't our fuse boxes, we have multiple and inspected 3 times a year bc of our pool system, he says maybe it's the outlet and you need and electrician?! No sir, I need someone to take the door off my dishwasher and change a fuse and check the wires. Bad start. He did check the fuses and boxes. He did nothing to pull our dishwasher out or take it apart. Hour later, after dissecting on the front side of our freezer with the door open for the same hour he says we bought a used refrigerator. I inform him we bought it new from Pieratt's and have the paperwork. Not interested. Then told me our refrigerator on top would die in a day or 2, just not true. I was informed a lot about how cell phones are tracking us and I should be nervous, great advice bub. Fix our stuff. If my wife hadn't gotten home 2 hours and 15 mins after he'd been here while our rescue dogs were waiting out back the entire time, I'm not sure how it would have worked, except definitely overcharged. He told me he would only charge us full on one appliance and 50% on the other after the initial $130 service charge. His solution for our freezer, it would only take them 3 hours and $2000 to fix our freezer bc we bought a 'used' one from Pieratt's with the paperwork and details he never took to concern. I should have trusted the reviews. Bad Angie and her List.
